We visited Severance Hall for a high school invitational concert. Parking was easy. If you park if their garage, you never have to go outside which is great for bad weather. The architecture of the facility and history was amazing. The auditorium was gorgeous. The acoustics in this place built in the early 1930s were very impressive. Our high school band sounded amazing. Every instrument stood out and the sound surrounded the listener, not one sided like a typical box that schools typically have. I definitely need to visit again.

The venerable Cleveland Orchestra is consistently rated among the top five ensembles worldwide, and their winter home is their equal. From lobby to lounge to auditorium this Art Deco fantasy is a delight for the eyes. With its superb acoustics it is also a marvel for the ears. If youre coming for a matinee concert be sure to arrive a little early and take a stroll around the beautifully landscaped Wade lagoon across the street.

Severance Hall is always a beautiful place to be. My last visit at the concert for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 14, 2020, was less than a stellar experience. Many patrons were herded into the lower level to wait before the concert with limited seating available. We waited about a half hour, but many had been there for more than an hour. No directions were given as to where or when we would go in.Ushers came about a minute before we were to start moving toward staircases to go upstairs. No directions were given, we just moved en masse toward the stairs. Many elders were on walkers, or using canes. They had to navigate the stairs anyway. There was an elevator but we didnt know that until we arrived upstairs. Our tickets were being coded as we got to the staircase. There was a table and chair in the way that patrons had to move aside to get past.I am not accustomed to attending events with such poor planning.I cannot understand why no instructions were posted anywhere in the waiting area. Many people seemed to know the drill, but I had not attended one of the King concerts in years, so I had no idea that things had deteriorated to this point. The concert and program was marvelous. I cannot say the same for the way we were treated before the concert.

Severance Hall is an absolutely amazing place. The architecture is beautiful and full of history. The Cleveland Orchestra is phenomenal and world class. Show prices will obviously vary depending on what and when you are seeing. As far as I can tell, there really arent any bad seats in the auditorium. Maybe in the very far back? Being right up front could be a bit tiring for your neck I suppose. Concessions werent outrageous like other venues seem to be. I think Sevrence is worth every penny.

Concert was wonderful, parking not so wonderful. I was told they blocked the handicap area off for the Mayor and his staff for the presentation that was being done prior to the concert. I had a hard time walking and so did the people that came with me. I saw so many people with Rollaters or walkers orthopedic boots on a foot. Im sure they couldve given them another place to park than the handicap area!!!

First time going to see Cleveland Symphony and Chorus, was in town for a graduation and celebrated at the Christmas voncert at Severance Hall. A beautiful architectural building, incredible acoustics and flawless performance. The balcony had the best view, but the ground floor had more leg room, if leg room is an issue, get seats on the floor, if not , then go for one of the upper tiers.

Severance Hall is one of the most beautiful orchestral venues in the world. The original design was preserved during renovations and I believe that its unique layout is what earned a spot in the top ten concert halls. The depth of the stage is one of the first things you notice. This feature lends warmth, richness, and a fully blended sound; the extremely wide flare at the outer stage gives the entire auditorium an equal share of that sound. Not as live as it was pre-renovation, but thats the price of modern fire safety.
