Cute place for family and kids. Its nature trails are nice, but noise because of the traffic on 81. We got too much mosquitoe bites on our last visit. Its covered stage and sitting area is great.

While the city of Carlisle has many beautiful parks, the thirty plus acre Thornwald Park is the largest and most forested. Featuring over a mile of unpaved heavily forested walking trails, wide open fields and even a performance stage its a location worth visiting.

This is the kind of park that you could take nature pictures at and not realize that its not that far from a busy highway. I come here with my sports friends to play some games, and while the more open fields are uneven, theyre typically well taken care of (no patchy grass, no trash from parties and previous groups, etc).

Great park. Wooded trail surrounds historic Thornwald Mansion. Small outdoor amphitheater. Lots of open space for outdoor activities. Close to 81.

Beautiful place but really disappointed at the amount of trash I found along the nature trails. I picked up a bags worth. Wishing they’d take more care of the trails or put warnings about littering. I also found a used condom and clothing in the parking lot. I wasn’t touching that...

Meandering trails, delightful mix of wildlife, and the beautiful restoration work on the mansion make this one of my favorite places to go for a nature walk, when I dont have time to actually leave town.

This place is super convenient to Carlisle residents. Explore and the mansion, play Frisbee, run your dog (close to you because this is by a road), and enjoy the outdoors. Convenient to downtown and Walnut bottom shopping areas.
