I have played here at least 10 times in the past yea, and while I usually have a moderate-to-good experience, I was very upset about a recent experience. 12:30 pm Sun tee-time, finish around 4:30; walk back to my buddys truck (parked in the higher lot closer to the entrance), unfortunately his passenger window was smashed in a random act of vandalism. Not the clubs fault, however, when he went back to the clubhouse to ask of they had cameras, saw/heard anything, etc, they just threw up their hands with an sw shucks. Figured that a free round would be a nice gesture on their part, but I guess nobody really cares. So from now on, I will spend my greens fees elsewhere.

Our company hosted a tournament here on a Friday for one of our best customers company, about 30 players in total. The event was great and the Traditions staff were good to work with. The course was in great condition and far exceeded our expectations. We would definitely consider it again to host a similar event. We did groups of 4, captains choice.

Tradition was great. Played 18 holes with a foursome last Saturday, which was great. Layout is amazing. Be aware of the elevation, itll get you. Course is in great shape!

September 20 course is in great condition, soft & fast greens. Weekend/Holiday Fee was expensive, you can get it on for less than 45 at many CLT courses. Suggestion: Throw in a free range bucket for the higher rate

Played 5/16/2020, the course was starting to come in (Bermuda fairways). Greens were in really good shape. They have put a lot of time and effort in putting this course back on the map as far as conditions are concerned. Definitely a shot makers course. You will use every club in your bag. One worth playing if you havent.

I really like the course and the folks who work there. They work really hard at maintaining a challenging, shotmaker’s course. The greens are tough and have a very reasonable speed. Some beautiful sights to boot.

The course is located in a great place. The staff is nice, and I really enjoyed being there. It is not high brow, but the experience there is fine.

I just played this morning and was pleasantly surprised at the condition of both the fairways and greens. Chris the general manager and his staff have done a very good job getting this course in shape. I plan to join as a member.

This is an excellent course. Greens and fairways were in very good condition. The course is tight and interesting. Good staff. Fair value.I would have given 5 stars except there were a few places on the cart path where there was a choice of turns and no clear signage. Easy fix if they care to do so.Beyond that, I always ask if the facility has a defibrillator in the office.Lots of seniors play golf and every course should have a defibrillator.

Played here a couple times now. Worst greens Ive ever experienced. I hoped they had fixed it, but they havent. Its truly embarrassing that they consider this course playable. By no means should you pay money for this course. I wish I would have taken pictures of the greens to post. Literally dirt patches all over the place. There wasnt a single green that could have been considered remotely smooth. The rest of everything is ok at best. Decent layout. Fairways obviously get too long before they cut since there are grass clumps everywhere...like seriously everywhere. All in all, if I could give a lower rating than 1 star, I honestly would. Nothing against the people there, they just do not take care of this course at all.

Good course, player friendlly, greens are fast

The course was in great shape, but pace of play was a definite problem. There was no starter out there in the afternoon to space the groups out. When my playing partner (whom I did not know) complained about the wait times on the tee boxes, he was just told that it was a public golf course and it was a Friday afternoon as if there was nothing they could do. Had the groups in front of us been told that they needed to play smart cart golf then things could have moved along better. Would still play there again though. Great design and everything was in great shape.

I am new to Charlotte and this course. Understand it has gone through an unfortunate bankruptcy. I have played the Tradition 3 times this summer. The staff is friendly, helpful and eager to reverse the bad press of previous owners and management. The course is in good shape. Grounds under repair are being addressed. Great price value during the week. Fair price on weekends. Found other players polite and considerate.Hope Chris and his staff keep up the good work.

Well maintained and $40 for 18 after 2:30 pm! Pretty good variety in the holes and we had a great time.

Im a high handicap golfer and find The Tradition enjoyable every time. Enough challenges for everybody in your 4 some. Greens are improving, staff is friendly, fees are reasonable.

Nice people, but the greens need a lot of work. They know it and have reduced greens fees. My guess it will take a while to get grass back on the greens

While other courses are burnt up because of the summer, this course looked Immaculate when we played it

I played this course on Sunday April 17th. The fairways, tee boxes and greens were in terrible shape. The fairways had weeds everywhere, the greens were bumpy and the tee boxes were hard and provided very little grass so you were basically teeing off dirt.It does provide a challenge to make shots due to the narrowness and slopes on many of the holes though. If you are looking to play a course that has nice manicured fairways and greens that are smooth this is not the course to play.

The staff was not attentive and seemed more interested in the golf on TV than the people in their lobby. The course was in decent shape and the golfers were polite. I could do without the no personal cooler rule.

Joined this club about 2-3 months ago and was very pleased for the price. Now the condition of the greens are pitiful (understatement). Greens have several bare spots, are full of weeds and very bumpy. Without question the worse greens I have ever seen. It is shocking that people are still paying that much to golf here. I strictly use the range now and wouldnt recommend anyone playing here right now.

I have lived in Charlotte for about 4 years now and played at many courses in and around the Charlotte area. I had heard a lot of good things about the Carolina Trail courses, and I played another trail course a few years ago in Waterford, which I loved, so I had high expectations for The Tradition.I am disappointed to say, however, that my experience at The Tradition was one of THE WORST I have had not only around the area, but in general. The course itself was just awful. The tee boxes were so hard it was a struggle to get tees in. The fairways seemed to be mostly dead and unevenly cut. The greens were the worst Ive ever played on. Some seemed scalped, some like they had not been treated in weeks. We played in the middle of the day (tee-off around 2) and the sprinklers would periodically turn on during the middle of our round now and then. ANYONE who knows anything about lawncare and landscaping knows that when the heat index is over 100 its a terrible idea to water in the middle of the day. You could literally hear the grass sizzling. No wonder the course is so bad -- the landscaping crew clearly has no idea what they are doing.In addition, the service in the pro-shop and grill was just bad. Rude staff who dont even acknowledge the customers or look at them.Not only is this course not worth the $62 normal weekend fee (ABSURD!!!!), but it wasnt even worth the $29 I payed for the living social coupon.Just very, very bad. I wouldnt recommend anyone play here.

Got there at 6:40pm to hit range balls and the guy at the front desk told me the range closes at 6:30pm, but the site says 7:00pm. I see if no one was on the range but there was 7 golfers practicing. Won’t send another dime at tradition again.

Played on 7/29. Greens were in awful condition. $56 for a cow pasture. Seemed like they were trying to kill weeds that covered the green. They tell you no coolers but didnt come across a single cart person. Extremely disappointed and wont be back.

Tee boxes were in poor shape and greens were just aerated and not cut, full of sand. Bunkers werent raked either. Wouldnt come back.

I was a member here about a year ago, and the course was in good condition then. The greens are terrible now. Bald and bumpy patches everywhere. Worst greens Ive ever played at this point.

Called ahead and got me tee time for 2:45 couple comes in pays with no tee time and jumps in front of me i set on the first tee box for a half an hour before I said the hell with it and left why have tee times if you dont honor them
