Great place to take a walk, bike, or jog with family, pets, friends. Plenty of things available to do for recreation. Have not e plored all the nature trails and paths but its a fairly well kept area. Weve been taking our older dogs there for their workouts (theirs and their hoomans). They love it and weve enjoyed just being outdoors.

Great dog park! Large, has nice benches and gazebo, toys are provided, it’s typically not muddy, and everyone I’ve met here is nice. If your dog does get muddy there are pools and a hose to was off your pup.

Nice and clean wish we had a park like this back at home soccer fields, playground, basketball court, dog park and nice running trails.

Great park to bring kids to. Amazingly fun playground and expansive fields coupled with nature walks and a central pond area make this park a great place to walk, run, play, and relax.

One of our favorite playground in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area! It’s easy to find with many parking spot and I never seen the playground empty. There’s always kids playing and parents chatting.

This is a soccer focused review!The fields are in great shape and mowed at the right height. The management team came out after the games to check on things and keep things in top condition. I would definitely recommend to someone looking to rent the facilities. There are bathrooms and picnic shelters available so well. The fields are still the best part though!

Great park for kids of all ages. They even have an outdoor skate rink which is awesome as well as paths around the park to ride or skate.

I LOVE THIS DOG PARK! It has trees, chew toys, balls, mulch, a water spigot, and there is always a large dog there! Small dog park is not as popular but my “good boys” love it there! There is a picnic shelter and lots of benches to hang out at. Parking is sometimes a struggle as it is shared with the soccer field families but it’s so worth it!

This park is great! Walking trails are beautiful, and the playground is large and fenced in so the little kids can run free and play on the many skill levels of jungle gyms.

Came for a soccer tournament for my daughter, nice park with soccer fields, walking trails, dedicated roller hockey ring, basketball courts and covered picnic areas. Kids playground was well maintained and sizable.

Great walking trail with built in excerise machines. They also have a great playground for the kids, soccer fields l, and a covered picnic area for families.

Great place to grill and relax with family and friends! I love the playground area, and the soft padding is a plus!

I recommend that you visit here in the evening. Especially in summer, you may avoid intense sun and heat.

Fun, good parking, unique features. Gets REALLY hot early in the day, rendering it unusable.

Their soccer field is huge, and well-maintained ... have a shelter where events like birthdays take place regularly ... also have a kids play area and basketball courts.

We played disc golf at this park. We had a great time. This is a pretty nice course.

Walking trails, basketball, and soccer fields all over. A great place to jog or get some leisure time. They have public grills for picnics and a playground for the young kids. If you live in the area, come on out and meet your neighbors and meet some friendly dogs too. There is also a dog park near by so even the family dog can have some fun.

Well maintained, very large park. Playground, basketball courts, soccer fields, skating rink, disc golf, dog park, trails, pond, creek... Lots of stuff in a nice location. Went on a weekend and the placed was jammed full but still found a nice parking spot near the playground. There are both paved and unpaved trails. The paved trail has exercise stations along it and even leads to another playground. There are plenty of benches along the way but more water fountains would be great. Will have to come back in the winter and see if they fill the rink in with ice

Great place to be alone or with a large group. Family friendly, fenced play area for the kids (presently under renovation) large pavilion and a smaller one. There are public restrooms. Very dog friendly, plenty of trails for walking or running. Very enjoyable usually packed on the weekends.

Love this park! There is a huge playground if you have kids, large soccer fields, disc golf, nature trails, a fitness trail with fitness equipment, a roller hockey rink, 2 dog parks, and a very clean rest area. Cannot say enough good things about this park!

I really liked the park!! My favorite thing was spinning around! EGS, age 4.

I cant speak for the entire park, but the dog park is one of the best ones I know of in the area. The people are friendly and the dogs there have never been really aggressive and owners are usually quick to remove their dog if it is being aggressive. It is very open on one side and the other side has taller grass and trees which our dog loves to run through.

Lovely park, it was very busy the day I visited. Parking was a premium, we had to park 400 yards from the field, but the field was in great shape.

Great little dog park here if you are a dog owner. Separate areas for large or small dogs. My dog loves this place.

Southern Community Park is a beautiful park with something to do for everyone, playgrounds, Soccer, roller hockey rink, basketball, etc. Such a great park, and very clean!

IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DISC GOLF YOU WILL NOT LIKE THIS COURSE. The first 3 or 4 holes arent bad, after that its complete chaos, horrible course design, narrow long distance tunnels (and by narrow I mean like 1 foot wide tunnels). Hole 9 has a pond to the left of the basket that the sign doesnt show, my buddy lost two discs cause we had no idea there was a pond. The course forces you to approach a lot of the holes only one way, and if you cant throw sidearm, youre in for a long day.

The dog park is large, with a separate lot for small dogs. Friendly atmosphere. Other than occasional, minor scuffles between dogs (which are bound to happen) its a great place to take your dog to release some energy!

Nice clean park for children. Also spacious enough for children to ride thier bikes around.

Great kids play place. Entire area is fenced in with lots of slides and different areas for kids to play. An entire hanging section if your kid wants to be the next ninja warrior.

We took our puppies to the dog park here twice this week. Its a giant park and the people in the community are really inviting

Very well maintained park. We visited the dog park. There were lots of shaded places to sit and plenty of space to run. Thanks to whomever left their pink tennis ball, my dog stole it and chewed it in to little pieces.

Fairly large playground structures for the kids to play on. It has some areas that are very challenging, and areas that have some smaller areas that are not at challenging. There is a walking path around the playground area as well. The major downside is that there is very limited shady spots for parents to stand in, or for kids to take a break from the sun.

Playground is great! Bathrooms near by. Covered picnic shelters. Could have gotten 5 stars if there was at least a little shade or adult seating on the playground

Several full sized grass soccer fields. Quality of the fields can vary depending on the time of the year. For the most part these fields are well maintained.

Safe, clean, and lots of things to do! I come here to play soccer, but this park is huge. Lots of parking and easy to find.

Played disc golf here. 18 holes. Well maintained course, just a few downed trees that I am sure will be cut and moved by my next round. Shot +4.

My dog PADME loves the field. Dog park filled with owners on their cell phone. I guess their kids feel the same way.

Great little park with fenced playground (no dogs), a dog park (no kids? haha), two picnic pavillions that can be rented (one within the fenced area), bathrooms, green space to lay or run. Rocks. Skating Rink. Basketball hoops. Soccer Fields.

Wonderful park, but theres just not enough parking on weekends when the sports fields are in use.

Great walking area, complete with nature trails and a 2 acre dogpark! Other facilities are in excellent shape, including a skating enclosure, huge childrens play area, well marked bath rooms, garbage disposal with dog scooping bags.
