Awesome experience, the course was in great shape from tee to green. Pro shop was great setting things up, I had a 2 hole gap between groups as a single. The front 9 was in fantastic shape.A few holes had some green repair but nothing out of the ordinary. Really enjoyed the layout of this course,I will be back to play this again.

The course staff were excellent. Matt. Cote PGA professional explained that due to recent rain the course was cart path only and the course was extremely wet. Our group was aware this would be the case and we chose to play. The greens other than number 1were fine. I was surprised the bunkers were all playable. All members of our group will return again once the course dries out. The foundation does excellent work and deserves the support of the entire community.

I believe I wrote a similar review about one year ago. I don’t understand why you don’t have the 100 yard red sticks and the 150 yard blue sticks as markers in the center of the fairway. We could all improve our game and probably play more relaxed and faster. Looking on the cart path is NOT convenient or practical on most shots. Otherwise I love your course. It is in great shape and the entire layout is fun and different for each hole. With that one change already noted, I would give a “5” on your review. I look forward to playing your course again! One final note on an improvement that I have found on many courses. If there were one yardage marker, probably a 150 yardage marker, on just the par 3 tee boxes, this would help club selection and improve a golfer’s game. As the tee box markers are moved forward and backward to preserve the grass, distances on the stone markers and scorecards can be misleading and result in poor club selection. I’ve played many courses with both these markers, and just can’t understand why your course doesn’t have both, let alone either of these improvements.

Had a good time and a lot of fun. Would definitely come back. The clubhouse staff are very friendly. If there was one thing that could have been better was the water on the course. Dont know if it was the rainfall from the day before or if the sprinklers were used early that morning but the fairways were squishy.Otherwise I had a good time.

The course is in pretty good condition, the only gripe I have is they really need someone to check on the players speed. We had a twosome that jumped in front of us on the 10th hole. They had three in a cart ( women) that was not golfing. They were taking at least 2 or three tee shots on the tee box . Which really was annoying.

Course is fun but CLAYTON had no customer service skills. Give us 4 a coupon prior week. We book early and on there websit to play again the following weekend. Get to course give coupon when paying and CLAYTON states you book on our website at higher rate so 2 things. Now 1 we had to pay more then if we would of just walked on and 2 can’t get the discount with the coupon he gave us because we must pay the online booked rate. So dumb. CLAYTON all you had to do was say sorry book as call in at reserved time we had and then could honor your coupon. But noo you just wanted to not listen and argue with a paying customer. 9-20-20

First time here. The cart situation seemed to back them up a little bit it was very busy on a Tuesday mid day. I liked the course layout a lot. T bod and fairways were in decent shape. And greens were fast. They are cut low and they are very hard greens with discoloration but they roll true. Aside from the place needing more water. For anyone who knows anything about maintaining in FL heat I think they are doing well with what they have. A few bad spots on the greens but I really enjoyed the course layout a lot. Short track but you gotta hit it straight and still get it in the hole. I will be back.

Incredibly hot day golfing. Chi Chis is a breath of cool air with emphasis on the short game. Tight fairways and challenging greens at an affordable price. Nice thing is during week when its hot, tee times are easy to get and its not crowded. Fairways and greens in good shape. It sponsors a youth program so feel good about yourself helping out while sharpening your game. Also, no alcohol served due to youth sponsorship.

This course is a little less than “okay”. They have been advertising for a long time that greens and conditions have been improving, sadly that is not the case. Most problem areas that were there 2 years ago when I visited and played are still apparent. Many places simply do not have grass growing, and the ground seems to perpetually be wet (rain or shine). Even the well manicured greens (maybe 5 of them on the 18 hole course) will not hold your ball or allow your ball to spin. For the value, I think it’s a decent option but until they spend less money on advertising and more on getting the course in a better condition I’ll go elsewhere.

We called and they told us last cart out was 5:30. The big sign on the door says last cart out at 5:30. We were here two weeks ago and they said last cart out 5:30. We drove here today from St. Pete and got here at 5:10 and the indifferent attendant said “no it’s wrong. It’s 5”. His attitude showed he didn’t care. The range attendant didn’t understand why he said that. Last time we came it was nice and so this was very disappointing. Luckily there are plenty of other golf courses to play around here.

If you like 7 hour rounds, poorly maintained landscaping, and fairways that are also the rough, this is the course for you. There is no beer cart, rude “usuals” that try to give you advice in your backswing, and narrow “fairways” with over fertilized greens. If this was a cheap course I would understand but it’s just as much as local courses like Cove Cay and East Bay that are leaps and bounds better. Course over books for what they are capable of and it’s not worth waiting for. Like I said go play another local course there are plenty better.

Short but nice layout. But way too many golfers on the course. No rakes in traps. Long waits on every hole. Course and greens very dry and hard as a rock. Cannot hit into greens. Mounds and grass around the greens are burned out, so not too much grass to chip on around the greens. I think they are into volume and not quality. Cannot recommend.

Absolutely the worst golf course i have ever played at. Actually played 3 holes and left, it was that bad.For starters the course is a par 62 and under 4000 yards (not a par 69, 6000+ yard course, as advertised on Golf Advisor, Golf Now, and 18 Birdies). They never mentioned greens were under construction, it was merely in the fine print when we booked it through Golf Now. However that wasnt the most upsetting part. The tee-boxes were complete mud, maybe 20% grass, if that. Greens werent mowed in well over a week and the holes were filled with mucky water. Plus there was dead grass piled up with muddy patches in the green. They could at least rake the greens in the morning. We left after 3 holes and asked for a refund because of the terrible course conditions and the false advertisement of a 6000+ yard course par 69. The 2 men in the pro shop did not care of our concerns. Acted as if we were fault for playing such terrible conditions and refused a refund. We still left and played at Lansbrook Golf Course 100x better and friendlier staff.I have never reviewed anything in my life but i felt so scammed today. I felt i needed to save others the trouble.AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE COURSE. TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This golf course, like others in Tampa Bay, has suffered from the unusually severe weather changes for the last few years. But now with the improved irrigation systems and course modifications, Chi Chi will be one of the best conditioned and challenging golf courses in the area. Bring your straightest drives and sharpest iron play if you want to score well. No two holes are alike and each one offers a different challenge. This is my home course and theres no reason to play elsewhere. If youve been disappointed in the past, give it another try. Youll be pleasantly surprised.

Decent enough course. Certainly a good price. As advertised, they have a lot of sand bunkers on the course. What I hated was the rake situation. There are no rakes in the course. Instead, they put a rake on each cart. If your ball is not in the green, you pretty much have to bring the rake with you asking with a couple clubs. Either that or do what some do and not bother taking the bunker. If your a good target golfer and never in the sand its not a problem. I imagine that if you want to walk the course, they must have you a rake to put in your bag for the round. Very strange indeed.

Played with my adult son on 1/1/2015. This is the 4th time we have played here. Course is always crowded and we can deal with that issue. Paired with 2 beginners who were strangers to us and each other. Starter let 2 husband and wife pairs play ahead of us as twosomes. We waited over every shot and gave up looking for playing partners lost balls after the 3rd hole. On #6 a relatively short par 3 we were on the green in regulation and watched in horror as our playing partners hit multiple tee balls into the street to the left. Players Assistant was polite and apologetic but did not put the 2 twosomes together or do anything to remedy the situation. We finished 9 holes after 2 hours 48 minutes and made the election not to continue. This is the 3rd time that we have quit after 9 holes. We pay for 18 holes and wind up quitting after 9. We WONT be back until Chi Chi can guarantee a 4 hour or less round of golf. I suggest that you raise your prices, encourage players to use the appropriate tee boxes, foursomes only on busy days and do not allow players on the course in blue jeans and tee shirts.

Chi Chis just put the finishing touches on a major renovation of the golf course. The results are excellent. 18 brand new greens have been installed. 18 new tee boxes for kids have been constructed. A number of adult tee boxes around the golf course have been rebuilt and leveled off for a flat hitting surface. New bridges were constructed for carts approaching the 9th and 18th green (the approach shot on #9 now also looks totally different), while cart paths have been rebuilt on about 15 - 20 percent of the golf course where it was truly needed. My compliments to James Poulter and Chi Chis for putting so much time and money into upgrading the course for the last six-plus months. It looks wonderful and is now a pleasure to play.

I was not in love with the layout. A few signature holes were made difficult in dumb ways (few super narrow holes). Greens were small and just generally the course seemed beat up. Most holes were very short.Staff was friendly. Check-in desk gal quite nice. There was a starter & marshal working the course. Tried their best to keep pace up but a 4 some one group ahead was a problem. We were a 4-some of 20+ handicaps and we frequently waited. 4:20 for the entire round without a stop at the turn.I would not return---too many other options. Somewhat sad, as Im guessing this place used to be more of a gem. Admittedly, the price was right---$30 with a cart.

Allow 4 1/2 hours to play.. try it yourself when you see 6 carts waiting on the first tee give them a call for a foursome to walk on in 30 minutes.. They will tell you come on down we have room..Im a slow learner Chi Chi takes your money and you get in line..To make play slower there is no yardage marker on any par 3 holes. For $5 bucks you buy a brick and put a number on it..I had a 1:12 tee time on Thursday for 3 players and the cart next to me had a 1:05 tee time...4:35 minutes later our miserable round was over.BUT if you want to socialize with other players you can chat with them on a third of the holes while you wait...

My experience started off good with an easy to use website that I was able to use to book a tee time with for a reasonable price for a Saturday. We had a tee time for 10:22am, but once we checked in at 10:00am, i realized we werent likely to get out at our tee time. There was a huge line to get out because the morning was clearly overbooked. We ended up not getting out until 11:30. then, once we got going, it was a constant waiting game for every shot because there was always someone waiting to go in front of us. We didnt complete the round until after 4pm. The course itself was very nice and quite challenging, but the long waits made it difficult to enjoy. Based on my experience, Id be unlikely to return or recommend this course to a friend.
