Pretty view when you make it to the top. But the trails turn into roads and you have to watch for vehicles. **edit if you want a real hike and not have to walk the road take the red trail not green.

I liked the trail overall but there seems to be confusion on the trail colors as maps are red/green the opposite of the trail themselves. The green section is pretty easy with a slight uphill. The red section is a little more technical with more ups and downs, more sloped areas, etc. The view of the dam is good from both above and below (pic from below)

This is history hidden in our back yard. The old Coopers Iron Works are impressive. Plus the old rail bed that passed through the present Lake Allatoona. Imaging creating all this with horse, mule and muscle.

Nice walk along the road. But the longer nature trail up the side of the mountain requires a bit of maintenance as they are downed trees and paths are not clearly marked.

A bit of washout but woodsy and great history. Make sure you go to top of hill by visitors center to view dam and Etowah River. Nice picnic spot there.

How can you give Gods creation any less than five stars? We walked from Coopers furnace to the top of Pine Mountain. It was a really tough hike. It was 5.4 miles up and back which doesnt sound like much. But it is a rather steep climb at points.

We managed to walk from trailhead to the furnace with two toddlers with light rain and it was tons of fun. There are a few cool little Bridges that our boys took interest to and it was overall very peaceful.

This is a nice place to go plenty of shade. The picnic tables and grills are in good shape. The only draw back was getting in the water a lot of rocks on shoreline. Wasnt happy with jet skis not obeying no wake zone. Have to overlook things I recon.

Historic place, was the village known as Ettowah, had Iron furnace, mini mining railroad which is now a hiking trail, connects to many other trails , has bathroom, picnic area, game areas, is alongside Ettowah River..

I have walked this trail many times. I always like stopping off at the lake office and sitting in a rocking chair. The dam overlook is nice as well.

The hiking trails are the best, make sure to have your hiking boots, snacks and extra water.....your adventure will take you all over....Pine Mountain connections is the white trail ...the overlook is the blue and red...,

This is a nice place to go for some quick hiking. There are some skinny trails, and there are also some of the wider trails that have gravel and what not. Decently hilly, but nothing extreme by far. I just did the two small loops on the Southwest corner, and I only passed one other person the whole time. Im planning on going back and connecting with the Pine Mountain portion. I wouldnt wear flat soled shoes, or sandals - but otherwise this is a novice hike. There are very clean bathrooms and picnic areas by the parking lot on the Southwest corner of this hike.

Easy to launch a kayak but a few boaters in the water have no respect for kayakers. Nice views but the 3 hours of a running leaf blower in the park kind of took the serenity out of the morning. Ill go back but for any newbies out there just beware. There are some rude people out there

The trail is not much used, and not well marked. Its a good option to add more mileage if youre hiking the adjacent Pine Mountain trails, but, not much to attract anyone otherwise.
