This is a beautiful little state park, often overlooked and overshadowed a bit by Dinosaur Valley. Much quieter and more peaceful. Trails are great, but a couple of them can be a bit confusing as they wind through the hills because some of the markers are a bit oddly placed. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Visited this great little state park for a family day hike. We did the Yellow and Light Green trails and made our own loop. We read reviews that stated both Dark Green and Light Green trails can be confusing for some because of all the switchbacks. If you are new to hiking I can see this being the case. If you hike often, these trails shouldn’t be a problem. I still did feel that the trails were well marked and markers spaced out enough to help you out. Park was well maintained and very peaceful. Good amount of ups and downs on the trails to make it a fun and rewarding to hike. We drove through the campsites and found the pad sites to be fairy spaced out compared to other parks. Will visit again!!

Not only did it have a beautiful lakefront, but nice campsites as well. I went with some people in our camping group with my boyfriend and had a nice time. My boyfriend and I went hiking, but wound up very lost. The maps didnt provide great directions, so we ended up almost walking three miles. We planned to only take a fifteen minute trail. Long story short, we walked all the way back to Cedar Grove from Park Road 21. We were very exhausted, but were glad some kind people kept telling us to go the way we were going. It was rough, both overheated and joints aching, but it was an adventure Ill never forget. The scenery was beautiful. The bathrooms were kept up nicely, only the dryer in the womens bathroom didnt work, and there was no paper towels, so we dried our hands on our clothes. Overall, I would definitely return to Cleburne State Park for its beautiful scenery, amazing trails, and good play area for children. If you have a family, I recommend this place for a day visit, or camping trip. Make sure you bring sunscreen and bug spray though, as it was sunny and the temperature was a little warm, but not too unbearable.

What an absolutely beautiful park! The waterfalls were incredible and not even that far off the state park road, we made it through 3 trails and they were all very well marked and easy to get through. We cannot wait to come back and bring The kids to visit. We look forward to a camp out here as soon as they open everything back up! The waterfalls are seriously like a small garden of Eden! Just beautiful!

Not a bad place to be hiking with your dog. I walked on part of the Yellow Trail through the spillway to the lake via Red Trail. The trail is quite steep and very rocky, have to be careful not to slip and fall. Be sure to have a map of the trails before you get on one, you can easily get lost in this big park with multiple trails.

Love the park and the lake is beautiful. It is a no wake lake. There is a boat launch in the park next to a very nice dock. About half way into the winding road park. Perfect for yak fishing water is normally very clear also. The rv park is top notch with most all amenities. Showers are nice and hot the and changing area is in very good shape too. I would recommend to anyone. Now remember dont confuse Cleburne Pat lake with Cleburne state park. The lake connected to the state park is Cedar lake. Big difference. It booked most of the time so call ahead to see if you can get a spot for your RV. or go to the website.

Great little hikes off of the dam... and we really love the campsites at the end that are right in the lake... this park is regularly full, so book ahead of time... small enough of a lake with lots of little inlets to explore on a kayak or paddleboard... the day use beach area is shallow for a long ways out, great for young kids and pets

A hidden Gem, I have never been there before and didnt even know it existed but it is a really great Park. Have a couple of different loops one thing that was interesting in camping space number 16 the water is on the opposite side away from the pedestal so that was challenging. But it doesnt seem like the other sites are set up like that. Dump station has two ports. Really nice park great hiking trails as you can see in the pictures. One waterfall that actually turns into about three different waterfalls is really nice. Was there in February and happy to report no bugs but I assume in summer that would be a different story. Camp spaces are large. We stayed in number 16 it was very shaded plenty of trash receptacles and restrooms nearby. Park was well maintained and staff were very friendly and helpful. Cant wait to go back check it out if you get a chance. Cost is $5 per day for adults children under 13 are free plus you will need to pay for the campsite which I believe is around $25 per night. You can save some money with a Texas state park pass that will get you in without the daily fee and it is good for an entire car load a people. You will still need to pay for camping even with the state park pass but you can save money on The Daily entrance fee.

My family and I stayed here for a summer vacation and were impressed with the park and amenities provided. We rented one of the cabins for a few days and other than some opportunities to improve the cleanliness of the showers the entire stay was a pleasant one. Id definitely recommend this state park to those looking for an option to hit the outdoors.PS - Its stated on their website that cell coverage is minimal, and they mean it. Other than the Cedar Grove showers near the swimming area there is ZERO coverage that we could find.

We had a lovely family camping experience. It is a small, quiet park with a few great hiking trails. Going to see the spillway was our highlight and dipping our feet into the spring waters that feed the lake. We had one issue with very loud campers (after 9:00 p.m.) across from our site, and the park ranger made sure there was no repeat performance! All in all, we throughly enjoyed our trip.

Great state park just a stones throw away from the metroplex! Ask for a map at the ranger checkpoint, thatll help you navigate the trails if youre interested in a hike. The loop trails tend to zigzag, so it can be easy to lose your way if youre not paying attention. I highly recommend the All Trails app if youre tackling one of the loops around the lake. The shortest full trail loop connection around the park is just short of five miles with a few ups and downs, nothing too serious but it could be a little challenging on a sweltering hot Texas summer day. Bring plenty of water!

The park was conveniently located (45 minutes from down town ft worth), clean, diverse trails, tons of birds (mainly cardinals), and features a beautiful small spring fed lake with a unique limestone waterfall.-Conveniently located 45 minutes from downtown Fort Worth if you use the tollway.-Clean! Especially around DFW the parks seem to accumulate a ton of plastic bottles, beer cans, food wrappers, but there were hardly any on the trails or parts of the lake we ventured.-Diverse trails for the most part. There are some “hilly” trails, winding trails through the forest, grassland trails, trails along the creek, trails along the lake, overlook trails, even trails that would be great for mountain biking!-The water being spring fed is a huge plus! I’d actually trust eating fish from there. We got into the lake and we’re able to see our feet and about 3 feet in front of us, which around DFW seems unheard of!-The Limestone waterfall isn’t what you’re expecting. It’s mainly just water running down some carved out limestone, but there are a couple pools that are very neat to walk along.

This is a nice little Texas State Park with a beautiful little spring fed lake as the center piece. It is a great park for family camping. The main draw back is the limestone mining opperation on the SW side of the park. When the wind is blowing from that direction, moswt of the summer, there is a dust cloud that blow across the park. If you have breathing issues this could be very bad. Other than that, the park is great!

Had a good time here. My complaints would be the sites are super close to eachother and the flys were obnoxious, not really sure why they were so bad (we were at site 34, had access to a little creek behind us). Bathrooms are close to each loop, from what I saw. If youre taking a RV or Travel Trailer go way slower than the 20 mph speed limit. Lots of blind twists and turns. Swimming area is perfect, not too deep. If you go during the pandemic, register online, youll thank yourself. They will not sell you anything right now from the store and will not take cash. Fishing wasnt great but thats not here nor there. There is a small pier and a couple other areas you can fish from. Best part - full hookups a couple of the loops!
