It was gorgeous. Also the trails are great to bring small kids on because they are not steep or narrow. There are also different trails mingle with each other so if you want a short or long hike you can add on. There is lots of nature and as you see in the photos you are walking in a fall wonderland.

Came here from Atlanta for mountain biking and was pleasantly surprised with the very well taken care of trail system. The route was well-marked as long as you pay attention to the signs and the trail maps are great. The remains of the storage bunkers that you find on the trail are really cool; dont forget to shout at the top of your lungs when youre inside of one for the insanely awesome reverberate echo.RE: Mountain BikingTrail-wise it reminded me of all the flow and jumps youd find in Dupont State Forest; just missing the waterfalls. I always love the small skills practice areas by trail heads and Enterprise delivered on that as well. Excited to return.

Wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors. Many trails for hiking, biking, and horseback. Lots of wildlife. Only complaint is that you cant carry your legal firearms. Only criminals and those wishing to cause you harm can legally carry. You are merely a future unarmed victim. Very sad when people dont use common sense. Its not the ones who obey the laws and are good citizens that we need to worry about. But theyre the only ones obeying this requirement.

We went hiking here. It is a great place to hike. The trail markings need some improvement, so keep track of where you are using the map and maybe a compass. Your cell phone will work most everywhere in the park, so that is an option for orienteering. I would like to see blaze markings on the trails.

Excellent, wide, well-marked, groomed trails through the forest with occasional benches, picnic tables, trash bins, parking, restrooms, and playgrounds. There truly is something for everyone here whether you are walking your dog, riding your horse, running, biking, pushing a wheelchair, or entertaining children. This park is absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

If you have never been are are planning on hiking or biking be careful where you park some one-way roads do not allow biking or walking. I would not park at one of these parking areas as it can be very difficult to find your way back. Try to use a big parking area or one where there is an intersection near by. And many thanks to the park ranger who drove me back to my car after my bike broke.

A great location to go hiking, especially with your dog. They have sporadic trash and and pet waste stations so you always have a way to pick up your dogs waste and throw it away! There are picnic tables and bathrooms next to a little overlook of a lake (though its a bit murky). There are bathrooms throughout the trails, you can enter the first ammunition bunker, which is fun, and there are many trails for any kind of hiker. Easy trails, medium difficulty trails, and some harder trails. Is there are separate biking trails so you dont have to worry about running into people.Irs a great spot to just enjoy nature with easy and convient access.

I have been going to this Park since they opened it. Whether you would just like to drive through, not even getting out of your car, it is a nice scenic view, depending on the time of year chances of seeing wildlife, especially dear is very high. There are several things to do here from bike riding, walking trails, hiking trails, all with different levels of expertise for the less active/beginners to the more advanced trails for the more active/ experienced athletes. Or you can be like me, and simply go enjoy the wild life and beautiful scenery.

The best place in the area for hiking. The trails are breathtakingly gorgeous. Every kind of trail from advanced to simple. My favorite is Hidden Lake Trail and yes, it actually has a hidden lake you can reach by hiking there. You could literally hike all day through so many trails and not see it all. Love it. Great way to stay active and get fit while enjoying nature. Also, they have a driving trail for motorized vehicles only called the Still Hollow Loop, I reccomend that drive. Worth a visit if you are into the outdoors.

We go to this park a lot. Our cross country team runs at the park for training. There is nothing I dont like about this park! You can walk in the woods or you can walk on pavement and either way the scenery is still so pretty. The security here is solid. They do a good job of trolling the park and watching what is going on. The trails are well maintained and they were responsive to remodeling a trail just recently. We love just driving around the outer loop to look for some animal life. Very thankful for such a nice venue for walking/running/mtn biking/road biking...and your kid can get a free book at the visitor center!

I love going to this location, from the time they opened this park, it has been a great place to go and experience nature thats not too disturbed by humans, while still having easy access in the city. There are many locations and tables for picnics or family events / gatherings, miles of biking and walking trails, of different varieties, and degrees of difficulty. As well as access for the handicapped. Just taking a drive through is enough reason to go, and the chances of seeing wild turkey or deer are very high, as well as other wildlife.

You can spend as little or as much time as you want. This is a hiking junkies paradise.

If you want to know how to create a park that can be enjoyed by people of all ages/abilities, come here. Fun hiking trails (hint: if you go further out, youll experience more solitude!), sweet mountain biking trails (including a kids track), nice, car-free roads for road bikes and easy walking, historical exhibits, quiet picnic areas, equestrian trails, and a scenic driving loop. No, there arent a lot of incredible views or lakes and streams like some of the other trails near Chattanooga. These are simple, fun trails.Yes, you have to get a map (especially if its your first time in the park!). It is easy to get turned around if you go further into the park. The multiple, numbered storage bunkers are helpful if you do get lost.Yes, do check the hours before coming. This is by far one of the nicest nature parks I have ever been to. There is something for literally everyone. You can drive through and just enjoy the beautiful Chattanooga scenery from the comfort of your air conditioned vehicle, you can hike, bike, whatever. There is even a nicely shaded playground for the little ones. I cant speak for the walking trails but if theyre anything like the mountain bike trails, theyre very well maintained and cared for. I was impressed with the sheer amount of riding there was to offer. I think I may have taken a wrong turn (ahem) because what *should* have been about 4 miles of mountain bike trail turned into just under eleven. So, get a map or a friend who knows the area! You could be there all day! I love this city...

Went to mountain bike and while the trails are really nice and not too strenuous, there are too many people who visit there. I dont like riding with people behind me because as a novice biker I feel like I am constantly getting in the way of other people on the trails. My main concern was the texture of the trails and how loose they are from the sheer number of people turning up the dirt there. It is extremely easy to lose control of your bike due to sliding and it prevents you from really enjoying the flow of the trail the way I would have liked to.That being said, there are sections of the trails that are packed red clay that are extremely nice to ride and the scenery is very enjoyable throughout the ride. Id recommend if the park is close to you and you have the time for a quick ride.
