I am very sad to see the state in which this historic place is located for this great and beautiful country. Many men gave the best of their lives and even their own lives to put this generous nation in the leadership of space science and humanity itself. From this place came the first American to space.There is no scheduled or authorized access to the interested party to visit and honor him. Thank you for your photographs and visit I have been able to see it. I wonder if I could share these pictures on the internet?

Awesome history; this launch pad was used for several manned and unmanned Atlas launches, including the Friendship 7 flight aboard which John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth.

This is really hallowed ground to me. This is where history was made.
