This is a pretty nice low-key car park for easy access to the beach. It’s free, (as I feel all beach parking should be) Bathrooms, showers, rocket launch viewing! The area gets crowded early.Did you know Cherie Down was only 43 when she died? She was a biologist for Brevard County Health Department at the time of her death.Her article titled ‘Shoreline Stabilization and it’s Impact on Receiving Waters’ expounding on the importance of planting vegetation on the dunes to preserve them is only a part of her efforts in protecting the fragile ecosystem that is our Florida coastline.

It was very peaceful when we came which was in mid November. It was a beautiful day. They could spruce it up a little bit, make it a little nicer. Its in a beautiful spot. from Chicago.

We spent a Sunday sunrise here. Beautiful. However, get here early to get set up and get a spot. Very popular place for sunrisers.

This Park is very nice. I recommend that you get there early too find a parking, but if you are patient enough a parking will become available. You can see the launch pad from this park which is really nice. You also have room to have distance from others. Remember this, The Sand can get extremely HOT but other them that..... Perfect.

LThis was a beautiful beach and a great sunrise, Clearwater and a very clean Sandy beach no debris no trash no seaweed washup no beach Erosion Tama this really woz and amazing experience at 1 of the best local secrets in the area cherry down park is amazing and I appreciate it every minute of it! Have a bad night, just go and watch the sunrise at the park and I promise you all of your troubles will melt away with the Sun sunrise _

Very nice access to the beach at Cape Canaveral. Plenty of parking space. The beach at that point is very wide, and the water level is low until you advance some 20 meters into the ocean

This is a good spot to park if youre going to the beach. Free parking and they have a bathroom. There is a little water station to get sand off of yourself and there are two ways to get to the beach. Easy spot to remember where you parked and it even has a little grassy spot that have a picnic bench with a cover.

PERFECT PLACE To have sand in your toes, relax, social distance, and listen to the sounds of the surf. A true blessing!

It was a great day at the beachWe found some cool shells and enjoyed watching amazing wind surfers. Parking was close and free. Restrooms were clean.

Came here to get a photo of a SpaceX Falcon 9 Starlink rocket launch in the morning hours. Not only was the view unbelievably beautiful then came the sun rise. Impressive viewing.

Easy access to the beach from the parking lot, not too big by the way. Showers by the parking lot and also bathrooms. Very convenient as you get out of the beach you may want to take off the wet bathing suit, but, the bathrooms were horrible very dirty and the toilets seems havent been flushed in a while. Other than that the beach was beautiful and the parking lot and showers works perfectly .

One of the best public beach accesses in Cape Canaveral, FL. Especially being able to walk the shores and experience the affects of Tropical/Hurricane storm Isaias. We got lucky, prayers for all of the eastern coast.

Pokemon stop and a Pokemon gym usually enough people to take down a high level gym! Yet not so many people you can not take a shower to rinse off under the beautiful Cape Canaveral sky. A gazebo to luncheon at big enough for 20 or so people great place to watch rocket launches from! Picnic tables about 6. 2 stall bathrooms vending machines. Well guarded parking area patrolled often by local law enforcement closes at dusk. Two decks leading into the sea grapes opening to the nice tan sands of Cherie Down Park!

We really like this Beach. Close enough to see the cruise ships leaving, not as crowded as the park by Port Canaveral and it is nice and quiet for the most part. Families are welcomed, kids have been well behaved and no crazy, disrespectful music being played. This time around there was a lot of dried seaweed on the beach, see photos.

Im from South Florida. Love Las Olas... Boca Raton, but here in Cocoa. This beach is clean, quite and the parking was easy. Waves are awesome for body surfing.

The beach here is beautiful! There are lifeguards, too. The park has a restroom, which is... functional. And theres an outdoor shower for rinsing the sand off. Parking is free.

A great beach park about a mile from Cocoa Beach pier. Nice surf. Showers. Bathrooms. Cute boardwalk and grounds. Picturesque. The only down side is parking, which can be challenging on holidays and weekends. Other than that, Cherie Down is an A+!!!

I love this place its my cocoa spot. Its close to the jettys and when the cruisea are happening you get to see the ships take off. Plus the side streets on the way to Cherie Down have beautiful peacocks everywhere. Furthermore there are bathrooms and outdoor showers...plus boardwalks to the beach...its lovely!!! There is one tip of advice and that is to get there early!!! Parking is limited. GREAT PLACE

Parking is limited but at least it’s free. Restroom facilities are very acceptable. People are considerate and practicing social distance. Beach is as wide as Cocoa Beach. Do not expect a snack bar. 6/1/2020

Cute park with the beach just a 1 minute walk! Lot of wild peacocks on the streets on the drive there. Best part is parking is free!!!

We got rained out. Otherwise its nice down there sunny and a bit crowded. But I still recommend!!

This park had some of the best waves I have ever seen. However, in comparison to other beaches around the area this has not that great of a background with the dark brown buildings.

Lots of sand and space to relax and set up your chairs. Seeing the sunrise there was wonderful. Only about 6 or 7 parking spots there so get there early if you can. Awesome location!

This beach access was okay, there was a ton of filler sand with sharp rocks. The area of the beach we were near the lifeguard tower looked dirty. There were ton of cigarette butts littering the sand. Don’t know if I’ll be back to this spot.

A bit limited in parking, but its a very short walk from the parking lot to the beach. It wasnt very crowded when I went. Clean, no trash. Did not see a lifeguard or lifeguard stand.

I love this area. Its usually not as crowded as the other parks, although sometimes it can be super hectic finding a spot on the weekends.

Drove my wife from the West Coast of Florida to Cherie Down Park at Cocoa Beach just to see the sunrise. Its very close to Port Canaveral and parking and accessibility to the beach is very convenient. And getting to watch the universes greatest artist paint these Exquisite pictures in the sky before your very eyes is second to none

I usually enjoy going to Cherie Down park. It is a nice way ti go to the beach away from big crowds. They have clean restrooms and an outside shower. Theres a little gazebo where you can gave a picnic. It was really windy today and it started raining. We had to turn around and go home.

Lovely section of beach access that is not as crowded as other sections. There was adequate parking when I went, but I could see this little section filling up quickly. All in all it made for a fantastic beach day.

Gotta get there early or wait for the parking spot a while. Bathroom facilities, short walk to the beach, wash station are a plus. Watch out for peacocks on the roads!

Beautiful, wide beach shoreline. Pristine east coast beach. We were there doing beach cleanup for my job at Camping World in Cocoa. I will return often!

Nice, off the beaten path, park. Lots of free parking. Tables and shelters protected by the dunes. Public restrooms. Steps from beach and Atlantic Ocean.

Nice park with a shower to rinse off after the sun and sand. We went after Hurricane Dorian and there was a TON of shells. Bathrooms were closed for repairs, but normally there are restrooms available. No meters like in Cocoa Beach so that is a big plus. Gets very crowded on nice weekends and parking goes quickly.

Its tucked away off the road a bit which is nice. It has public bathrooms and showers to use outside to wash sand off...thats a plus!

Had a few minutes to enjoy a quick lunch from Canaveral Meats and Deli with a friend. Stopped at the park to eat. Sat under the pavilion. The tables were clean. No trash in park. Garbage cans easy to find and not over flowing. Well landscaped and maintained. Lovely beach access and free parking!

Wide beach. lots of kite boarders to watch. Magnificent ocean. If you do swim watch for rip tides, lifeguards rescue a ton of unaware people in FL each year sadly some drown. Swim by a lifeguard, know what to do if caught in a rip tide. Watch your kids people, your 1 year old unattended by the edge of water and your chair facing away is irresponsible. Or any age. Be there, close.

This is the beach I always choose to go to. Parking is typically available and is never too loud. It’s a good place to park if you are looking to walk or run on the beach in either direction.

People are keeping distance. You can enjoy the sun and the view safely.

Great place, good parking lot with showers and bathroom, close to Cape Canaveral, if youre willing to take a not so long walk you can reach the pier where youll find restaurants, gift shops and other things.Try getting there before 10am, otherwise you may find a bit hard to find a spot to park wich is free by the way.Real calm place, high recommend it, if youre looking to get close to people and have fun you better park close to the pier instead.

Beautiful beach. Was introduced to this place by a friend. Not a lot of parking, but its free. Must go before and after peak hours for a better chance of parking. But thats typical for free parking in the area. The park was clean, had outdoor showers, and a restroom facility. Thers also a pavilion and an open field for play or picnic or party. Pavilion should be reserved if youre having an event. Otherwise, first come first serve.

We love the area in the corner by the ship entrance and exit. The water is shallow enough to where my baby can play in the surf. The crowd is perfect, never a lot of people.

Parking is hard to find. Get there early! Did not see a playground for the kids. Would recommend walking with a beach umbrella, chairs and vinegar. Lots of jellyfish.
