Been a great spot for fishing and taking the family for years! The city does a good job of keeping the park clean and providing trash cans, unfortunately some people cant manage to pick up their trash. We usually take a trash bag for our stuff and try to pick up some extra along the way. Also a great place to take family pictures. The best place to waste a morning or afternoon under huge old oak trees.

OK starting with Byron Stewart Park was name on sign. See photo... now we took Rowdy on his outing there. He loved it. Not a lot of people but, enough to be able to walk and not worry about someone wanting to pet dog, yell at kids or PSA People (you know who you are....lol). There are pavillion, soccer goals, trails, walking paths, picnic tables and more. Geese and duck didnt run after us looking for food or to attack us or dogs. Means we havent ruined them by chasing, feeding, scaring, hunting or other things. It was a really peaceful day. Love this park. I think you will too. It is a place you can go with family, friends or by yourself to relax, reflect or exercise. People were fishing, jogging, picnicking, playing with pets, playing with family, and BBQing. so, try to have a great time in anything you choose to do there. Remember please to keep it clean, cleanup after your pets, and have a blessingly GREAT time.

Not sure if this park is called Buddy Stewart or Byron Stewart but the photos of the old historic buildings are from across the highway over at the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum. This park does have lots of picnic tables and open space for gatherings but there are no bathrooms or portapotties anywhere. There are some great fishing spots but no fish. Guess theyve all been caught. During my visit I saw trash on the grounds and had my path blocked by some hungry and cranky geese. So if you go to this park just be sure to bring a roll of toilet paper and some bread for those geese. #Cleburne

Nice walking park and a relaxing place to fish. My only complaint is that the mosquitoes can be overwhelming. It would be great if the city would spray for them a couple of times through the summer. Especially one like weve had this year with so much rain.

Great place to relax, unwind or fish the river banks. Olenty of Bicycle trails too. Watch out for the resident geese as they like to chase humans as they protect their territory...lol

Its a good place to go to get away and fish for the bank. The only thing I disagree with it is where you have to park its a long walk from your vehicle but a nice shaded place with the trees good place to take your dogs for a walk to

Broken Benches. Trash. Hasnt been updated in years. Shouldnt be considered a park because of the lack of facilities. The City If Cleburne needs to do something about this so called park. Restrooms, Playgrounds, allow and encourage food trucks and a snow cone stand during the spring, summer and early fall.

St

Its a great place to take family fishing, and just go and relax, and we feed the ducks

Ra
Review №32

This is a good place to canoe or kayak when testing out a new boat or spending time paddling with family. Water depth varies between just a few feet deep to 18 feet in the channel in the middle of the river. The river flow is slow and there are plenty of trees that provide shade over the river. Be aware that the water is murky and there are water snakes lurking in the scrub and weeds along the banks so this not really a good place to swim. Also note that the boat ramp area is on the opposite bank from the main park and is accessible by driving across the bridge. City and county police and constables patrol this park and enforce laws and check fishing licenses. Have fun but, please, pick up your trash and fishing rigging and dont let your pets bother the ducks.

There are beer bottles and trash everywhere. I dont know if the bees were drunk but they kept attacking me. My nephew stepped on a snake that had been decapitated. Over all it was a weird experience. Its a pretty little spot to fish but it needs some cleaning.

I go fishing here with my family all the time. Definitely has adequate shad and tables. The downside....even though its a public park there are NO RESTROOMS. And the lawn service avoids weedeating the grass along the shore so you have to find a spot with no grass to cast.

Ok so as someone who is out of town rating this park come as an outsider looking in. This park needs some love. First the roads and parking lots need to be fully paved and re-done. If you dont have a large off road vehicle dont bother coming. If you do you might not make it out.Facilities are pretty much nonexistent there are no bathrooms which is shocking because they have run down down picnic tables that are barely able to be used.Up keep of the lawn and landscaping is barely done. The soccer fields are a bit high when walking through making it difficult for any one to play on.This park is the tale of two parks. The side where you fish and play soccer is terrible but if you make it over to the other side of the highway where the historic Chiselholm Trail is the park is very nice. Over all dont come to the park, its a disgrace to the city of Cleburne and the state of Texas.
