Im glad that theres some place still open during this virus. I miss going to the movies, so it was nice to do something normal again.

I love this theater! I always have! Been back in the Carolinas for 35 years. This theater is always clean. Sparkling bathrooms with beautiful tile work! Ladies, if you love Seahorses, youve gotta see the mosaic outside the womens room. Wish Id taken a picture for ya. The staff is always NICE! So helpful. Good hiring there boss! Oh, and I received a disabled veterans discount at the concession stand. (YES ... I showed my ID lol). Hm, someone else bought my ticket. I wonder if that discount applies to tickets also? THAT would be cool for our veterans! We saw Hocus Pocus tonight. What a JOY it was to finally sit IN a movie theater during this Covid soul crushing existence. PERFECT movie for breaking our Covid-movie-theater-absence. How we have MISSED going to the movies! I hope more of our lives start to enjoy what we took for granted before the world stopped.

Very clean, good service. Liked that the concession prices were a bit lower than other places. They did have the wrong movies and show times on their theaters and they didn’t turn the visual on until the movie show time so I couldn’t see anything before the trailers.

Friendly staff, easy to navigate. Price on food and drinks are a little steep. Love the new reclining seats! There always seems to be a grease stain on the headrest of the seats, I dont think theyre being cleaned between shows. I end up having to wear a sweat shirt or hat.

Great, comfortable seats... adjustable like a good recliner/lay-z-boy. Picture quality is good, sound too, but a bit too loud. Very friendly service at the concession stand. Weve been here multiple times and usually quite happy. Recommended.

I wish I could give this theatre more stars, since I’m almost certain it’s the only “IMAX” in town. The seats are awesome, very comfortable and more recline control than one would hope to see. That said... the staff doesn’t clean the seats very well / often. I got to a movie after the previews started and sat down... after the movie I noticed I was sitting on melted M&M’s the entire show. When Doctor Sleep was showing, it was toooo loud. I go to concerts on a regular basis and this actually hurt to sit through. It sounded like the speakers were blown / digital artifacts were occurring due to levels. The employees I‘ve interacted with are hit or miss. Some forget to give you change, some clean up the popcorn salt hours before the theater closes, and then some are really great under pressure. The signs outside the theaters rarely work, which adds to the overall gloomy atmosphere this theater has cultivated over the years. The movies do start on time... but the vibe needs a little help that could be achieved with better leadership.

I wish i could do a negative star. I took my 5 year old to see Frozen II along with my mom; so i reserved 3 seats. 2 out of the 3 seats were fine, my seat however was broken and it was greasy(but i didn’t complain about the grease). It was laid all the way back and could not be brought to sit back up. I went to let an employee know and he was so kind. He tried to fix it but was unsuccessful so he went to talk to his manager. He came back saying that his manager said that all of the other seats were filled but he could give me a refund for the broken seat but also expected me to leave since i won’t be sitting in it. I went to find the manager who also took about 10min to meet me in the lobby and asked him if he expected me to take my 5 year old out of the movies because of an issue that is NOT my problem? He had no remorse and such an “i don’t care” attitude! He then tried to compare it to being at a restaurant(no comparison); i stopped him and told him that i will call corporate. He was no help and didn’t attempt to accommodate me other than telling me that he’ll give me a refund but i would have to leave. I sat uncomfortably, seat was greasy and laid back like I’m in bed. Very unhappy and i told that manager that i would report this to corporate. SO CORPORATE, WHEN YOU SEE THIS PLEASE GIVE ME A CONTACT NUMBER so that i can report this no good manager. Oh! And the place was a stinking trashy mess!! Ridiculous!

This was a new experience for us . We went to 3 movies in one weekend. The bathroom was clean . The theater was as clean as could be considered frozen 2 was playing back to back.1 love the sitting choices. Everyone was friendly!we’ll be back . Thank you!

Movie theater was really busy when we went so it was pretty messy cant blame the staff because there was mobs of people. Seating very comfortable and the movie surround sound was good. Great midday activity

The best movie theater in Charleston. Reclining roomy chairs, lots of showings, decent food and an IMAX if you want it. Parking is rarely a problem, decently clean especially for a movie theater, and the staff are pretty cool too. Come for a matinee if you want to save a bit of money.

Seems to consistently run into staffing problems (that in turn lead to messes/lack of cleanliness) Went in for a 7pm movie and it looked like nothing had been swept/wiped down since the day before. Bathrooms were in similar shape. Staff is fine, they just need more help

I went to go see the new star wars movie and could barely enjoy it because the theater was to loud. i don’t understand why a movie has to be that loud because it hurt my ears the whole time and i was really looking forward to seeing it. for a better theater i suggest the terrace theater because they know what volume control is. but the seats were comfortable

For the pure fact that the seats are awesome, Im happy! They recline! The place was as clean as to be expected. The staff was courteous, with a great concept of service. I purchased the ticket online, ahead of time. Even with the internet down due to the passed storm, things turned out smoothly. Toy Story 4 is what we saw.The seats... I want one.

Theater sells tickets online and redeeming the tickets is fast and easy. Choose your seats beforehand and all theaters have reclining seats that are very comfortable. They do not accept tap-to-pay. The area is safe and this theater allows costumes on the opening nights of big movies.

This was the absolute dirtiest movie theater Ive ever been to. I saw Rise of Skywalker on a Sunday afternoon a week after it had been released, so the theater wasnt that crowded. The drink station was overflowing with ice and most likely hadnt been attended to in days. The popcorn station was also disgusting and unkempt. The bathrooms had small trash cans lying on the floor and smelled comparable to an ancient gas station bathroom. The theater could have had a major touch up as well. The only reason its 2 stars was because of how comfortable it was while watching the movie. However, I will be using other movie theaters. I was worried being there would make us all sick

This is the dirtiest theater I’ve even seen. Seats were sticky, floors were nasty. The lobby is trashed. When we asked someone if there was anything to wipe our seat that were sticky, worker said get some toilet paper.

Comfy chairs and nice refresh to the place in general.Large size popcorn was not so large, though. And the staff seemed to be slow and tired.

Ive been to this theater 3 times and its filthy every time. They leave jalapenos out on the counter buy the napkins uncovered all day. How is that not a health concern? Employees are kinda rude. My husband asked if they have sweet tea and an older man replied back with, We arent that fancy. Didnt know sweet tea was fancy. We only come back because they have reclining seats. My advice is bring a sanitizing wipe for your seat.

We were traveling and wanted to see new Star Wars movie. This was the closest so we hopped a cab to herw. Able to pick your seat. Chairs are pleather and can recline. Great afternoon.

I was thrilled with my experience till all theaters went out. When they went out the manager would not answer his employees on the walkie talkies for 30min. When he finally came out he would give us no information and was hostile and rude. I finally got my refund after an hour. Absolutely terrible manager and he needs to find a new career if he treats paying guests this way.

Solid seats. Comfy. Would have liked the option to lift the arm rest in between them so I could get closer to my date. We sat next to eachother even though she has Corolla. Yolo. Some guy told me to pleeease be quiet because I kept talking to her. Little did he know, she has Tourettes and I was trying to comfort her so...jokes on him. Lovely theater though. Friendly staff.

Imax theater has great seats and recliners. Spacious. First time going there. Pretty cool getting to pick where you sit, instead having to figure it out yourself. Im not interested in going back. There was roach in the display case for the candy. By the way he was alive and crawling all over. The popcorn station was a disaster, it looked like it hadnt been cleaned all day. On our way to our movies, popcorn was all over the floor and seats. I accidentally purchased movie tickets for the wrong date and the movie showtime was the same day and the same time i purchased the tickets. I meant to purchase them for the next day. Spoke to a manager and he would not even exchange my ticket for the correct date. Wont ever go here again.

The layout of this theater is terrible. When sitting on upper rows the bottom of the screen is not visible due to the seats below. Seats are very comfy though.

We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the manager on duty, Issac. A woman sitting in front of us yelled at us for eating our popcorn too loud and when we didn’t respond went to Issac to complain. He then proceeded to ask us to move to other seats and when I declined and told him that she should move to another seat if she was unhappy with how loud we eat our popcorn (totally absurd)! When she saw that we were not moving she turned around and called us pigs and threw popcorn at my husband!! Your manager totally mishandled this situation ( are paying customers not allowed to eat popcorn in a movie theatre without being harassed and told by the manager that he was going to throw all of us out!! Your managers need better training on how to handle customer situations. We missed the first 15 minutes of the movie dealing with him. Worst experience I’ve ever had in a movie theatre! Very disappointed in the handling of this . I have left a message for a Senior manager to contact me as I am still very upset by this situation.

Last night was probably one of the worst movie going experiences Ive ever had, all due to the manager on staff. This is going to be a long review. I hope the business owners read this.After sitting down to watch a subtitled movie, I realized that the protective screen or whatever it is did not pull back far enough, causing about 1/8th of the screen to be covered on the top and bottom. I went outside and informed the staff working the desk about it and his response amounted to Its a known issue with that screen and theres really nothing we can do about it right now and theres nothing were going to do. My question is, if you knew about the issue why would you have a SUBTITLED movie currently playing in that theatre? You made a movie where you NEED to be able to see the bottom of the screen basically unwatchable.One of my friends I was viewing the movie with decided to complain to the manager on staff, and he offered us some free movie passes as compensation. He handed them to me after I showed him my Fandango tickets. I bought six tickets, he gave me three passes. What wasnt made clear to me was these three complimentary passes were meant to act as a full refund, to a movie the manager himself told me wont be playing again. Every other showing will be the english dubbed version, which I did not prefer to watch. It wasnt in any way made clear to me or my friend that I needed to leave after receiving these tickets, so I went back to finish what is my LAST chance to see this movie in this form in theaters. After I went back inside, my friend was informed that we needed to leave the theatre. She told the manager that we would give the free passes back afterwards, which I would have. I didnt want a refund, I just wanted my movie I paid over $60 for to be watch-able.Five minutes later the manager comes back in and shines a flashlight in our faces and tells us we need to leave in the sternest, disappointed dad voice he could muster. I handed over the three passes and he left us alone to watch the movie that we were now 40 minutes into.Also another note, another friend of mine tried to buy some popcorn and they were already scooping it into trash bags for the evening. The staff attempted to scoop the pop corn BACK OUT OF THE TRASH BAG to sale to my friend. Citadel Mall Stadium 16 tried to sell us trash bag popcorn.Also ANOTHER note, after complaining my friend tried to buy a slushie and they tried to give her the smaller cup that obviously is not used for slushies. At this point its just petty and immature.Im a manager at a local store. I understand the frustration that comes with dealing with complaining customers, but that is part of the job and you have to be prepared to handle it when it happens. We were having a sub-par movie watching experience and were treated like absolute nuisances in return when we tried to bring it up.Its extremely obvious the manager on duty on the night of March 1st does not care about his job and had no intention of doing it correctly. As such I feel like I wasted $60. Comfortable seats will only get you so far.

Great place for date night. They have the reclining electric seats, the popcorn flavorings, and free large refills.

Third time that their systems have gone down and they could not sell us tickets. Claim they dont do hand written receipts. How is that even possiable? Every company should have a policy on how to conduct buisness when systems crash. Horriable customer service. Do better!

I will never come back here again. Employees were extremely rude dealing with customers after each and every auditorium lost power. I understand that losing your projectors is stressful, but dont bad mouth customers when they have been standing around for nearly forty-five (45) minutes and start demanding refunds. The General Manager was also very unhelpful, as he walked away from everyone stating he didnt know what do to. It saddens me that Southwest Cinemas wouldnt have trained their employees to better hand situations like this. Ill be going to Regal next time.

Spacious, reclining seats and reserved seating makes for a comfy, relaxing movie night :)Concession prices are what youd expect at basically every movie theatre - high, in a typical and expected way.I always enjoy the popcorn here and appreciate all the different flavored salt options they have (for free!) in the lobby. A large is definitely worth it, so you can get that free refill and enjoy nomming on that buttery, salty goodness.

Seats are awesome. Little disappointed about the drink size. The large is a 28oz I think. Its what other theatres call a medium. Pretty much forcing people to get up n get a refill. Annoying

This theater was our regular choice to see action movies on an IMAX screen. We ordered tickets from South East Cinemas via the theater’s site on May 22 for the opening weekend of Godzilla (June 2). 5 tickets on a center row for us and friends. No need to rush to stand in line for tickets because our seats were assigned. Cool. Printed tickets easily inside. Cool. Still got there almost a half hour early only to find others in our seats. The manager, Brian, said it didn’t matter that the seats were sold to multiple people after we paid for them. “First butt in the seat gets it”. But he’d “make it right”. That meant he’d give us a refund and a “we won’t be showing it on the IMAX screen next weekend”. No vouchers. No apology for what THEY did -NOT FANDANGO. Another couple got booted out of their seats and they’d made a long drive to see it in IMAX. As I stood there, yet another person came up saying they had people in their seats. A lady told me it’s happened to her 3 times.Why pay an advanced ticket fee to prepay for assigned seating if they don’t honor the ticket? Brian was snide and condescending.They’ve lost our business.Movie watchers BEWARE.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the manager, Josh, a man who was dressed very unprofessional and who treated the customers with little to no respect. I was attending a movie on Veterans Day and a older gentleman came in who was asking about pricing. Rather than treat this man with respect, Josh just told him he would have no price change regardless of being military. It was quite upsetting.Following this, I (a type 1 diabetic) was in desperate need of a battery for my insulin pump which keeps me alive. When asking a staff member if they would please check to see if they had any spare batteries, Josh the manager rudely interrupted and just said no we can’t do that.I understand it is not required to give out anything, however the lack of respect, the lack of customer service, and lack of care is why I sill never return to this theatre.

This theatre is no longer offers an IMAX theatre. The EXtrene experience is definitely not the same. Even the audio quality was subpar. I just finished watching the last Star Wars movie there. The recliners were great but if you are expecting the IMAX submersive experience, prepared to be disappointed.

The employees should make a conscious effort to maintain the cleanliness of the beverage and condiment areas.

Went to Regal in Mt. Pleasant last week. It was awful and filthy. Went back to this cinema, as it is our favorite. Recliners and clean theaters. Great.

One word: IMAX! The IMAX screen is the largest movie theater screen in the low country. This Southeast Cinema location has IMAX and assigned power reclining seats. Unlimited refills on soda and ICEES. Great snack bar selections. Best movie selection, 12 theaters!

This movie theater is a whole lot better than the ones in Mt. Pleasant they have great prices, movies and seats. Their popcorn is amazing with their butter on top. You guys should there. Prices, b+, visiting Charleston, but most theaters I go to are around $15 to $20 dollars per ticket. I paid $12 for IMAXCustomer service, c+ , were customers, not dudes, also having a police officer check your tickets instead of an employees is odd. I support our law enforcement, but checking tickets? Maybe this was due to a violent incident that took place recently in North Charleston.Cleanliness, b- , visited on a Saturday evening and it was pretty busy.IMAX experience, b- , screen could use some cleaning and the speaker boxes were vibrating a little too much. Price makes up for those issues.

My husband and I are in town visiting for the holidays and decided to take in a movie this evening. The staff, the few that were there, were friendly and helpful. The lobby and bathrooms, however, were absolutely filthy!

Decent for what it is. The upgraded recliners are not the best Ive been in. You have to un-recline if someone needs to get by.

Very nice theater. Reclining chairs. A nice touch was being able to add your own butter and salt to your popcorn. Keep in mind that with reclining seats, seating is reserved. So buy tickets online ahead of time to ensure a good seat, getting there early is no longer the way to get seats.

I only go to the southeast east cinemas theatres. This one and the one in north Charleston. They are clean, have fresh food, big screens, and those comfy a** reclining seats.

Great movie theater! It was clean. We loved the reclining seats. If you go to the theater before 3:50 it is only $6.50. Great price for a good movie and date. The assigned seats were nice as well so you know where you are sitting when you go in. We had a great time and would go again.

During the internet outage yesterday, had some issues buying tickets and accidentally had my card charged several times for the purchase I was trying to make due to an unknown error on the website, it was quite frustrating. Was stressed out that it was about to be some kind of ordeal to fix the issue, but thankfully the manager on duty, William, was quick and super friendly in dealing with my problem.Always enjoyed coming to this theater because I love the facilities and the comfort of the theaters, but today I was really impressed with their staff and their customer service.

Full disclosure: Im a diehard Terrace fan. That said, the seats in this place are akin to massage chairs. Go ahead and reserve seats in advance--the lines at such a large theater, well, they suck. I havent once been on time to actually see the advance trailers if I dont use the pre-bought kiosk.

The movie experience was good here. My son enjoyed the movie. I thought it could be a little more cleaner. I understand it gets a little hectic so some cleaning wont get done like it should. The arm rest was a little sticky and the female restroom was disgusting.

Theater was disgustingly dirty today for the 3:55 showing of Aladdin. They clearly didn’t clean between showings. There was spit in the cup holders and popcorn and trash everywhere. The floors near the concession stand were covered in popcorn and spilled soda and instead of cleaning it up, the staff just put “caution wet floor” signs around it. I asked to speak to the manager, before the previews even began for the movie. I showed him the photos of what our seat area looked like (seats were reserved in advance and theater was sold out so we could not just move) and his response was “I’ll send someone to clean it up right away as this is clearly not our standard.” However, no one ever came in to address it. The previews didn’t start until 4:05 even though it was sold as a 3:55 movie. We have been to this theater several times in the past and have never seen it this bad. When our movie let out, we saw staff members just standing around in the concession area, with no line, yet none of them seemed concern with cleaning up the spills or the mess.I gave them the opportunity to rectify the situation and they chose to not do anything about it. Very disappointing.

Im torn between a three and a four on this rating. Giving it a 4 because I genuinely think its okay even though I never really prefer to come here. All of my friends love it because they have new leather reclining seats, but thats not an important feature to me. I find it difficult to get tickets in good spots since people grab them online in advance.I collect tickets from concerts, films, and just about anything they attend. Since they give you ticket stubs on receipt paper, they fade within a very short amount of time. For that reason I try not to go here and I prefer Regals where they still give you card stock.Other important things to me are cleanliness and the type of concessions they have. I always find the theater dirty. They also only have Pepsi products and food loaded with sugar or oil, so I never end up getting concessions here. Small detail, they also dont have a rewards program like Regal, so theres not a loyalty incentive.

Great leatherrecliner seats. Pro tip if you but 3 you can lift up the arm rests and have a leather couch to lay on!

1st time back in a while! Came to see Avengers Endgame! The facility is nice and was well kept, even on a busy day! Clean and staff stayed busy but maintained good service with smiles!

No one works the ticket boths, you have to go in to purchase tickets at the consessions stand. The movie that I wanted to see, that was still advertised outside as showing, wasnt there anymore, and the cashiers response was my manager was too lazy to take it down. Great customer service is a must.

Theater is nice, sounds is great. While I like the recliners, it kind of removes the spur of the moment movie decisions and forces you to plan. If you do though, it is a great and relaxing movie experience.

A good theatre. They used to have automated ticket machines but eliminated their usage. Now you have to go up to the counter to purchase. I also dont like the newish assigned seating. Maybe for really popular movies but on a regular basis it is a pain. Add having to go-to the counter to purchase combined with the assigned seating and it really takes away from the experience. You better be 20 minutes early for your movie just to get in on time.

Its a big movie theater and very nice. Definitely would go again and go with friends

I always enjoy watching my movies at the IMAX. Its conveniently located and the reclining seats are very comfy. The seat selection makes it easier to find seats and be able to sit where I like. Concessions could be a lot better though.

Please pay close attention to the seating map when selecting your reserved location. There was only one exit walkway and we picked seats against the far wall assuming there was a walkway against that wall, and there wasnt one. Once seated I was trapped when everyone eased back and extended there seats. It was miserable holding my need to relieve. Pay close attention to the seating chart exits if you have urgent needs.

Went here 08/19/18. We (husband and I ) werent expecting it would be a lot nicer than a regular theater. We have seen a lot better than this one but still were surprise that its nicer than a regular regal or AMC cinemas. First you choose your seat before Getting inside so your seat is guaranteed. Second it is a reclining sofa!!! And third but not the least for the price its really more than what you paid for. Clean and comfortable. Will visit again.

I really love this theatre. Modern but decorated in an attractive art deco theme. Large stadium style seating with amazing full recline, padded, lazy boy style seats! Great movie experience!

I went to the Citadel Mall Stadium to see the 12:35 showing of The Nun. The check in for online ticket purchases didnt take more than a moment and the bloke who served us our popcorn (Im not sure what his name was, but he wore glasses) was very swift in helping us (I was with a friend) and we ended up not missing much of the movie at all despite having arrived late.My friend and I were the only ones in the showroom for this particular movie at this particular time and I feel like that added greatly to how much fun we both had. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the chairs reclined. Id never been to a theater like that before.The bathrooms were also very clean. A clean bathroom says a lot about your establishment in my opinion.Over all, I had a great time and enjoyed this location. I would return to see movies here again if the option presented itself.

The line was silly, it was like 15 min to show time and they only had one register open for both tickets and concessions that was way backed up. Also the movie would get hung up in places and you could here the skipping until it smoothed its self out. The seats were nice though.

So so theater. Loud lobby and restrooms were less than clean.

Nice theater but can be a bit expensive if you dont see a matinee. They offer a variety of foods at the concession stand but can be extremely expensive. Not too strict on checking bags and staff is pretty nice. Bathrooms are normally clean as well. I sometimes arrive 30 minutes before my movie starts and there have been times when the theater has not been ready for occupancy. That can be a little annoying since I feel it should be ready by then but it is not a big issue . Overall, I really like this theater! They also sell alcohol.
