Great place to grab a quick lunch! You can eat outside or inside. It is an easy walk from most Highland Creek neighborhoods! If you want to go on a walk and grab lunch, a glass of wine, a beer or a cocktail, it is a pretty neat, not well known place that has good food!

Such a beautiful Golf course about 30 minutes outside of the airport in Charlotte. Heavily wooded Golf course, littered with challenging holes and beautiful sights. Its very green and lush, and the course is groomed fantastic! make sure you pick up a course guide in the pro shop if youve never played before, as its like a personal caddy that walks you through each hole. THIS course is a must hit for anyone traveling into the Charlotte area!

This is a course I would play again. Friendly staff which was nice. Course has a good layout, the fairways and tee boxes are in good shape, and the rough got pretty deep in some areas. It is just a fun course to play! Greens were a little slow but it seemed like the course has recently had some improvements made to it so I would suspect just keeping the greens long to get them established while still handling all the playing traffic. Otherwise greens were great, ball rolled well, just a little slow. Help out and fix your divots!

My group played at Highland Creek today, it is in the best shape that its been in for quite a few years. Fairways tee boxes are all in really good condition greens a little on the slow side but overall Ill have my group back here again. I dont know if its new management new superintendent or just a little more money being put into the golf course but what a great surprise and layout

An average course that gets a little narrow with the neighborhoods so close. The price was very reasonable. Grounds staff were friendly, but it was a little loud with all the heavy machinery they were using to clear brush. Plenty of joggers, dog walkers, and fishermen throughout the course.

Sad that they continue to let this course go. Played it 20 years ago and its just not the same. If your a high handicapper this place will fill the bill. Looking for a smooth roll. May want to keep looking. Hope they turn it around. Great location

Greens, tee boxes, and fairways in great shape. Interesting holes. Creeks come into play often. Many sandtraps, well placed. If I have a negative, it would be the gas carts. Otherwise, a perfect golf experience.

Played Highland Creek last week. The course is in great shape even with how wet it has been. Cart path only is always tough. But the course had drained pretty well and the greens were awesome. Worth the money fun layout.

Pretty Little tract that runs through neighborhoods with lovely vistas and moderately challenging hole design.

Course was in good shape. Greens a tad slow than I prefer but I understand given the amount of play. Fun track to play.

Course and greens in great shape fast pace of play

This was our 1st time playing at this course. The course is outstanding! I was part of a foursome and we were enjoying our experience until we got to the 17th hole. Thats when an employee rode up and told us we were an hour behind and to hurry up. We had a 12:15 tee time and it was 4:15 at that time. Once we finished and turned the carts in we were once again shocked at the rudeness by the same employee about us finishing so late. When asked whats the average play time we were told 4 hrs by another employee. Whats so ironic is that we played through the foursome that had the 12:00 tee time who finished 30 minutes after us. We all loved the course but will never go back to this golf course.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I hate paying good money for terrible conditions even worse. The bones of the course are great. Its a great layout in a great part of town and the clubhouse is good. The designer of the course really did a good job. If only the same thoughtfulness went in to taking care of the course.The other reviews left recently are accurate. The worst part to me, though, is that there are things that dont require a lot of money to take care of that arent even taken care of. These guys let weeds and grass grow in their bunkers, which also means they arent raked and prepped. It looked like a maintenance person hasnt even stepped foot in some of the bunkers for weeks. My round there the other day was also the first time Ive ever had to pull weeds in the fairway (big weeds, not little ole things). The greens here are toast. Im sure they know its going to take a complete re-sodding to get them respectable again so in the meantime theyre just kinda bleh. I know its hard for courses to make money sometimes with all of the costly upkeep and thats why I dont mind the $50 but if the course plans on having me back, I gotta see some of that money going into keeping the course up.

Short but challenging course at a fair price.

Fun course. Condition was a little weak. Very wet, greens were pretty good. Price was right! Im sure condition would be better if we didnt have do much rain.

Given the current environment with COVID-19 and what not, a lot of courses in the area are extremely busy. This course was no different however, the experience was still poor. The staff was friendly and nice, no issues there. The course however, was in horrific condition. I will give the benefit of the doubt as there was a crazy storm the night prior but, that doesn’t justify the poorly kept fairways, the cart paths with massive cracks and sunk 1-3 feet in the ground, and unplayable sand traps (partially due to the storm, I will admit). Not to mention it was $50 to play on a Sunday morning given these conditions. Needless to say I will not be coming back anytime soon.

The course is improving at a remarkable rate. Ive played this course from the time it was a gem, through the times it got rough (pun intended) due to mismanagement, and continue to play it almost weekly. The management team and crew are doing an amazing job, and I have no doubt will continue to work hard to restore the course to everything we all know it can be. Putts are starting to roll true again. Looking great everyone! Keep it up.Update: I have become a member again and am very happy with my decision. By far the best value in the area. The heat has hit the course, BUT... the greens are still rolling great, the fairways are in great shape and I still can’t say enough great things about the direction HC is headed.Note to golfers: Please repair your divots. Every member I know does what we can to repair them while we wait to putt, etc. If guests get in on the repair too, everyone wins. The course will be that much nicer your next round.Enjoy your next round here.

Was here as part of the local july 4th celebrations the families of highland creek do each year. Its really fun, and way better than dealing with huge crowds in uptown

Wow what a pleasant surprise. The greens were very good (difficult to read), challenging, no two holes a like, lots of elevation changes, thoughtful placement of bunkers, excellent course design, large greens, not punishing but if you make a mistake youll be losing a stroke. A very enjoyable round of golf. The senior rate (age 60+) of $30 is good Monday-Friday. What a great deal. Ill be back again and again. If you havent played Highland Creek you need to treaty yourself. Snack bar staff very nice, $2 PBR and Rolling Rock. Pro shop staff very professional.. Plus there was a group of young people participating in a First Tee event. Its great to know that Highland Creek is an active supporter of the First Tee. Add that to the many reasons you should be supporting Highland Creek by booking a tee time.

We played in the annual Highland Creek residents tournament today and the course is in better shape than its been in for a long time. It was a lot of fun, everyone was very welcoming, and all the vendors oit there sponsoring were wonderful. Loved the day!

This course has improved a lot in the last year! The layout has always been fun and challenging, now that the maintenance has improved so much it’s a great course to play.

I live 2 miles away from the course. I was a bogies to birdies member in 2014 & 2015 and also a full member in 2016. I left this course in 2016 because the conditions deteriorated and I no longer saw the value in the membership. I played this week for the first time in three years. Anyone who has played here will tell you it is a good layout. The conditions continue to be less the average (even the cart paths are really really bad). My biggest complaint is pace of play. There is no need for 5.5 hour rounds. It felt like most people out playing were beginners. I understand management not wanting to push people faster given it appears cash flow is an issue, that said, if you don’t want to play slow go somewhere else.

Course in terrible condition. Greens the best part of my experience and the best I would rate them is a 2 star. Not any grass to hit off of anywhere. Best part of the day was the nice weather.

I’m not sure what recent reviewers are talking about, or what this course used to look like. The layout of the course is cool and challenging, but the course is in terrible shape. Greens were just redone (?) but patchy and not cut properly. Tee boxes are patchy, bunkers haven’t been filled all year. Go play somewhere else.

The only upside to this course is the layout. Unfortunately, youre not able to enjoy it due to the poorest conditions Ive ever seen. I dont know if the owners do not have money to keep it up, or if it is due to just not caring. Either way, it is a shame as I said the layout is great, and could be a good challenging course. The biggest challenge you have now is trying to find your ball in the weeds (first cut), or the large amount of crab grass chunks growing throughout the middle of each fairway... Id rather hit off of a driving range mat using a rubber tee than tee off of any of their tee boxes... Bunkers have weeds growing in them (not sure how expensive it is to keep bunkers looking good). The only areas throughout the entire course that they seem to be TRYING to fix are the greens, which look to have about at least another 3-4 months before being able to call them greens again. Overall, this is literally the worst playing conditions outside of weather Ive ever played. To how ownership/management can charge $56.00 to play this course should show how they view their customers. My entire group wanted to ask for a refund, but, figured that every other group has probably done so in the past or were thinking the same thing. I understand that they have to generate money to make repairs, but, dont charge the same amount as nearby courses that are in far better shape.Recommendation to ownership; either start putting money back into your course, or lower the rates to dictate the actual product and worth of your CURRENT course conditions.Signed,First and last time customer

Enjoyed hitting a couple buckets of balls.

Paid $49 to play here, in a soggy wet course where supposedly “the greens are great” which is far from the truth. Patchy “new” greens that even when cut that morning did not provide a good surface. Suitable for a 12-24 handicap golfer while the price should be at most $30!

Theyve done a great job of getting the course back in good shape. The greens are looking really good and rolling well. Fairways are in great shape, bunkers are in good shape. One of the best courses for the money in Charlotte.

Played the course earlier this week and the new green are much improved. Course is in good shape and would recommend it to my friends and neighbors.

Picturesque layout, looks like the natural contours of the area were left in during the creation of the course. So be prepared to add a few strokes to your game. I was hitting off balance all day. Friendly staff and a good value. Say hello to Joel the groundskeeper, you might get a little history of golf.

The greens are so much better you won’t recognize them. Hope they can keep them like this when it gets hot. The fairways are greening up quickly. With the new equipment they are whipping this track into shape. If they make as much progress in the next couple months as the last couple it will get hard to get tee times as the word may get out. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

I played this morning and I was pleasantly surprised. There are three tee boxes that had issues and one green with major problems, but the rest of the course was in good shape. I’ve read a lot about how bad the course was, but it was much better than I expected. Definitely will play again.

The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. The course was in decent shape, there was a rainstorm the night before so our expectations were pretty low. Plan to do a fair bit of walking to and from the tees and greens to your cart. All around a good value for your money. I look forward to going back and hope their greens get sorted out soon.

Course was very wet with all the recent rain but the new greens were in great shape layout is nice will be back again when it dries up more.

Greens were a little long but great course and friendly staff

Course is a wonderful layout. Overall conditions were the worst I have ever seen. It honestly felt like the course has been closed all season and it just reopened today...Tee boxes, tired in most respects. Fairways...horrible. Weeds everywhere and honestly its probably been 3 weeks since they were last cut. Besides the grass type difference there was basically no difference to the rough. In all areas of the primary rough it was 5+ inches high and probably hasnt been mowed all season. Greens were punched 11 days ago and they were horrible. Bumpy as all can be, havent been mowed in probably 2 days and if you didnt play a max 2 putt youd probably quit after the first hole. Greens were slower than most fairways are on a normal 4 star course. Sand traps, nothing manicured and needs tons of work on every hole. I paid $40 for a aeration rate but I wouldnt go back for $5. There needs to be someone on every lawnmower, trimmer and roller they have for the next two weeks straight just to get the grass on the course back in decent playing conditions. Totally disappointed and wouldnt recommend this to anyone to play right now.

The golf course was atrocious. Greens were furry and seemed like they havent been cut in days. Almost unputtable. The whole course is just poorly maintained. Clumps of clover and weeds intermittently throughout most fairways. Some holes there was no way to tell when the fairway ended and the rough began. Fairways and rough seemed like they hadnt been cut in weeks as well. Bunkers had grass growing in them on most of the holes. The layout is nice, but just not a great experience. It would take a lot for my group to go back.

Getting better

The course is getting back into shape. Im glad the new management is trying to take care of the course. Fairways are in good shape and the bunkers are getting better. The greens need about another year to look their best but they roll mostly true. Good value for the money and I cant wait to play again.

The waiters ste super nice

Played Sunday. I have literally never seen a worse golf course in my life. Rough so high you couldnt find a ball if you stepped on it. Greens burned out with weeds everywhere. Fairways mowed like blind person gave them a haircut. Driving range a mile away with no signs in sight. And Golf carts has a max speed of 1.5 mph which made the suffering last even longer. You literally could pay me $100 to go back for a free around and I would say no chance in hell. How is zero stars not an option???

This was hands down the worst golf course that I have ever played. I truly wish there was an option to give this review zero stars. I have never in my life played on greens that were so bad. You could likely build a putting green in your backyard that is significantly better than anything on this course. The only thing that even made me aware that they were putting greens were the flags. If you are reading this review and considering playing this course, please take my advice and do not play it. I would not play this course again if you paid me.DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE

Played Aug 26, 2017. This course is in bad shape. Its like playing on a cow pasture. Grass clippings all n the fairway. Some weeds there too. Greens are a mess ...hard to roll a straight putt. The rough is ridiculous. The course as a whole is not well maintained. It used to be one of the best.in Charlotte. Its awful now. Paid 40.00 they did include range balls. I dont plan on coming.back any time soon.

This course has a great layout. It makes you play every club in your bag. However, no one repairs their ball marks, there arent enough bunker rakes and the fairways are average.The condition of the course does not justify the rates.

A challanging layout ... fairways are in good shape ... but greens are in pretty poor shape with bald spots. I can see the management is trying to repair/fix greens and hopefully they will be successful. I enjoy playing there but the greens are a downer. Friendly folks make it worthwhile!

Was hesitant to come due to the poor reviews. However, when I played last week I had a great time, course was in excellent condition. $25 for a weekday round was a steal. Greens were true and fairways/ tee boxes were in good condition as well. Maintenance has done a good job bringing the course back from where it was over summer. Definitely worth checking out during the fall time.

A bit run down, sadly since it is basically in my back yard. Hopefully something is done soon to draw in more business and revitalize the grounds!

The course is back and no longer completely terrible! We just played there and except for the 10th green the course was in very good condition. Very happy to see that Highland Creek Golf Course is born again hard! I will be back again soon.

The staff is awful. Expect to be rushed through your round (even if you are on pace and there arent any groups behind you). We finished in 4:30 and after the first hole, we never even saw another group behind us, but were still rushed by the Marshall. When confronted, we were told that we needed to pick up the pace. After the round, we were also told that the next group was one hole behind us. We waited at the clubhouse after the round and found the next group didnt tee off until 40 MINUTES on the 18th hole. So on top of that they are liars since this group would have been several holes behind. Dont expect apologies either as apparently it was still our fault for playing slow.6 packs are served in plastic bags. Course was nothing special. I wouldnt recommend this course to anyone.

The course has a good layout but some of the greens are in rough shape. Its a $40 course, not a $50 course. They need more drinking water available throughout the course. That seems so basic when its 90 to 100 degrees outside.

Course is okay. Better than it used to be. Restaurant is barely that. They do tacos Tuesday and stuff like that. I envision a microwave in the back. Crying shame as it could be so much more like a country club. Well level liquor. Small selection.

Worst golf course I have been to in a LONG time. I have played some goat farms and they are in better shape than this place. Greens have crabgrass all in them, roughs have dead grass, weeds, debris, you name it. All round in bad shape and I am not that great of a golfer and I dont think I will be back. Id give it zero stars if I could. Not to mention they are still charging $50.00 to play! Next time I hope they pay me $50 just to have people show up. HA

A bit pricey for the condition of the fairways, greens ok, but hey, this is NC winter golf. Club house closed before our round was over. Limited items in the clubhouse - only one pair of shoes. A bit slow at snack bar. Still ok experience. We will be back.

Rough is so thick you can take a drop and not see your ball right in front of you and the greens are the worst I have seen in the area. This IS NOT a $47 course. Staff was friendly but it’s sad when the $4.75 burger was a better value than the Golf we wasted $47 per person to play.

Wish I would have read the reviews before paying $44 for a deplorable round of golf. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for taking peoples hard earned money for that POS!

I was very disappointed. We paid almost $50 a head, today, April 17, not mowed, no water in water coolers, bathrooms are locked and they dont tell you the key is on cart until you ask on turn. Nothing to drink but beer when you get to snack bar, some of the fairways I swear were no more than 30 yards wide, we drove thru sprinklers where golds should have been to get to 7... I am really disappointed. Oh, and the gold tees were not even out (all my men hit from gold) - they said they dont normally put them out. We started back 9 which was sort of mowed - though none of sand traps - and there are LOTS of sand traps - were raked. They turned on sprinklers on 12 - 18 when we were on tee box..I used locked bathrooms on 14 and they were disgusting - since they are locked they have noone to blame but themselves. I took pictures to show manager just so he understands how badly maintained they facilities are. Bc Again, very disappointed. Prices are not justified at all.

Its a tough course because its narrow, and tons of places to lose balls. However, it can be a lot of fun to practice not losing so many balls.

Great for biking and walking, not sure about the golf...
