Good clean park with benches and picnic tables ideal for a lunch. Its tucked away from 61 and is a nice retreat from the bustle of the road.

The Wednesday community Farmers Market is a very nice evening activity -- music, fresh fruits/vegetables, breads, pickles, crafts, etc.

Thought the dog park was pretty decent. Shades was great for hot day. My dog had blast, kids like it and even at 36 I had fun at the skate park, even though it could use some TLC and little updating

People are super friendly very responsible pet owners so far that I have found a go there my little dog loves it wish people would pick up their dog poop

Ackerman Park in West Ashley is a great park for a wide open green space and athletic fields and a number of other activities and things to do. I like that there is so much room to run around and get some fresh air. It is nice for a picnic or place to relax on a busy day. This park is clean and well maintained. I have had some really good times here over the years.

Clean landscaping... The kids enjoyed they had fun. We enjoyed supporting the local farmers. The fruits and vegetables selection was very nice. I purchased a really nice Aloe Vera plant... the music was nice as well smooth clean sounds.

Really nice, clean and large park. Lots of activities seem to go on there at a regular basis (there was a dog obedience and some sort of exercise class in process). We went to play Frisbee golf which there is a nice well maintained 18 hole course in the outer ring of the park. A very nice addition to the community.

My youngest son is playing tag football there and enjoying it. The grounds need a little sprucing up with some tree trimming being needed badly other than that Im liking the views

Great farmers market on Saturdays

Fields were in great shape. They have a nice skate park too. Lost a star for just one Porta-a-potty to service 200+ visitors on scheduled game days.

Good for when the dogs need a quick run around and nice that its so shaded. Gets muddy if it rained recently though. After work weekdays is the most popular time, otherwise it is dead.

Love coming here for the West Ashley Farmers Market. Word to the wise, there are two different places to park, one lot has an entrance you could easily miss off of Sycamore and the other located adjacent to the old Ryans and Food Lion buildings. During the Farmers Market both lots get full but its significantly easier to park and access the lot near Ryans over the Sycamore lot. The Sycamore lot is narrow with lots of trees and difficult to turn around in with high traffic. Just a fair warning.

Horribly maintained. If this park were privately owned the owner would probably be arrested for animal cruelty. This dog park is a disgrace to our beautiful city.

My dog loves this dog park! There are always sweet dogs/pet owners here, but watch out for fleas in summer. They have a nice athletic field and a fun fenced in skate park as well.

Dog park...Im grateful that there is one for dogs but...Id choose when to go carefully because its on the small size and gets crowded. There are water fountains for them which is great. Just know your pups will be getting dirty because the park has no grass, its all dirt.

This is a great little park near the skateboard park and right off of Hwy 61. I hadnt been before the new Farmers Market opened up but this is a gem of a park! The grounds are well kept and the parking is easy and accessible.

The dog park is dappled in shade and has fresh water for the dogs. There are several benches (also in the shade) and the park is small enough that you can keep an eye on your pup while sitting down.

Chill, relaxed setting. Big soccer field and a fenced in dog park. Only setback is the dog park is very sandy/dirtish so if its wet from rain,it will be super muddy.

This is my least favorite dog park in Charleston. It is extremely dirty (the mud is insane when it rains a lot). I also have had a few bad experiences with the dogs and owners at this park. I would try other places before Id go back to this one.

The park is mostly dirt. Its easy to find and there is lots of space and water fountains, but in our experience there is always someone there who doesnt care to intervene when their dog is aggressive towards others or maybe doesnt really know what aggressive behavior is. I think this is the last time we will be coming here. Just fyi, please supervise your pups when taking them to parks. Its not everyone elses responsibility to stop your dog from attacking theirs. Maybe there should be someone at this park specifically for monitoring dogs since owners apparently dont know how.
