My daughter had her wedding reception at the Museum. Naomi was so helpful the night of the event. Even with all of the uncertainty with Covid, she was professional and helped reduce some of the stress involved with planning a wedding reception in the midst of a pandemic. It is a beautiful venue and unique to Cedar Rapids. I would highly recommend it.

I visited the National Check and Slovak Museum and Library for the first time Saturday, February 3, 2018 to check out the Art of Accessories exhibit.I really enjoyed the exhibit of folk art and the detail of the handwork that was exhibited. Also the permanent exhibit of the velvet revolution was very informational and I appreciated the interactive immersion of the exhibits.I am thinking of joining as an Individual, renewable annually for only $35.00 a year. Gets you in free and I would be supporting the museum.I had fun, would like to go back soon and encourage you to check it out. Admission is $10.00. Not bad for the few hours would could spend soaking up the history. Also I watched 4 Bald Eagles fishing on the river from the entryway. very neat.

My husband and I had our wedding at NCSML on 8/18/18. Our experience was phenomenal! Sarah, the wedding event coordinator did an amazing job, as did the rest of the support staff. I booked this venue over a year in advance, and they did not disappoint. I wish I could live my wedding day all over again, and I am eternally grateful for the lifetime memories I created in their hall. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. - The Piplanis

One of the best museums! Showed so many cool artifacts and information about Czech and Slovak Culture. Great for people who have Czech/Slovak Backgrounds or people who just like to learn about a culture that shaped and influenced so much of Cedar Rapids.

Weve lived in the area for three years and finally got around to visiting this museum. The people at the front desk were wonderful and friendly - they even offered to take our picture under the beautiful entry chandelier. Exhibits were fun and informative. We enjoyed the films and the exhibit on communism. The baby in costumes photo exhibit was pretty cute as well. A great place to spend a few hours! Be

Great place to learn about ethic Czech culture and history. My family and I have been traveling around visiting museums and learning about all the ethnic groups of the US and the world and learning their cultures and histories. As a black woman with mixed children I am thankful for places like this. I want my children to see that white people have amazing multiple cultures and wonderful history. They never get to see any of it from schools or the media.

This is a gem if you have any connections with either Czech or Slovak history. Personally I dont, but my wife is of Polish/Slovak heritage. To me it gave great insight into the culture and also oppression of the nation during WWII and later during the cold war. The people working here are passionate about this subject and willing to share.

The facility itself is beautiful and worth the visit. The exhibits reinforce how fortunate we are to be American citizens, movingly portraying the Czech and Slovak experience. Very attentive staff and a gift store that showcases Czech and Slovak art. Highly recommended.
