Super location for Hikers, Campers, travelers and small group events. Located right on Route 1 This is a very popular tourist stop. The day use park is directly across the street from the entrance to Mount Battle and the campground. Weddings are held atop the mountain as well as the day use pavilion. This is a no frills location - with beautiful views. The flowers pictured are ours ...we held a wedding this autumn day. The backdrop is the ocean which didnt show up well in this photo.

We enjoyed the hike to the overlook. It takes roughly an hour to reach the Ocean Lookout from the second parking lot after the entrance. It is worth the effort. The terrain gets steaper near the submit, but its manageable. If you have hiking sticks, you may want to bring them for the descent.A very clean toilet that is disinfected twice daily is located near the parking lot. After the hike, you can drive to Mount Battle Overlook for more beautiful vistas.Expect 4-5 hours for the visit to the park. The entrance fee is reasonable.

Best spot in town for a sun set. They close at 6 so be sure to get there around 5:30 to catch the sun going down. Beautiful views of the harbors and neighboring towns.

We visited this Park once again to drive up to My. Batte. We had camped here some time ago but this time we didnt have time to camp. The staff as usual were welcoming and kind. Probably because of Covid-19, there werent many people which made the drive up and down leisurely as well as the few people at the top.The view from the top is fabulous--of the city Camden, the harbor, and the surrounding islands, lighthouses and mountains. Even though it was a little foggy, we could still see a long way. The maps identifying the islands, mountains and lighthouses were helpful in recognizing what we were viewing. This is a great location for photography and painters. We saw a couple of individuals with their equipment.I strongly recommend visiting this Maine state park.

Camden Hills campground is a very peaceful and quite campground. It’s kind of on the small side, which we appreciate, but the sites are well spaced out and roomy. there are many trees which is nice to block that hot sun. The laundry room is very clean and well lit. The pool too was clean and well taken care of. The Hosts at the time (Heather and Stephen) were very helpful and friendly. The location of the camp was also convenient to Camden and the other towns close by. We stayed here in a 42ft fifth wheel, in Aug of 2020. When In Maine and in the area I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely camp sites.. Quiet at night as most tired from the hiking and biking. Trails are not the easiest to navigate with maps provided,,, mostly other hikers are your guides. Trail Views are outstanding for the coast of Maine. Bathrooms clean and well maintained. If looking to do some hiking right out of the campground it works just remember the trail map is just the length of the trail once you reach it.....it could be .5 to 1 mile uphill to even reach the trail. Interesting enough no real bugs even sitting out at the campfire late at night.

This park has a beautiful shoreline, excellent camping for tents and campers, and a large network of trails in the Camden Hills Mt Battie and Mt Megunticook. The trails lead to a variety of excellent views of the town of Camden, the ocean, and the surrounding countryside. I recommend walking but there is an auto road to the top of Mt Battie.

Shaded site with the old rv with barely functioning air conditioning.... means a lot. We discovered this for the past six days at a half day sunny private Campground where the views were nice but the sun too hot in August afternoon sun. So upon parking in our spot, in this shady pine scented spot, I knew we could stop arguing about using the air conditioning for a few days. What a relief. As hubby checked us in there was a plexiglass between him and office staff with outdoor table to fill out the registration form. There is nice spacing between sites and it seems very quiet here and everyone is very friendly. Photos taken atop Mt. Battie, the access road for which is right at the intersection of the Campground. I love that we can go up the road (toll road), toll free as many times as wed like. Since i continue to find new things i cant do with my handicaps, seeing views i used to be able to hike for is priceless.

We camped here for 2 nights with a motor home. Our site was secluded with trees both sides but not at all level. We enjoyed the hike to Mount M from the camp site especially the ocean view section which is about 0.5 miles before the summit. The water from the nearest tap marked “water” was yellow which was rather worrying.

We stumbled upon this last minute and loved it. They have very wooded spots for tents- it seemed like their RV sites were not wooded. They had water every 10 sores or so for campers to get, and they had showers that were unattached to the bathroom (single person showers). The heat in the showers was nice, but you couldn’t control it. Overall, love the campground. If you are looking to access the top of the mountain, do so through the campground as the google maps location takes you down a private road and you have to turn around.

Due to social distancing in Maine, there were not many people at the State Park today. The weather was great for outdoor activities. We went for a short hike along the shoreline and cooked out on a charcoal grill. Knowing the park only has small grills, we brought a portable grill so we could cook most of our food at the same time. We didnt have problems with bugs until just before we had planned to head home. My phone battery died so I didnt get any pictures.

This is a great small state park. You can experience the rocky coast of Maine and/or climb a mountain all in one place. There are trails along the shore with benches and picnic tables. On the mountain side of the park, you can drive up to the top of Mt Battie or you can hike. There is even a small parking lot about half way up so you can get a shorter hike.

I camped here for 3 nights. The campground is good. The campsites arent very private, but you also arent on top of each other. The bathrooms are great. Showers are free. There are lots of hiking opportunities. Ocean is accessible from across the street. No beach here, but there are two nearby. Camden has a lot to do, shopping wise. I saw Romeo and Juliet at the Camden Shakespeare Festival while in town.

Beautiful scenic views from the summit of Mt Battie inside Camden hills State Park. You can drive right to the summit (only about 800 ft elevation) which was great since we had a toddler with us and it was cold and windy. Price to enter Park is $6/adult for non residents, $4 for locals, and includes parking which is nice. There are also trails if you are interested in hiking but we didnt have time to check them out.

I had different expectations from this place. The view from the top is amazing! You can see far away, plus I travel during fall so all the colored trees make the view a lot better. One of the things that I didnt thought about was the wind. Particularly the day that I went to see the park it was extremely windy, so it was really cold, and this park is mostly for walking (which I was not expecting) So the only thing that I was able to do was going to the top and then leave, because the other areas are only accessible hiking. So, if you have plans on visiting this park during the cold months, plan ahead and bring warm clothes for the hike. One thing I personally recommend, is visiting during fall or probably summer. Fall the colors are amazing, every tree has different colors so the view can’t be compare to anything. Photo @karlagmphotography
