Went kayaking and fishing. Seen a huge striped bass in the shallows. Biggest fresh water fish Ive ever seen. To smart for my bate.
Easy to find and get to. I would rate it as an easy hike. After the initial climb, its relatively flat.In the parking area theres more than one trail you can take and they are not well marked. One has a ramp for bikes, its the one to the left of that.If you take dogs be aware that its open range and there will be cattle.... in our case, right in the middle of the trail. Theyre not aggressive but some dogs dont react well. There was one creek crossing (about 4 feet across) and its very shallow (couple inches) this may be gone or dried up in summer time. Not a lot of scenery or challenges, its just a hike. Would also be a decent mountain bike trail for beginners.
Nice trail close to Camp Verde with beautiful views. Its an easy to moderate trail. The day we went it was muddy (due to heavy rains the day before) but still passable. Pay attention leaving the parking lot that youre on the correct trail. Also about a quarter mile in the trail splits 3 directions, take the middle and follow the no atv sign and head up the hill. Besides that you will enjoy this trail.
I love this hike . The views are breath taking
One of my favorite places for a quick mountain bike ride!
I would encourage all who choose to hike here to help maintain the trails. Its a wonderful place for a quick hike or ride, although its definitely nicer when the falls are flowing.
Great place to relax and let the dogs run and get some exercise
Easy trail that traverses typical terrain in the Verde Valley. The trail gets pretty close to I-17 and you can hear the noise of cars sometimes. There are some ruins including scrap metal and an old animal pen that are neat to check out. Good escape trail when its too cold to hike in Flagstaff.
4 mile bike, easy to moderate, 400 elevation change at 3800 above sea level. Very typical Arizona plateau hike.
Nice place to walk to.
Great place to getaway
Great place to hike get away from people and enjoy yourself
It was beautiful the sunset and trail was light nice easy hike Would recommend a 10 out of 5 stars
Nice trails for riding !
The hike was great, a little muddy after all the snow but good. While your up there go to JTs Bistro in Verde Valley, both worth the drive
Well worn trail. Moderate difficulty. Good views with a waterfall. Watch for horse manure. The entrance road is well marked but very rough.
Best place for star gazing
Lots of ppl but cant hold that against a great hike thats maintained.
The road out is nicely maintained, there are beautiful picnic tables and a few different trails to choose. The trail to the west is a nice four mile loop.
It started off TERRIBLY! The park is for vehicles 50 or less and that is what we have, a CFMoto 800 Zforce! We were UNABLE to cross over the cattle guard type barrier to enter the trail, our bottom got stuck! A friend a few days prior warned us as he went over and tore up his whole bottom and had to be towed! Thank goodness the horse door was able to open and we drove through that. AFTER that, the ride was beautiful, we went all the way to 9603S to return on 260. We also can NOT find the rest of FR136? nothing is posted, it is supposed to run along I-17.. anyone have any suggestions?
Great hill to hike up to. Plenty of parking and a bathroom. Also for horseback riding.
Our favorite local hike!
My friend and j ride our horses here and enjoy it very much.
Hidden gem
Day use only, no camping. Bathroom locked.
Beautiful view and wild life
Awesome!
See the falls
Have to drive thru a live gun shooting area to get to trail head parking. NOT OK!!!. Scared my dog, and me. Very trashy.
Beautiful
