A MUST DO!!!My boyfriend and I took a trip to Camden and what a beautiful town. We were told about the schooner sunset sail, and I’m so happy we decided to do it. It was awesome to be able to see the coast from a sea view, learn around the area, and sailing in general! Captain Gus and the crew were extremely personable, and charismatic, they made the trip that much better. Grab a drink and enjoy the views, you’ll really get an authentic feel of life in middle Maine!

Fantastic sailing experience with knowledgeable staff, efficient ticketing, entrance to the schooner, and sailing acumen. Our staff of just three made the entire trip an educational and enjoyable experience. Never having sailed on such a vessel, I was fascinated by the sails unfurling and the skill of the captain to navigate in windy and sometimes tight waters. The view was amazing! We saw osprey, seals and many seabirds. Highly recommended!

We had a perfect day for a sail and the lunch was good. The crew was attentive serving drinks and lunch. Our only disappointment was an almost total lack of commentary. It would have been so much better knowing what we were seeing and a little history about the area. After some complaint, we did go by Curtis Island Lighthouse and there was a brief commentary. This part could be better.

Loved the entire experience!!! Amazing crew, amazing views, the whole thing was incredible. 10/10 recomend to anyone visiting Camden. For reference the crew was Gus, Colleen, and Robby. Impressed by how they handled the fog too.

Captain Sean and crew were amazing! Friendly and informative, they seem to have a lot of fun doing the cruise and, as a result, everyone on the boat does, too! The cruise itself out of Camden Harbor and into Penobscot Bay is breathtakingly beautiful! I can’t recommend this cruise highly enough! Book it! You’ll LOVE it!!!

We have sailed the Appledore 9 times. Will do #10 in August. It is a great sail with great history. Every sail is different as you will have different weather and sometimes crew. With the changing weather determines the wildlife etc. My advice is sit back, enjoy the view, sail and your drink. Just relax! You will not be disappointed!

Fascinating and so cool! Seann and his crew were fun and knowledgeable. It was the perfect kind of tour: a mix of some good information about the area but also, if we wanted, we were able to zoom out to enjoy the quiet of nature and a beautiful sail around Camden. The tour takes about 2 hours in and out but it feels longer, relaxing, energizing with all the ocean around. We even saw many porpoises swimming around. Worth the money, the time and again, the “captain and crew” were super cool! To go alone, as a couple, as a family or with friends! Highly recommended.

Nice trip if you enjoy or would like to try sailing

Ive been on the Appledore twice- once during the sunset sail and once on a mid day sail. Both times were excellent! You see incredible views and get to walk around a beautiful, spacious boat. Bonus: they serve alcohol (which the other schooners do not). The crew is attentive and entertaining so theres never a dull moment! Truly great for the whole family!

The online description is a gross misrepresentation of what it actually is. The description said see historic sights and seals along the rocky coastline. We went straight out into the harbor a ways and turned around and came back. Not at all what was advertised. We were disappointed.

Beautiful ship thats been around the world. Very friendly crew with good senses of humor. Good selection of drinks available and blankets are provided if you feel the need. We took the music trip featuring Geoff Kaufman it added quite a bit to the experience. Highly recommended!

Wonderful time...been on this boat several times and enjoyed every time.The crew has always been nice and fun. They also serve the best bloody Marys I have every tasted!! A fun excursion for a very reasonable price. Every time we get to Camden we book it.

What a great time. Aboard the Appledore ll for a sunset cruise . 11/2 hour time. Worth the money. And they are pet friendly.
