What a beautiful place to take a stroll with the family. Not to mentioned a great place to take family pictures. This was my first time visiting this place, the restrooms where clean and the day was perfect. I would definitely reccomend this for the family or just spend time with a love one. Timing is the key mid sunsets are around 5:00 to 5:30 is when you can capture that special moment.

We love walking around Penn Farm. Not only are there many amazing photo opportunities, the history and grounds themselves are beautiful. Weve been here several times now and always make it a point of walking around and looking at everything. We dont stop and read all the information about the buildings anymore, but if its your first time they are worth the read and time.

From a photographers POV, this is a great little place with surprisingly sufficient number of compositions to get portraits. You could use the houses or barns to get a more rustic feel but you can also exploit the openness of the field to minimize the rustic presence if needed. Late afternoon provides good lighting and its accessible until late.

Go there if you are interested in lake view or want to educate children on how people lived 200 years ago. Do not go in rainy season as trails are closed

Love the hiking in Cedar Hill, and being a history buff this was especially attractive. I recommend a visit hands down. Its a serene, educational, and gives you a great sense of the history of Cedar Hill and the surrounding area.

This is the weirdest farm Ive ever seen. Its like all of the buildings were dumped here and it was never actually farmed. I cant figure out what the barns were used for. That possible chicken coop one felt...creepy. It felt barren, unlike other old farms weve been around. It didnt even smell right.Where were the alleged orchards, for example?Lots of critters, which was cool. I think we saw more wildlife here than in any other part of the state park.

Really great to see these hundred year old buildings an imagine what life was like back then. Was a very hard but beautiful life living off of the land. Must have taken a lot of faith to survive!

Fun little trail within Cedar Lake state park. Many old Farm buildings, many are dilapidated but still neat to explore. Dog friendly, kid friendly. Bathroom available at the beginning of the trail, a slow exploration takes roughly an hour and a half. Had a run in with a turkey vulture which made the journey all the more exciting. It was roosting in one of the old barns

Great place. Plenty of shade on the trails. It could use some upkeep of the historical buildings and the old farm equipment but since the entrance is free that will need some extra source of funding or fees and or donations. Great piece of history.

This rating isn’t so much about the place, but more about the rundown nature of it - which I will attribute to the lack of funding - without knowing that is actually true.

Never new this place existed and I have been to CHSP many times. This is a gem of a place with really cool old buildings and a ton of old equipment all over the property. Take your best camera as there are about a million great photo ops. I really really love this place and will be going back. I recommend taking a bike as its spread out and a bike will get you around really well which is what I did.
