Love love love the area, the people, the play, the immersive and close knit experience .I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a different theater experience or show always a great time with these fun-loving people.

Great venue- hidden gem! The play was really well done and the intimacy great! Its highly interactive and you are part of the play where you move to different scenes with actors and partake!

Really enjoyed this immersive theater experience; you feel like youre part of the show. Saw The Recommendation and it was incredible. I look forward to seeing more shows here in the future.

This place is a pure hidden gem of the Chicago theatre scene. Every production of theirs I have seen has been excellent. There is a love and care that comes from the casts and staff of the place that feels very different than other theatres. I love seeing shows here.

It is so nice to have a downtown experience in the Irving Park neighborhood. The stage changes with different productions and it is very unique. They offer signature cocktails and desserts. It is a fun night out!

Number one I am not a theatre person, but decided to check this Southern Gothic out. They are new to the #southloop #community and I love supporting new businesses in the neighborhood. This show is brilliant and I intend to return with more friends!! It was a great date night., play and then dinner! My partner thoroughly enjoyed it as well and hey with your ticket you get three drinks that the cast were drinking in the play. You sort of become part of the play...

I would give the performance we saw, Southern Gothic, 4 stars. The cast deserve 5 stars as their performances were outstanding! However it was much too hot during the show and they cram too many people into the space so you cant often see whats going on during certain scenes, because there is nowhere to stand. Also I found myself distracted with worrying about being up against the wall and out of the way of the cast, which took away from the show. If it was less hot and they sold about 5-6 less tickets, this would be a 5 stars for sure

A tiny little neighborhood playhouse. They have a full bar, which is nice. The theater itself is small, but makes for great viewing. They play we saw was Noises Off. A Target difficult play today relies heavily on timing and props. The actors pulled it off, I laughed my fool head off. I will definitely go back here, I had a great time.

Just saw Southern Gothic.. an immersive theatre experience, it was amazing. Highly recommend the show. 25 audience members, the set is a home you actually wander around with the cast. Lots of split scenes make it full of action. Lots of fun.

Great night out for date-night, girls night or any night. Chic atmosphere, yet you feel at home at the same time. The seating comfy and intimate..its modular so that for each performance, the stage and seating changes up..feels like a different theatre every time. Sets have been awesome and utilize the high ceilings, which makes for some creative decor. Each play I have seen has has its own personality and have been really enjoyable..

It is good to know I have a good theater option in my neighborhood. The playhouse is cozy, but their chairs are really comfortable and swivel so that everything on the stage is directly within your view. The bar also has a pretty good beer and cocktail selection to choose from. The ticket prices are also so reasonable that it could become a recurring post brunch ritual for me.

Wonderful performance! Went to see Southern Gothic and it was truly an unique experience. The set was amazing, and the acting was great. I will certainly follow to see what other shows they will do.

Excellent venue with plenty of space and comfy seats for your viewing pleasure. The bar was well stocked and with a good selection. The show King Liz was well directed and played amazingly by the cast. Looking forward to more shows in the future for this theater.

What an experience! If you get the chance to see Southern Gothic, do it! It is theatre like youve never seen it before. The theater itself is really cool, and the staff are super helpful.

This is a new (2-3 years old) black box theater that can be configured for each performance. Ive had an consistently excellent experience enjoying provocative plays. Since the audience sits in comfortable barrel swivel chairs, its an immersive experience.

Have been to every performance so far, it is such a fun atmosphere and a wonderful theater. Along with getting to text in your intermission drink order, the bar has new specialty cocktails based on the show! Cant wait for season two, make sure you get there soon.

This is one of my favorite venues for Chicago Storefront Theater. It might almost be described as luxurious. Their top shelf seating is a swivel lounge chair, with a small table between seats to hold your cocktail. But their regular seating is also pretty comfortable. Artistically, they produce consistently top-notch theater, starting with good programming, expert direction, quality acting and a staff dedicated to making your visit comfortable and enjoyable. Theres plenty of on-street parking, although I typically Uber to this one because I like their booze and swivel chairs; when I leave, including an after-performance drink, Im usually borderline dangerous driving a car, so Uber is the only sensible way to go.
