A fantastic experience all around. If youre tired of shelling out tons of cash over at Clearwater Beach, simply cross the bridge and come next door to Sand Key Park. Parking is only $5 vs. $30 at CW and you get the same white sand beach experience with less tourists. Theres public restrooms and a small grill on the beach. Bring your own chairs and avoid the $30 rent-a-chair racket next door at Clearwater. 10/10 WILL come again. Took some incredible photos of small sharks and a stingray at sunset. Oh and I could write a whole paragraph about the sunset alone. One of my favorite places in Tampa so far.

Beautiful park! Pleanty of parking in all areas for beach time or the nature trail as well as a dog park. One of the biggest well kept dog parks around, with small dog and large dog areas and water stations. Parking is 5 bucks but if you go often you can get a one time fee year long pass.

The most enjoyable beach in and around Tampa. It is clean and the water was cold with great visibility below the surface. I love that the restrooms are easily accessible and there was a concession for snacks, drinks, and some beach toys. This is my go-to Tampa beach.

A beautiful beach, not too crowded due to covid-19, but just a well kept shoreline not over commercialized or oversaturated with hotels and private homes. A small fee for parking and a short walk to an amazing gulf view!! A word of caution, do not eat or bring food on the beach or you will be swarmed upon by seagulls and they will literally take the food from your hand going into your mouth! I personally witnessed a young girl getting bit on her finger and cheek.

Outstanding community park. This hidden gem is such a great resource and option for folks in Clearwater. This park is very reasonably priced to park with a low daily fee. The short walk to the beach then allows you to enjoy the water and great views. There is a nice trailer/building just off the beach to get some food and/or drink as well. I didnt use it this trip, but theres plenty of space to walk around the park to get some exercise; theres a dog park for your animals and looks like theres also a number of spots to put a pole in the water. Tremendous.

My wife and I had the great pleasure of spending a day on the beach here in August 2020. The park is absolutely beautiful with very clean facilities. On duty Lifeguards, beach rentals, and food vendors all made for a great time here. The pictures say it all. It was on my bucket list for 52 years to just be able to see the ocean and this was the perfect spot to do it. No other view I ever get of the ocean will be the same having made this my first...... Great Beach.... !!! I am blessed to have been here!!

Very clean beach with beautiful views just south of the crowds. We were there at low tide, so one could walk out quite a ways before needing to actually tread water. Beautiful Gulf of Mexico views stretched as far as the eye could see. Lots of parking and access to the beach, but it us a bit of a walk, so people that have difficulties getting around may need assistance and the occasional break.

First time at the ocean in 28 years. Never been to this one. Visiting son and wife.It was a beautiful beach. Clean and not over crowded. I am 68 years old. So have to be careful. They had been before and loved it. So they took me there. Awesome place. Nice outside showers to RINCE the sand off. And changing area that were nice and clean was a nice thing to have to change into dry clothes. Will go back before I leave to fly back to Tennessee. Thank you and God bless.

Im giving it four stars because we went there to fish and I do not recommend going there to fish. I guess you have to get there at a certain time to make sure you get on the pier because if youre fishing from the sidewalk you are definitely going to lose at least one of your rigs. Its very Rocky and my hook got snagged twice. I didnt catch anything but my cousin caught a shark, a hammerhead shark my husband also caught a small fish and some guy far away caught a pelican. Everybody was safe and no animals were harmed during my visit. I think that my rating might have been different had I went there for the beach or the park period it was pretty rainy and overcast so there wasnt a lot of people there.

The beach is amazing and I love that you can park right in it. The star deduction comes from their recent parking rate hike. You used to be able to pay hourly, but now its a mandatory $15 all day with no option for lesser time. Not that $15 is a fortune, but for those of us that only go for 1-2 hours, its not worth it. If Im not mistaken, the fine is only $10, so its worth it to just get the fine!

Beautiful beach, lots of shells if you arrive early. Some shaded picnic areas with great views. Dog park. Covered pavilions. Places to fish and surf. Very seldom is this beach crowded like Clearwater Beach. Lots of parking. Pay at the meter with credit card, $5.00 all day. Food vender on site. Restrooms and changing rooms too. This is the best beach in Florida in my opinion.

I probably shouldnt even rate this place because its a little hidden. Its just as beautiful as Clearwater Beach but far less crowded. Its just a short drive down the road but the water is the same, the beach area is bigger and more open. There are snack bars there and chair rentals but there are no restaurants to walk to like CB or IRB, but that can be a good thing, parking was reasonable at $5 all day. You know what on second thought I wouldnt go there if I was you, then itll get crowded and I wont go there anymore.

Surprisingly nice beach! Plenty of amenities including bathrooms, showers, lifeguards, food, etc. There was plenty of parking ($5/day) and even some trails to walk. The beach itself was expansive and peaceful, despite being somewhat in the middle of town. Lots of shells to examine and inlet rocks to climb on. The sand was fine and easy to lay on with just a towel. I would definitely return!

This is the best place to go if you are looking for a beach that isnt a tourist trap. $5 to park all day per vehicle. They have a public restroom and shower. There are life guards on duty. Really busy on the weekends so parking depends on your luck. The facilities like restrooms are clean and properly maintained. The trash cans are accesible and readily available throughout. The showers are open with good water pressure. Definitely will be back, be sure to arrive early in the summer because the rain is unpredictable in Fl. We have been to several beaches between Texas and Florida on this road trip. This has to be our favorite beach access point in Florida so far! There are 4 RV/boat designated parking spaces. All other access points don’t allow RVs or they have small parking spaces. No overnight camping and no pets on the beach (get with the times and stop hating on dogs!!!), so deducted a star for that. There is a really good sized dog park with a wading pool for the pups to cool down in near the RV spaces. There were restrooms nearby, but we did not use them. The day we were there, 6/24/20, there was a lot of sea grass. It cost us $5 to park for the entire day. Overall good for all day trip.

We love this beach there is a sandbar so its safe if you have kids for them to be able to play during high tide Its actually deep enough for adults to have a really good time there are always stock bathroom facilities and plenty of parking spaces The thing that got us at first was its $5 to park but your pass is good all day So you could leave for lunch or some shopping and come back and watch the sunset... Often times regulars to the park will even give you the pass They just bought if theyre leaving. The one downside to this park is it is quite a long walk from your vehicle to the ocean but it does make for a peaceful ocean scene weve been there many times this time we actually saw dolphins out by the swimming markers... There are fish that you can see swimming around with you. There are showers and clean changing rooms available as well. Just over the bridge from the crowded tourist spots Sand key Park in Sand key Beach is truly a gem.

Great beach for families. Avoid the main hustle and bustle of Clearwater and come here instead. We went in late June, around 4pm the water temperature was like a warm bath. Plenty of facilities there including clean and well maintained toilet block, showers to rinse off after beach and ample parking. Recommend shoes if little shells bother you, but bare feet is probably fine for most. Stay for the sunset over the water and youll feel like youre on the west coast. One of the better beaches weve been to in the area.

This beach is one of the best around. Just try to avoid going after heavy rain for the best experience, as the water wont be as clear, waves will be choppy. This is such a beautiful beach and park to go to. Today was our first time going to the beach since the pandemic and I must say that people were respecting others and social distancing and still having such a great time. Also it was nice to see the lifeguards and the police out monitoring everything. The beach was nice and clean, the water was a beautiful teal blue color and the weather was outstanding with no rain until we left. Sand Key is one of my absolute favorite beaches to go to and I love the fact that its not so rocky and that there is a sandy beach.... We cant wait to go next time summer.
