Great riding trail. Good first course for the beginner is the 3 mile course (actually 2.7 miles). Its not too challenging.

3rd time here on the DORBA mtb trails and both the park personnel and the park have been incredible. The place is beautiful and peaceful. The bike trails are very fun with some technical challenges for even a seasoned rider. The 12mi loop is just over 10 miles by Garmin, and the 8mi loop is 6.4mi by Garmin. Ill probably be back tomorrow for some more tight dry and fast technical singletrack!!

Its a great trail to exercise on and enjoy the view. It keeps it interesting by changing the difficulty of the trail every half mile or so.

Great trail thats pretty quiet. Not a lot of traffic...$7 entry per person might be why. I will gladly pay it to get out on a great trail without the crowd.

Cedar Hill State Park has the prettiest sunsets around!Dorba trail is very nice and its pproximately 3 miles long. At the trailhead, biking starts to the left and hiking starts to the right. We hiked and the first half of the trail has beautiful views of the lake, the other half its all through the threes, still beautiful but i wouldve enjoyed it more had it not gotten dark on us. The trail is hilly, shady, with a few wooden bridges, and lots of spiders.

Excellent trail! Thanks to DORBA for maintaining it. The 8 mile trail is great. I like to do the 12 miles only when I go earlier in the day specially during the winter. The trail is very well marked and there are 3, 8 and 12 miles options.

Trail is very good, lots and lots of switchbacks and turns, theres like one hard climb and 3 flat sections. You dont like running into groups of hikers, it would be best to ride during the week.

MTBr review: Great trails! $7 entry fee, they do take credit. Crowded on good days, be super diligent to not run over hikers as there are many blind corners. Overall the trail is a solid blue, the beginner loop is not a bunny slope at all. The red section isnt a black or anything either. Just solid classic singletrack. Not a lot of features but the natural drops and root gardens are well kept and not sketchy. The trail overall is built spectacularly, hats off to DORBA for the excellent build and maintenance. I imagine the trail closes for awhile after rain but when its dry theres a lot of traction. Great place for an XC race.

Cedar Hill State Park is well maintained and a great park to visit. Highlights are lake access, hiking/biking trails, campsites, fishing pond, and an agricultural farm to tour. The hiking/biking trails are a joint effort with the Dallas Offroad Bicycle Association.

This is a good trail to exercise your legs, it is not to technical but give you enough challenge to become a good rider a lot of uphills and downhills with swicht backs, couple of features but overall a good ride with a lake view very nice place, sure its not free but $7 or if you are local get the year pass for $70 will be worth every penny.

This park is the perfect place to enjoy nature, right in the dfw metroplex. There are a couple of really nice hiking trails. The one that goes by the lake is approx 3.5 miles long, and is especially nice. You will see many wildflowers, and some beautiful lake views. The sunsets over the lake are incredible!!

This is a great place for hiking and mountain biking. In the DFW metroplex it has one of the highest elevation gains. If youre a mountain biker it has the best burm riding of any of the DORBA trails. Really soft fast berm riding throughout with a wide well marked trail. It is covered for most of the trail except a couple hundred yards towards the top. It is also a state park so be prepared that yo will need to pay to enter or use your state park pass.

Nice trail. It was a little muddy when we went, but we expected that. The restrooms at the trailhead were clean, but the dryer didnt work in the mens room and the water wouldnt come on in the womens room(according to my wife).

Trail closes if someone sneezes on it due to its composition. But if its open, its a good trail to ride. Offers some gradual climbs, quick decents, roots, lake views and switchbacks on loose dirt and sand. There are some fields where sun exposure occurs for a good stretch. So, plan accordingly on hot Texas days.

This is one of the better state park trails in the DFW area. My wife and I went hiking here on Memorial Day, which meant there were a lot of people biking on the trail. Even then, it was a nice calm hike with some good views.

I love this place, its history and the random wildlife. Get to know the staff and theyll show you some cool things you never would think to go see. The police are kind and older gentlemen who love to help show you around. Be sure to ask about the new Turkey vulture babies named Pugsley and Wednesday in the barn. I posted a photo of their mother spreading her wings at me under the photo section as well as many other great photos of the park. Its quiet with lost of hills, rabbits, coyotes, ducks and so much more. I like the duck pond which you can fish all the perch youd like put of on the far western side of the park, make sure you get a map and explore explore explore. Keep a camera with you EVERYWHERE YOU GO. drive the roads slowly in the morning and youll see alot of wildlife. The high waters bring out alot of gorgeous fowls that you probably have never seen. There are alot of beautiful cardinals singing and in sight in the morning (breakfast time.) Good luck and have fun.
