Date night with the boyfriend. He got us tickets to see “Kill, Move, Paradise.” The theatre was clean and the employees were helpful. The show itself was outstandingly performed. It was thoughtful, precise and moving. I highly recommend!

I love timeline theatee i have seen so many plays by this theater company. I managed to get parking for free on a side street just a block away from the theater. I saw the play KILL MOVE PARADISE which was really good. but the young actor Trent Davis actually steals the play when he arrives in the last 30 minutes or so of the play. this play explores the murder of many black people by the police and explains how often many of the people were doing absolutely nothing and wind up dead by the same people (whom we all pay taxes toward their salary) who pledged to serve and protect. But as we all know that doesnt apply to every citizen of this country

TimeLine Theater is a small cozy neighborhood setting, but dont be fooled, because they deliver powerful, historically based presentations. In this spirit, we saw Too Deep For Your Pocket which centered on two couples lives and experiences in the South in the 60s, intertwined with the shadow of Freedom Fighters. Under the direction of Ron O.J. Parsons, the story comes together in an enjoyable, entertaining way. Worth seeing!

Saw the Cardboard Piano play and it was very good. The acting is intense and real. The alley set up for the actual play makes you feel like you are just outside peeking through the window watching the play go down.

Great theater company that performs historically base works. Small stage theater is one of Chicagos treasures even though it can be uneven. However, Ive never been disappointed by this company.

They produce high quality provocative shows. They have grown to express more diverse viewpoints every season since I initially heard of them. The staff is amazing to work with and you can tell they really care about their patrons. I enjoy working for this company anytime they need a scenic artist to paint their scenery.

Timeline Theatre always has interesting plays based in some way on history. I have been subscribing for many years and over the years have brought about 20 new subscribers to them. I highly recommend this theatre.

Fantastic little theatre, tucked away in the heart of Chicago. Featuring plays and musicals of such great depth and value, Timeline is truly a great experience. Witness amazing works like Blue Paradise that explores the untold story of the Detroit blues club scene in the 40s. Each production is selected to be excellent and is full of rich, real content.

I buy the 4-play series package every year. The research into the historical context of each play as a dimension to a detail you dont get in other theaters. Im not a history buff, and even I can appreciate the research that goes into each play. Though I am sometimes not comfortable with some themes, I always appreciate the acting and the historical research that goes into each of the plays. I always learn new facts and perspectives from every play.

Saw a really great production of Raisin in the Sun here, well acted and highly evocative. The space itself is shared with the Wellington Avenue Church and is very old and shows quite a bit of its age, in fact you could hear quite a bit of street noise during the performance. Not much in the way of nearby parking so Id recommend public transit, also its just off broadway so there are plenty of options for food/drink before or after the show. The company also had an informative feature in the lobby that added to my understanding of the situation of the play.

One of Chicagos most consistently reliable theatre companies, home to some of my absolute favorite productions over the last few years, including the Chicago premiere of The History Boys and an outstanding production of Sarah Treems The How and the Why. Timelines mission is to present stories inspired by history that connect with todays social and political issues, and they do always a fine job of it, using articles and press clippings to shed light on the facts and history surrounding their productions as the audience enters the theatre.
