Went to visit this place on the advice of a friend and must say we did not get disappointed at all. This boutique vineyard is hidden out of sight and is way off the main road but it is worth the trip. When we arrived there we encountered a very lovely and well-run property. They offer wine tasting, tours, weddings in a chapel, light fare to pair up with the wine, live music, and more. If you are into wines or are just looking for a new experience, I highly recommend Alcantara Vineyards.

We searched for a winery that had a vineyard, and we were elated to find this close location with good reviews. Although there is a sign that states mask must be worn at all times, apparently this rule does not apply to those who work here. Upon entering and looking at the menu, we were immediately annoyed by the presence of a family not wearing masks as well as the person serving them food. Clearly, this violation corresponds to one who does not care about science and health regulations. As she was gleefully laughing and breathing over their food while serving them with a smile. We will never return and strongly suggest before you go to please reconsider.

Only reason not scored higher is due to slow service. Wines are great for AZ grown. Would place up against California wines.Views are very good from patio. Some of the whites could use more time in barrel to age more and develop more flavor.

Alcantara is a quaint winery with an amazing atmosphere, especially on days that they have live music. They have a great selection of whites and reds, and a rustic environment thats minutes from Camp Verde. My friends and I had a great time there (for 4 hours) and we will definitely be back!

We did the water to wine kayak adventure, and this was a welcome little oasis after a hot day kayaking! Super cute outdoor area that I wish we could have enjoyed, but too hot for July. We are definitely NOT wine connoisseurs, but we enjoyed everything we sampled and took a bottle to go. Staff was friendly and over all we had a great afternoon there!

I was at this winery yesterday as part of the kayak package. We were so excited to be there and thought the setting was absolutely beautiful. However, our fun social distancing outing quickly turned to disappointment as were were greeted at the entrance by either a hostess/or owner /or manager (Im not sure as she did not say who she was) who was not wearing a mask. We then went to the wine station where the sommelier was in a mask but the employees at the station behind her, were not wearing a mask. Additionally, my food was served by the same hostess/perhaps owner or manager, again not wearing a mask! This is shocking given that we are in the midst of a pandemic. Restaurant employees should always be masked. This woman, handed me my plate and therefore ruined my lunch and made us feel unsafe on a day we chose carefully, due to the high safety aspect. The response below is disappointing. You are restaurant employees if youre delivering food to a table.

Very good wine and great scenery and the water to wine kayak trip itself was very fun and relaxing. With the water to wine kayak trip, you get a $20 voucher to use at this vineyard which is what we did. While the vineyard itself is very pretty and the wine is good, one staff member was kind of rude. My friend and I have never done a wine tasting before so we were a little confused and at first we weren’t sure what “Number one, number two” meant because she was dashing around between customers and it felt kind of rushed. So when she asked us what number we are on and we weren’t sure what she meant, she called us out in front of all the customers: “Cmon you gotta help me out here” in a condescending way. I recommend that this staff start asking people if it’s their first time doing a wine tasting and helping them out instead of acting snobby and posh towards people who look confused.

We went there yesterday and our first impression was of food bowls and cats. I’m an animal lover so I dismissed that. We then chose our samplers $15-20 for what we found out were those pre- measured tiny pours.i was on my second taste when I realized my glass had chapstick on it. Hostess just kinda laughed it off but all the glasses we had were spotty. Not really a tasting as glasses aren’t polished, only get one glass so pours intermix, such small pours to taste, expensive as well which I wouldn’t mind if the experience matched the price. Great potential but lots of room for improvement!

I absolutely love thier wines!!! I visited them wanting to try out other Arizona wines, I work for a winery as well. I can not express how impressed I am with the quality of thier wines! Even the drier reds, which is not usually my taste, were awesome! Packed full of flavor! Nothing was bitter nor does it leave you wishing for a better finish. I bought several bottles to bring home and nothing but great reviews so far! I would definitely drive back just to bring home wine by the case.

Driving down a twisting/turning road off RT. 260, youll pass livestock grazing area and the vineyard before arriving at an attractive villa straight out of Italian (or is it Spanish) hill country. If arriving by night, do go slowly as there are drop-offs and no guard rails.I had apprised the staff of my arrival and pre-ordered a special bottle of port to pickup. Hurrah! It was there, and I was efficiently checked out and back on road in under 10 minutes. Good going Alcantara, thank you.

Gorgeous scenery, the wine was fine, skip the food. This was part of a kayak package, and after a couple of beautiful hours on the river, arrived at the winery with a $20 credit. Used the outside bathroom to change out of wet clothes (clean, with supplies to further disinfect). Very nice back lawn with tables/chairs/umbrellas nicely spaced to encourage social distancing. Ordered a flight at the tiny outdoor bar, masked sommelier gave a nice description of the first pour. There was a little confusion about how to proceed, and when we were told to go back to our table with it and come back for the other pours (not fun! not relaxing!), decided to skip the flight and just order a full glass instead. Sommelier was very accommodating. Ordered food at the bar (there is no table service). Asked about the potato salad, a choice of side to come with the grilled chicken sandwich (is it fresh? Made on site? Not from a big tub from Safeway?) and we had a nice laugh and I was assured it was made there. Returned to our table, and sandwich arrived suspiciously quickly, delivered by the masked Sommelier, and stone cold with a little plastic cup of clearly store-bought potato glop. My friends caprese-skewers with pita plate was delivered fresh out of the walk-in (why did the pitas need to be pre-plated and cold?) by a mask-less employee. All in all, felt the winery could have done better with the food and service, but it was a gorgeous day at the vineyard, and the resident cats were charming.

This winery is part of the verde adventure package. I was so excited to see it. The river on this adventure was amazing the winery not so much. One lady short blond hair was very rude and basically made our group feel like we were unworthy of their service since we came in with a package from river. The wine bushes/trees were all cut back I didn’t even know they were the part of the vineyard. We ordered two bottles of wine both bottles were horrible. Bitter taste. Not a fan of this place.

The wines were subpar and the staff was unwelcoming. If you order a flight you can only get two at a time and they serve in plastic cups (ours were half melted). Were heading up to Sedona and decided to make a little detour here to try out some of the wines. The grounds here a really cool and when we arrived there were a lot of tables outside and someone playing live music. Service seems a little bit iffy, took a while to get anyones attention despite standing at the bar, and during our tasting the person helping us didnt offer any information about any of the wines, just poured and dashed. My friend and I were doing two different tastings and a few times he mixed us up and gave us the wrong wine (not going to complain really because in the end we got to try more wines—but we had to keep reminding them which one we were on). I didnt think too much of this at the time but we visited some of the other wineries in the area and had really exceptional customer service experiences. All in all, the wines here are delicious and the setting is a great place to hang out—I just wish I got to know a little bit more about the wines and the history of the winery.

My mother is in a wheelchair and the entire staff was extremely kind and helpful. Accessible bathrooms are available. There is only one handicap parking spot, which was a bit of an inconvenience at first, but we realize it is a very small place of business and we made it work. The accesible bathrooms are right by the parking spot, so that was very nice! Wines were delicious and we were happy to support the local community during our trip to Arizona. Love the decor and feel of this place. Very Tuscan. We visited on a day where they had live music. Beautiful scenery. They also have a little chapel area off in the distance. I like how they let you wander around the vineyard with your glass in hand. The VIP wine tasting option is the way to go. The variety of wines are great. I myself, like sweet white wines, but there are the bitter pill dry wines as well lol. Since I didnt rate 5 stars, I guess I should mention some of the cons. To start, dont get a car wash before coming. Major dirt road getting into the vineyard. Its the kind of fine dirt that sticks to all your windows! Staff were extremely helpful and great, however.....there is NO organization to this place. Meaning everyone just walks up to the counter and starts barking out their order. If you dont speak up and get the wine servers attention you will be overlooked. There also isnt a check out line. You literally could walk out of the place and never pay! This place does get crowded. Not enough seating. Some of the food on the menu is way overpriced for what you get. I had the individual cheese board. It had about 2 grapes, 2 crackers, and maybe about 3 small slices of different cheeses. If I remember right, it cost between $12-15 bucks! Although that lemon cake is to die for! I would return just for that lemon cake alone lol. mmmm did I mention the lemon cake. :p..

We are a group of 10 professional women who took a Saturday to relax and enjoyWe went to javalina winery and Page Springs winery and had an amazing timeThen we went to Alcantara we walked in and immediately the 2 women behind the bar were incredibly RUDE and told us WE COULD NOT BE INSIDE. We all went outside where a table was set up for our party but it was incredibly hot and humid so two of us went inside to get a glass of wineAgain the women pouring the wine we so rude . They told us there was a person outside that will serve us and that we had to go outside. I asked for a glass of wine and the women rolled her eyes and walked away..... at this point I made a comment that i was going to write a negative review. For the record I am a Buisness owner and have never written a negative review... positive reviews are all I have ever written but this experience was so appalling I am compelled to share it.Next thing I know 2 police officers walk in the wineryApparently one of the employees called 911 to report us... the employee proceeds to tell the police that we are a group of privileged Scottsdale women who were causing a scene... the police were very professional and saw that we were nothing but respectful and just wanting to escape the heat in the air conditioner..... at this point the owner came to talk to us she was very nice but the damage was doneYou are only as good as your worst employee...THERE ARE SEVERAL WINERIES IN THIS AREA WHERE THE WINES ARE LOVELY AND YOU WILL BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND WELCOMED....
