Excellent Dinner Train. Food was fresh and prepared perfectly. Enjoyable experience.

We took the experience of the train dinning ride on fall to enjoy the view of the yellowish-orange foliage and the trip was a pleasant one, the crew was very courteous, the trip is about 3 hours length the round trip, the dinner was delicious however the size of the plate was a bit small, try the local beer from the train if you are a beer lover, you can enjoy a lake view before you start your ride and after the ride you still can hang out in downtown street, parking is available, we found about that in Sunday was free, not sure is every Sunday is the same, price is reasonable, experience is good!

The train ride was so picturesque as we rode through the country side. Beautiful area! The staff was very polite and attentive as they served us our dinner which was very good and a beautiful presentation of plating. It was lacking some bread or rolls with the meal. The only other thing I wish they had was some interaction with the passengers as we rode the tour. Thanks to Green Mountain Railroad for mostly a good evening.

My company decided to have an anniversary party on the dinner train. I must say I was very much impressed with both the atmosphere and the quality of the food. As one might imagine, the options are limited, but not lacking in diversity. Highly recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Champlain Valley Dinner Train Ride we took last fall as well vacationed throughout New England. The thrill and romance of reminiscing of a time long gone where the nation regularly traveled by this mode of transportation. Very beautiful as we rode through the countryside returning just as the sun was setting over Lake Champlain. Magnificent. For dinner, we started off with a plate of cheese and crackers, brie, grapes and dates. Very tasty and filling. Next we were served salad of harvest greens followed by the main course which we both chose the small plate of roast prime sirloin steak with Yukon whipped potatoes and baby carrots. Dinner finished off with a desert of warm apple crisp served with vanilla ice cream. For drinks, Doris enjoyed her Caramel Apple Sangria while I enjoyed a couple cold von Trapp Pilsner beers. We found the portions to be adequate and were quite comfortably full after dinner. Check our my photos covering all of the above. So many of our railroads have been lost to the history books and memories. I hope Green Mountain Railroad will continue to be around for a long long time

We celebrated our first anniversary with dinner on the train. It was wonderful.

Great place for date night!

My wife and I bought tickets for the lounge 99 bar car. It was a great experience! An hour and a half to middlebury and an hour and a half back. Live music [by sammy blannchet for that particular weekend, he was awesome!] great drinks, and great, friendly service. Many different experience options [which vary in price], we will absolutely be back for another ride!

This dinner train was absolutely beautiful. The food and atmosphere were great!

We rode in the Lounge 91 car and even though you select seats on the website, they tell you when you get there to sit anywhere. Some people werent happy having to sit across from their spouse. The music was terrific. Best thing about the trip. Dont worry about sitting on the lake side or country side. Go ride the train to enjoy the company of friends or to listen to the music. You cant see any scenery for the forest of trees blocking the way. Maybe 2 minutes of the lake is visible, but you dont need the train to see that. Hor derveres we basically a few fruit and cheese trays they told people to pass around. A couple of other items they cooked were ok, but the presentation was lacking. People dont want to have to ask someone they dont know to pass the tray of food over to them. My wife wasnt hungry at first so she waited a little while thinking it was unlimited hor derveres as advertised but when they stopped passing the trays around they never brought anything else after that. Just want people to know what to expect. Had we gone with friends to socialize, we would have probably had a blast. But we hoped to see some beautiful scenery and we were disappointed that we only got to see a lot of leaves passing by. Then when the train reached the halfway point, it went backwards and we got to see them again.

Food was great, service was absolutely terrible.

Green Mountain Railroad is a fun train ride exprence we ben on the hunted express and amazig themes for each season if you like trains or haven’t seen it ride the rails and enjoy the ride!
