This was a nice place to go after a long day at work. It was peaceful, despite there being people in multiple places on the boardwalk. It has places to both sit and eat or just view the lake on a swing by yourself if you want. I would say the whole boardwalk is about a 10-20 minute walk from beginning to end. So, nice if youre tired after work and just looking to get out and relax.

I had lunch (from Wendys) here with my son, then we took a stroll. Someone has laid decorated shells and rocks all over in partially hidden places. It was fun finding those. Great place to walk your dog, take a walk yourself or sit quietly on a bench or swing and look at the lake.

It was nice. We only stopped to eat lunch. It was nice to look at the water.Only thing that spoiled it was the restroom was dirty and had a bad smell. Plus there was something smeared on the toilet seat. Other than that, I would stop and eat lunch here again. But stsy away from the restroom.

I love this park! Even now with Corona virus keeping everyone apart its a place to go walking and see wildlife. There are places to sit and picnic, view the beautiful lake and relax. You can also walk up to a few different businesses and get food. You can also canoe/kayak from one spot.

A small lovely park at the lake with deck pathways into the woods and over water with open and covers decks and pergolas with hanging benches.

Really nice area to fish or hang out. Had no luck catching anything, but that was due to the weather conditions. The pier appears clean. Has enough room to fit a lot of people, and has different sides of the lake.

Super busy and difficult to launch a kayak from. That was my draw and I couldnt launch due to so many people crowding the bank.

I enjoy my every visit. I feel that quarantine has the park a bit neglected. My view is ... With social distancing and the park being essentially closed to the public. Why not use that time to do repairs and return it to its fullest potential? Regardless, its still a beautiful place to be.

It is an okay place to take your dog for a walk or to relax by the lake. City of Clemson needs to spend a little time to clean it up a little more.

Peaceful and captivating on an overcast and breezy Sunday morning. Thrashers, Cardinals, and Mockingbirds accompanied me on my walk through the wooded wetland. The boardwalk is thoughtfully designed with details like covered hanging swings, each in its own alcove and large enough for one or a small family; the meandering path winds through wooded areas and across open water, making the park feel so much larger than it really is; very effective employment of design details. Well done.

Good trails for a walk, gotngood for fishing.

The walking trail was nice and they had seats along the way should you need them.

Don’t skip on the swings. My friend and I parked at Starbucks, got a coffee, and walked to the park to relax in the swings and catch up. There’s plenty of parking, shade, and sun exposure to choose from.

Despite the park always having the presence of other parkgoers -- very little privacy; there is always seemingly a crowd whenever I go-- there is a calmness to this park. Something within these trees, something in the water, lends a beautiful, bucolic sense that all is right with the world. Clemson can sometimes appear to be a town too busy for its size, but come to the Larry W. Abernathy Waterfront Park and regroup. Find the peaceful serenity to be found wrapped in the nature.This is an ideal place for a minute to step aside from a hectic life, regroup and redefine priorities. The nature, the woodland critters -- even the creepy-crawlers -- remind you that life doesnt have to be so chaotic. Sunsets on the beach, or swinging on one of the lakefront swings, is so beautiful its hard to see where Heaven ends and Earth begins.

Great shade and hammock trees, access to Lake Hartwell, and joyfully secluded. One of my favorite spots in Clemson.

Quite lakeside park in the heart of Clemson. Went there as the sun was beginning to set. Plenty of areas for a picnic. Many of the areas had shelter so you could enjoy it in the rain. Water was about 8 to 10 feet low however, and you could tell the water level was only about one foot deep.

Nice area, cool breeze on a hot day. An awful lot of trash in the woods and waters edge. People are disappointing...

Ot a really cool place to just walk around and relax and chill it one of the best parks Ive been to.

You should be able 2 fish any where on that walk i been fishing all that area before you put the walk way there they got all of clemson 2 walk you can only fish at the lake

This is great place to walk alone or with your childhood sweetheart. Theres plenty to see. Watch the sunset while sitting on a bench style swing overlooking the lake. If you want a lunch date to remember, Have a seat comfortably under the canopy area on a picnicking style setting.

Always like to walk there. Especially for the sunset. Go fishing early in the morning and you will be surprised what animals you see there in the water and in the bush. I saw two deers , otters. For fishing be careful though as i lost many hooks. Either bush, tree in the water or the turtles. You can use worms which is the best for the lake. Soemtimes water level is too low or too high. Check the weather conditions ofcourse.

An awesome peaceful walk and sit and listen to birds and people walking.

The veiw is beautiful but the walkway needs to be updated the wood is very old and rugged as are the swings that area conveniently located through out the park.

Well maintained walkways right by the water. Beautiful scenery with tables and sitting swings set up frequently. Only giving four stars because I dont like the way the trail goes behind Wendys restaurant and some other businesses.

Decent little park. There are a good bit of walking trials that go right along the water. There also is a shelter that is good for picnics.

I loved my visit it was amazing all the pretty flowers and good exsersise because of the walking.So much pretty flowers.

This place has a great view, especially at summer sunset. Might need a little care due some careless trashers. Mostly a pristine waterfront along the boardwalk leading around the waters edge.
