Very Nice and clean and quiet place to live

Ive lived here for over 10 yrs and love it despite the high lot fee. The lot rent here is ridiculous. I pay close to $600 a month for just the lot my house is through a private owner but is cheaper then the lot. Lot goes up once and sometimes twice in a yr. Whenever there is a change in management local or regional rules change and No notice is given. In other communities if theres a change or implementing is taking place you get a 30 day notice to comply. Here you dont get that. When local management starts getting strict its a matter of time before you see new local management. Theres a high turnover of renters because of the lot fee. In the past 2mths they are enforcing alot of new rules. They dont want you to have visitors because theres No place for them to park since theres No street parking. If your driveway needs to be expanded they expect you to pay to expand it your expense but when you move you will not be reimburse for your expense. There a lot of Hispanic people that lives here and they are always expanding these driveways and home improvement but they dont realize they wont reimburse for any improvements they do and do well.

Such a horrible living place for kids, and adults. First moved in here was a good place. After a year or so living went DOWN hill really fast. Park manager mike is horrible at his job. He is racist, I don’t know why he still has a job in this management corporation. I would not ever recommend living in this pos neighborhood. Stay away!

This place.... It was nice in the beginning.. Then new homes were moved in. At that point it all went down hill from there. I have seen so many changes in the front office employees.. But with one constant. His name is Mike. Not the nicest person in the world. He has a complex and acts as if he is better than everyone but he lives in the neighborhood too. I have overheard him speaking with people and talking down to them. Its appalling. I have heard so many stories about this place but never believed them until I happen to catch an interaction he had with a couple. Sad thing is, its crazy that no one has created a petition to get him out or no one has actually put hands on him. (And thats just judging from the way I heard him speaking to the couple). Its also crazy that corporate does nothing to resolve the issues that he creates.

Ofice lady super. Single shower very private. Had coffee and water for sale in tiny office which was great since i wouldnt make coffee or keep anything cold.

Do NOT move here. We are trying to get out asap. Lot rent is ridiculously high and goes up every year. Not to mention I walked up to check my mail yesterday and there was a naked woman changing in the office parking lot, looked like her and her buddies were skinny dipping in the neighborhood pool. Disgusting. Im pregnant, would like to swim for exercise but just cannot bring myself to go to the pool now. Most people working in the office are crooks. Cars get broken into. Ive known multiple people whos houses have been broken into. I wouldnt recommend anyone move in here. One office employee in particular, Mike, talks down to everyone in here and acts as if hes better than everyone else but he lives here as well. Hes racist as hell. I cant believe he even still has a job.

I’ve lived here for 2 years. My lease was up and I was informed that I wouldn’t be able to resign because of late payments. I was informed that my lease would be month to month for the next 60 days with a $50 rent increase plus $75 for a month to month fee. I was also informed by Jeff that I would have to move when the 60 days were up. I just think it’s poor management. Being a single parent I’ve faced some hard times but I’ve always paid. Then to tell me I have to leave after 60 days is crazy. People just beware. It all sounds good in the beginning but if you don’t purchase your home in 2 years they just try to find any reason to get you out to flip the property to the next person in line.

Mexicans neighborhood now .Me an my husband moved in when they first begin the neighborhood an t was amazing first oweners brand new all the appliances we started out paying 700 dollars an we was there for 3yrs our rent went from 700 to damn near 900 hundred dollars an month as they got more an more homes down the the hill from 11649 spring Laurel Dr its was hell things started to be worst we thought this was an beautiful place for us to live an grow an soon to buy the lot an the home the office had other plans by going up on our rent so we definitely we couldnt puresue our dream there anyway after staying there I must say it was awesome but now they have a bunch of Mexicans staying with 6 families in one 3 bdrm home managing to pay that rent which is an fire hazzard they just want the money they making it an mexican neighborhood they are all for the Mexicans now sorry meadow Brooke your days are coming .

This is a huge residential area. Seems like the developers had more interest in jamming as many modular homes into this area as possible. However, there is no room for visitor parking. Quite a few streets have signage indicating no on street parking ...

Terrible terrible place to live. The front office is terrible as well. They pick and choose who they want to bother out here and dont come fix absolutely NOTHING and you paying this high ass rent for them not to come fix things in a timely manner. Best believe you will definitely have a notice on your door when they want some money or want you to fix something around your house when they want you to fix it. I wouldnt reccomend thi place to NOBODY ever!! I cant wait to move out of here in the next few months!!

Decent neighborhood.... dont leave your stuff out

My husband and i have owned our own home in Columbia for 20 years, never evicted , 4x the amount of income for rent. moving to Charrlotte to build home and be close to family. So we thought Meadowbrook would be perfect match for our needs. Did want to give company benefit of doubt after reading all the negative reviews on this website and on Meadowbrook but, after going through everything between the sales office and underwriting I can see now people that have worked with this company before and left reviews were correct. The sales staff is not up to date on underwriting policies and unaware of the correct documentation needed for home . I found even after I submitted the application they couldnt find it, misspelled our name three times in office with us there looking for it. finally found it using a phone number when found said the application did not go through because of errors even though I fix them on my end. Errors were fixed in office with sales and they resent application . Waited 2 days for reply, called back and again application did not go through due to errors. and theres even more that we encountered with underwriting and sales team that was not professional. I am thankful we found a different house through more professional Property Management. I Guess that living in a trailer community was not what God intended for us.Even though we had to pay an application fee for new home we were approved for , the experience with them far exceeds our experience with Sun Communities. I do now agree with everyones review. Both underwriting and Sales staff very rude and has no respect or concern for people.

Quite and nobody acts a fool

I have lived here over a year and the staff Mike Joseph is very rude and kniving. They are extremely too expensive the corporate is not supportive to the tenants. Extra charges monthly out of nowhere. I have over $ 6,000 for lease credit but cant buy it. But they want me to continue to rent I am so disgusted with the way things are ran and the prices. I will be contacting local news

When I first moved it was great then they started packing the mobile homes in on top of each other people started moving in renting bedrooms out and make drug sales in the community kids are always fighting the police stay at meadowbrook all the time everyday something is going on. Management is the worst never and very rude the water started come out of are shower and into the kitchen it took them almost a week to come fix it and then they put a huge whole in the wall I asked could they come fix it three times they never came it took them over 5mo to come fix the whole in the wall and then they half did it it was a shooting next door to my home so I moved out at this time it was unsafe for me and my family January 2016 I received a bill for charges they are trying to make me pay for these people are very sad I called to talk with Mike the women in the office put me on hold and told me I had to contact sun homes and I told her sun homes didnt put all these charges on my paper they did then she told me she couldnt answer me she can only answer to sun homes now this was the worst mistake I ever made in the 26 years I been on this earth they are over charging people for everything water bills and late fee are $50 if your one day over your rent meadowbrook is slowly turning into the hood please people think before moving to this place how they get everyone is the low deposit to move in so people jump on it but trust me this is NOT worth it at all

They are some sneaky folks in the office there rent for the lot is very expensive they are crooks and Mike is a big lier my experience there was nothing but a jail sentence I brought my home and paid alot for the dirt and patches of grass they should shut down that community I sold my home and had it moved off the lot its was a living hell they didnt like people of color they would try to talk down on them as if they were stupid and uneducated they thought they were running a slave plantation smh slavery still existed there in the community

I own my house and the lot rent is to high and the office manger is very rude...

Our experience with this community was nothing but one big headache!! We went in person to view some homes (all of which were torn up and ruined from ppl who had just been evicted) and still took a chance and filled out an application in the office. We were told 48hrs til we heard anything back. Our 48hrs and then a weekend passed and NO WORD.. So we called the following week and were told that our application must have been lost and asking if we had actually filled it out. So we filled put another online and again were told 48hrs. We kept on them and they finally pre-approved us and sent the listbof paperwork we needed to return. We turned it all in within the week. Days passed and no word from Meadowbrook.... finally after both my mother and myself had tried getting in touch with Drusilla & Frances and my mother leaving a message for the owner, we received an email saying they would not be proceeding with us any further. We contacted Sun Community head corporate guy and have heard back. This place is just unprofessional and a complete joke! Afterwards i read the reviews (which i never would have even pursued the place had i seen them first), and this was probably a mixed blessing!

I cant even begin to express how Id never wish my enemies to experience this poor customer service and the lack of compassion. So as I move into this home wich yes dont get me wrong its nice to be the first person to have occupied the home, but not even a month into living in the home someone decides to break in thankfully I wasnt home. The property manager Mike came after two hours of me waiting and the coups to finally temporarily close drill the glass door Windows and after being informed by the cops that the place was common for break-ins I asked mike why when I asked if it was a safe Neigborhood I was assured that its safe and a community watched area. All lies, on top of it all the replacement of the door and anything in general that was wrong took at least 3tines of me informing them that it has still not been done before someone came out and quick fixed stuff. Then I had an incident where my mail was withheld from me for one month and the respond I receive was someone threw junk mail on the floor and since it look like it came from my mailbox they where keeping my mail in a separate box where i didnt have access to and no one informed me that it was there. How i found out was one day I was lucky to be off and saw the mail man puttibg my mail in a different box. He claimed he had informed the office who then responded they left me a voice mail. This mistery voicemail I never received and in that month I called several times to ask why I have not received mail with no respond from anyone they had no idea so to say was what I was told and to call the post office !!! Worst of it all once I was coming close to the end of the year to finally move out after dealing with all the lack of communication and tenant care. Best behold my home was broken into a second time, Called Mike out who came stayed for maybe two minutes and was gone before the cops even arrived. Unlike the last time I was outside of my home waiting until 1am waiting for things to be Patched up. I lost all my belongings for a second time and the property manager Mike couldnt care less, I guess its my fault for not being home and presenting the opportunity for a second break-in and no one in the community claimed to have seen anything. Best community watch I have ever seen...Not!!! And the cherry of it all I was promised that new windows that where broken into and a new door that actually fit and a new back door that was broken would all be replaced by Monday, mind you the incident happen on a Friday. Monday came around and passed and another week went by and nothing has been replaced as promised. That just goes to show how much they cared about not only your safety in the home but you as a person. So unless you dont have another option and this is all you can find I would Not recommend meadow brook to anyone. I always believed the good outways the bad in a business but this one could not only use new management but better trained people and a REAL community watch!!!

Shotty craftsmanship

Place for pedophiles and drug dealers. They know it and still rent to them. Crack heads and Mike allows it. He lives right next to them and does nothing about it. The police come thu but are always going in the wrong direction

This place could be a great place if they would get some new management in there!!! Mike Lyle is VERY RUDE! EXTREMELY NASTY! he has a lot and I mean a lot of sneaky things going on with him for one my mom puts a money order in the drop box and supposedly it comes up missing he took her to court and she had to come up with that money twice! A police report still nothing has been done! I have made several calls to Chris at corporate and left voice mails ! He is now trying to take her to court for 2,000 and stated in a letter if she dont have it by the 25th he filing a order to have her padlock her rent is only $909 he comes up with all these bogus fees ! But I have walked round the park with my pen and notebook gotten signatures and statements from neighbors who was very willingly to stand behind me they have been having issues with him also and he has been reported numerous of times!!! My next step is to take this to the court and local news station I love my mother to death and will not stand and let a conniving no good person as mike good over on her! SOMETHING WILL BE DONE!
