The park has a variety of local rehabbed birds on display, a pond and lake, an indoor nature center with turtles and snakes on display, paved and crushed shell walking paths, a butterfly garden, a bird watching blind, a bat house, indoor and outdoor teaching spaces and more. A 14 foot alligator lives in the lake. We didnt see him, but were told he likes laying on the sandbar. I liked it so much Im considering volunteering!

This was a very calming and relaxing place to visit and walk around. The aviary birds were very fun to watch. There is quite the long trail you can do around the place. You could probably wrap yourself around a couple trails to get a good three mile walk out of it with a little bit of repeating. There is a nice classroom with some events that go on. Theres also a pretty cool landmark windmill there. This truly is a gem of Clearwater.

I consider myself so fortunate for having to visit such amazing Nature Trails here in Florida.Ever since I moved here, I had been to numerous excellent Nature trails in my neighborhood & without a doubt, Moccasin Lake Nature Park is one of those.A bit Compact in terms of area, however, It’s an abode for Peafowls, they keep roaming around in the Park eating or dancing, some probably flaunting how so beauteous they are.Multiple Wild Birds including Hawk, Owls, Eagles staying quietly in their Sheds, Moreover, there’s a Playground for kids.My family & I had a wonderful time exploring the Park & Wildlife, I also encountered A baby Turtle.#Wildlife #Trails #NatureParkP.S— You can visit this Nature Park absolutely Free of Cost. The park closes at 5.The premises is Pet Free & Smoke-Free.Accessible parking available too.

I always wanted to visit this park since move in to US and now regret why I didnt do it before. It has nice sandy trial as opposed to concrete trials in other places. Their wildlife presence is amazing. Peacocks, otters, ducks, turtles. Butterfly garden is closed due to covid. This peacock is little crazy it checks out every car and it fights with its own reflection. I had to push him away from an SUV. Then she decided to check my car. Funny bird.

Absolutely great park. Free entry. It has a wonderful bird area for rescued and recovering birds with a nature center with helpful and fun guides. If you like nature trails, this is the place for you. There is also a very cute cabin with cushioned rocking chairs out front where you can relax. I think its intended as a classroom or the dining area but it was lockedwhen I was there. There are some live animal exhibits which are mostly some very sad looking birds caged inside of aviaries. I felt very bad for the birds.

What a nice little park right in the middle of a neighborhood! They have rescued birds of prey that look very well taken care of. The walk is shady with lots of little twists and turns. The park seems well maintained and clean. They have nature classes and tours as well as specialty programs regularly. The park itself is free but there is a small fee for the classes and programs. They also have a venue that can be rented out for events and other programs. I enjoyed my walk and saw a variety of birds along the trails. You can hear the highway from most anywhere within the park but that is to be expected when it is located in suburban Clearwater. I recommend it if you are looking for a bit of nature without a long drive. Very nice!

This is by far one of my favorite parks to visit in Pinellas County. The visitor center in the beginning of the park has some pretty cool animals in tanks (plus nice, clean restrooms). The park itself has some awesome trails and wildlife to see - for example, their collection of birds of prey (all animals that have been rescued). I was fortunate enough to see a green anole (which is the lizard that is ACTUALLY native to this area but rarely seen). The playground is also a blast. There is an app that the kids can download and scan the different pictures around the playground to play different games.

Today I went to this park and was pleasantly surprise. I wanted to walk a trail in a shady area and this park was recommended. First, a couple of wandering peacocks just happened to be at the gate when we arrived. Before going on the trails, there were various displays with different varieties of owls, plus a culture and an American Bald Eagle. All were there for rehab or because they could no longer survive in the wild. There was a butterfly garden. The trails were an easy walk and mostly wide except on the boardwalks. Not too much in scenery but it was nice and shaded. The park was well kept and had a lot to offer considering there is no admission fee.
