This historic carousel is an absolute delight to visit, especially with children. The horses move up and down except for the outermost ones, and there are even a few deer if you feel like riding a different animal. If you plan to visit more than a few times, consider a membership which gets you unlimited rides for a year and is great for families with small children. The staff are always pleasant, and the carousel is a great option if you need a relatively short excursion with your little ones.

This venue was amazing! I have been meaning to post this review for awhile but time has gotten away from me. We got married July 20th, 2019. We started planning our wedding a year in advanced and I had my heart set on getting married and having our reception at the Butterfly House in Faust Park where it would be all outside. We knew we were taking a risk with the heat being a July wedding but we were hoping for the best. The week of my wedding the weather predicted to be 98 degrees on the day of our wedding. We knew this was going to be miserable for all of our guests and there was not really another option for indoor reception at the Butterfly House. My mom called the Carousel House on Tuesday just to see if they might have an opening for that Saturday to have our reception. Luck was on our side and they did. We booked it and they were so amazing to work with especially so last minute. Tonya, the director met with me right away to go over all the details. She made sure to talk with me about the options and the set up for the night. We were able to drop off all of our center pieces and items the morning of so that we did not have to worry about that before the wedding. Tonya also made sure everything was set up and beautiful when I walked in to our reception. I could not have asked for a more beautiful space. She also made sure all of the guest were having a great time and worked with my caterer and DJ well. Anything that we asked for or needed she made sure to get. I got so many compliments on how beautiful the reception was and the guests love the carousel. The carousel started after dinner so it did not interrupt the dances and speeches. The carousel ran all night and my guests loved it!! Also the price of booking the Carousel House for your venue is very reasonable. I wish I would have originally planned my reception here. Again, I can not say thank you enough to Tonya and her team for making my day perfect!! She literally saved my day and changed it from possibly being a disaster. We had the most perfect day because of her. If you are looking for a wedding venue check out this place. You will not regret it.

We had my daughters small 2nd birthday there (with covid restrictions in place) and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. My daughter loved her unicorn party! Thanks STL carousel ️

We have a great time every time we come here. Never crowded. And cheap. $2 per ride. $5 for 3 rides. We did 3 rides today and were the only family in there. The girl speaking on the mic before and after the rides made it fun, had a smile on her face the whole time, and treated each ride as if we were doing for the first time. Great experience and my daughter loves this place.

This authentic carousel, built in 1921, was relocated here from the historic Highlands Amusement Park after it burned down. It is a fully functional indoor ride. Great visit for young children, especially with the Missouri Botanical Gardens Butterfly house adjacent and a fabulous extensive outdoor play set for them to work of their energy!

Great for fall and winter activities. We have 4 kids that still enjoy carousel and near by playground, so with yearly membership (I think around $70) of unlimited access its pay off. And butterfly house free first Tuesday of the month before noon. So its worth it .

Took wedding pictures there, but could only use our cell phone. just know you have to have permission 2+ weeks in advance to use any kind of camera or professional taking video or pictures. Not what I was expecting, but my pictures luckily turned out pretty good!

My son can go around on this carousel over and over again. Hell pick one hourse and climb up it with a steely determination you dont ussually see on a two year old but he takes the carousel very seriously. Then when the carousel starts moving and the horses start to go up and down he giggles the whole way through and it is music to my ears. If something so simple as that can make my son happy I think I got a good kid. I just hope I can continue to make him happy that easily. LOL

Great place for birthday parties. If your child likes horses this is the place to go. Party room is really big,and they let you bring your own food in. Room rental is a bit pricey but you get to ride the carousel as many times as you want. Even the grandparents get to ride! It is a part your child wont forget!

Such a great place for kids. My daughter absolutely loves it here. She of course cried when we had to go because she loved it so much. Thinking about getting the membership now so I can take her all the time. The workers there were very nice and friendly to the kids. Will be back!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here and upon my last visit, I left pretty disappointed. Lady working the counter during the weekday seemed angry the whole time. Warehouse-like concrete floors give the place a very sterile, non-kid friendly feel. The “You break it, you own it” sign near the merchandise seems to represent the change in mindset of the people running the place. Such a shame

Horrible experience with a party. We got there on time but they were not ready at all. They spent 30 minutes just getting tables and chairs out for the guests but told us no problem, we could have an extra 30 minutes. We didn’t even stay an extra 30 minutes but they still sent a $100+ bill for staying longer! I love the carousel but they lie about their setup and billing.

We absolutely love the St. Louis Carousel! Such a fun atmosphere, air conditioned, and magical for young and old alike. Highly recommend. There is a small $2/person fee for a ride.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had!! I paid $250 to rent the room for my daughters 1st Birthday party and we didn’t have enough time to even cut the cake! The employees were beyond RUDE and disrespectful! When we arrived, the chairs were supposed to be white and they were asking people to get out of their chairs to change them out and acted annoyed that they had to change the chairs. They only give you 15 mins to decorate and set up and then they take your time to clean up and tear down out of the 2 hour party time from 1:30-3:30!! We had to be set up, tore down and cleaned up by 3:30. If we were not out by 3:30, then they were going to charge me $60 per every 15 minutes over. We were rushed to eat, rushed to ride carousel, and then were told that the kids could only ride the carousel one time!!! I paid $250 basically to use 5 tables and the room for 2 hours of pure anxiety and hell.I was told when I rented the room that white table clothes and chairs would be included. Then when I called the day before to make sure everything was going to be ready, they told me I had to rent my own table clothes! I was also told nothing could be hung on the walls or touching the walls! Basically they want you to pay $250 to sit in their room and stare at each other. The kids were very upset that they only got to ride carousel one time for 5 minutes and then some had to miss my daughter’s happy birthday song and smash cake to ride the carousel because they didn’t allow enough time! I spent over $2000 on my daughters birthday planning and decorations just to be told that they don’t allow anything and that most people just have a simple party without decorating!! Why wasn’t I told any of these things prior to renting the space! I rented the space to decorate and have my daughters 1st Birthday be the best experience and it was a NIGHTMARE! I left in tears and sick to my stomach! I had to apologize to my guests for such a rushed and terrible experience!!! If I wanted a simple party without decorations, I would have stayed home and had cake in my home!! I’m beyond upset and hope this review helps prevent others from having the same experience I had! Save your money and go somewhere else!!! I can’t get my daughters 1st Birthday back and experience back!!!!

This is a beautifully restored carousel and I love that its enclosed so it stays nice and cool. Thankfully there was one bench on the carousel because my 2 year old was freaked out by the horses. The park outside is one of the nicest parks Ive ever been to. Awesome equipment for kids of All ages and the rubber style flooring around all the equipment is nice for falls

Rude staff! Over priced! Nothing but carousel! No saftey belt of any kind! Our 5 year old was very worried about falling off.older sister 14,stepped off her horse to stand by her little sister. Was rudely told get back on her horse. Would not give à chance for explanation! Gift shop a joke. Most available @ discount stores! Will not return!!!

Ride the indoor carousel year round! Great for kids. Pricing is reasonable. Has a giftshop. Butterfly house is in the same park. I recommend seeing both.

The carousel is lovely! Wonderful craftsmanship. They have some charming gifts in the gift shop. Be sure to check the hours of operation, though. They close at 4 pm. I was taking pictures of the carousel and the ride operator cautioned me not to take photos of the people, so if you go there with your young children, know that the folks there take the safety of the youngsters quite seriously.

We went here to take pictures for a wedding, but the entire wedding party was rudely turned away. We were fully prepared to pay to ride the carousel, and were not expecting any special treatment, but we were told this wasnt allowed. They gave us some story about professional photographers in the past vandalizing property, so its now only allowed for those who have their wedding there OR if you pay them $175. This is a prime example of a place trying to take advantage of a couple on their wedding day. I will never be coming here again and I will spread the word to my family and friends.

Super fun... Great activities for the kids, tons of butterflies and the live show was hissing cockaroaches (which my daughters actually held). Good for ages up to 6 maybe higher.

The St. Louis carousel at Faust Park is a MUST see AND ride!!Beautiful music and spectacular historical Carousel . The ride is not short, but moves swiftly as it goes around.

Historic carousel now located in suburban Chesterfield. Not a destination in its own right, but can easily be made into a half-day adventure when combined with the Butterfly House and picnicking in the park.

Went here for a wedding staff was rude and unhelpful actually asked groom and groomsmen to move from where they were changing and wanted us to change in a public restroom which Im not standing on without shoes on. old man and an old lady worst customer service wedding was to end at 11 and at 11 they turned on the lights while the band was mid song and asked everyone to start leaving.

Its a beautiful carousel, fun, affordable & gives you a cool break from the summer heat.

Took some munckins there to enjoy some fun and see the beautiful antique animals. They had seats for all age levels and could probably accomidate some disabled people that may not be able to climb well. Nearby outdoor playground and the butterfly house are a plus.

My niece is 4 and loves carousels. Great place to take younger kids.

Horrible..If I could give them 0 stars I would. Its spring break, so I decided to take my 8 year old, twin 3.5 year old, and almost 2 year old to ride the Carousel before we head over to the Butterfly House. We purchased our tickets and the children pick their horses, all in the same row and we wait. The man running the Carousel asks them their ages and I said 3.5 and almost 2. He then proceeds to tell me they are too young to ride as I must be standing next to each one. I explained weve ridden twice before and there was never an issue-in fact my children were younger then. He then became belligerent and told me I had to get them off. I told them this was unacceptable and his attitude was horrible. He then told me I could speak to the Manager and she didnt even get off her phone (she had a conversation going with her wireless headpiece) as she was issuing me my refund. Completely unprofessional! I stated a sign needs to say 1 parent PER 1 Child as the current sign does NOT state this. They should have asked me their ages when we bought the tickets-and not let them get on and me to have to PEEL them off the horse. This was completely unprofessional and bad business. I will never go back and will be writing a letter to their Foundation.

Carousel itself is normal, nothing special about it other than the fact that its indoor. Kids enjoyed the two rides.
