It’s a bit of an odd bar but is also quite fun. We went there late at night on a Saturday when it turns into a late night gay bar. They music was good and drinks were cheap. There was a $5 cover (cash only) to get in but you could use card. Drinks were really cheap. The bathrooms were really odd, there is no privacy at all and they’re very cramped. Overall we had a fun night.

Charlie’s has our heart. Country Fridays and Sunday Fundays are a wonderfully fun time, with especially cheap drink specials. It deserves all the stars

I met a lot of new people here

I had a great time at Charlies Chicago! The bartenders are awesome! And its not as crowded as other bars in the area.

My friend paid $5 fee yet they wont let us wait for our Lyft inside. Its -8 degree C outside and all they tell me is pay $5 for waiting for the Lyft inside ...its a 3 min wait ;

When it comes to closing the night out Charlie’s is one of my go-to’s. I’ve never had a bad time here with my friends (except for the one time I left my card but that is my fault). I’ll keep coming back for a fun time dancing with friends I’ve known (and the friends I meet when the cheap drinks help)

Do NOT use your card here I had a hundred dollars taken from my bank account and then they tried to charge me again a full day after I left. I dont know which bartender has my card info written down but thanks for taking my rent money. I will change the review after the investigation.

I was in today (1/5/18) around 9pm and a stranger made me feel very uncomfortable while I was trying to read a book by saying very terrible things to me for a long time. The bartender working handled the situation so well. I understand my experience as a customer earlier in the night is different than those that come later on, but this is the kind of integrity I hope to encounter everywhere I go. I love the cheap drinks and I really appreciate that the bartender helped me out. Thanks y’all!

Cheap drinks and fun trivia nights.

Something about this place that I feel comfortable coming back for. Maybe its the fact that they acknowledge me as a returning customer, not like the other places that Ive been to just as long and arent as friendly. Love coming here any day of the week.

Not bad. The staff are really friendly but a lot of the people here don’t dance. They just kind of stand around.

Went with a group of friends. “Bouncer” wouldn’t let my friend in with his passport yet let two other friends in with their passports. Also wouldn’t let me in because I had a photo of my ID and told me I wouldn’t be let in anywhere in Chicago...went to three other places that night with a photo on my phone lol

This the perfect place for after hours. It has a great mix of music and the bartenders keep you hydrated. Be careful in the bathroom boys...the doors swing inward and outward and if you are not looking you can get smacked in the face. Charlies is the place to come when you are drunk and dont want to go home.

Strong drinks and good dance floor, with tons of fog. Popular, yet not usually overcrowded which is nice. If theres a cover its usually only $5

I appreciate that Charlies is available as an after hours option, but I wasnt too impressed with the venue. There is nothing special about the bar, the dance floor is laid out pretty well, though the music was uninspiring. Im sure Ill be back again and hopefully proved wrong.

This bar stays open til 4AM most days, and 5AM on Saturday nights. The service is good, even late at night, They mostly play country but after 2AM they go to dance music. Its a nice blend and has a great floor plan for easy moving around the space even when crowded.

Cheap drinks, new events every night, and amazing+sexy bartenders!! If youve not been to Charlies, youve not been to Boystown! Give him a try today!!

Please educate your staff cause I was hold outside the bar in this weather because your bouncer claimed that my New York ID was fake. We had to call and waste police resources because the guy cant read ID. That is illegal and on top of that they didnt apologize and had a horrible attitude.

Not my speed. Loud with way too much smoke and lights. Partiers would love it though so if thats your thing check it out!

The dance floor is a little on the small side, but great crowd and fun dancing.

Charlies is my home bar. I enjoy bingo every Monday and the people as well.

Really fun place

A little bit of Nashville in the middle of Boystown. The bartenders are somewhat if you coax them into a conversation. The draft beer is cheap and the dance floor is huge. I hear they are moving away from the country theme with dance music at night and the weekends.

Very fun and everybody is friendly. they have the tuesday kareoke nights and everybody sing and have fun. people are very friendly and they always have good specials on drinks. they also serve free food on tuesday nights.

Charlies has been playing extremely loud bass until 4am/5am every day they are open since the Friday of Pride weekend. Our neighbors called the cops and spoke with the bouncer and Charlies still has not turned the bass down. We live almost 2 blocks away from Charlies and have not been able to sleep in our bedroom for 6 nights because the bass is shaking our bedroom walls and bed. The community has not had any problems with Charlies up to this point but this is unacceptable. Charlies, we are begging you to turn the bass down and keep the door to the bar closed. Please respect your neighbors so we can all coexist in the neighborhood.

There is an unwelcoming vibe from this establishment, so far its subpar verses the Las Vegas or Phoenix venue. If youre not a local, try another bar.
