Great place to hike. If you go in the fall. You pretty much will have the whole place to yourself like I did! The boys had a great time exploring off the beaten path. Venture into the woods

Perfect place for a picnic or walk along the river with your family. I found this place by chance on google maps and think it’s a nice little gem of a park. I’ll definitely be going back!

At one time part of this park was a CC camp. This park has a lot of history to it. We had girl scout day camp, family picking, and visiting the caretakers family. How things change, but its still has all the memories.

This is a great preserve! My only negative right now and I can come back and change this as things improve, but the park was severely overcrowded. There was a large Boy Scout Troop in the camping field and many of the with kids were riding around on bicycles up and down the hill on the road which created a rather unsafe condition for them.Despite that it still ranks asking my favorite short hike preserves.

The scenery here is breathtaking. Its wonderful that a short half-mile drive can totally transform from a sleepy suburban neighborhood to a pristine woodsy landscape.

Wonderful dirt trail loops for hiking. Nice hills to get your heart pumping. Got about 20 feet from 2 doe and also saw plenty of chipmunks, blue jays, herons, and squirrels. I heard a woodpecker in the distance. I’ve been here 2 days in a row and if it weren’t for my kid coming down with the flu, I’d be back again tomorrow! If hiking is your passion, you’ll love these trails, just wish they were double in length, as they are kind of shorter trails.

Its outdoors, so I enjoyed it. But none of the visitors center were attended. Plus at one place, there were power lines overhead and you could hear the electricity flowing through them. My sister and I turned back at that point.
