I had a great time at Dankwardt Memorial Park yesterday afternoon. I enjoyed the archery range there while my friend that I rode out there with took her dog for a couple of mile walk. We all had a great time and look forward to going back there again soon. Dankwardt Memorial Park is a destination in itself that I highly recommend if you have the chance to go there.

They take good care of this park. It is always mowed and free of trash. The picnic tables are clean. I like to get lunch and eat it in the park. Last time, I saw a woodpecker, but could get a good picture of it.

One of the most amazing city park Ive ever been to. Lots of things to do in different sections of this park. Their is also trails and lots of wildlife to see here. Its absolutely beautiful

Grandbaby has such a good time at the playground. There is plenty of equipment for the kids and even an old war memorial statue which they may play on and plenty of photo opportunities as well. Public restroom close to playground.

The Sewer Trail is a long time favorite in town, and a personal favorite for me and my friends. Just ignore the signs saying it isnt a trail, its never really been dangerous for much of anyone. And furthermore, the warnings arent enforced by anyone.About the trail itself, its all gorgeous views all the way down the trail. Many beautiful streams, an awesome little gully and waterfall. People often dump things into that valley there, which is unfortunate, though my friends and I have found it more of an interesting boon than a detriment. Scavenging interesting items and finding weird things is always cool.Are there plenty of potentially dangerous spots? Yes, absolutely. However, anyone with half a brain isnt going to be hurt. The trail is pretty wide, and rarely ever slippery at all, unless its an especially wet autumn. Sometimes the leaves on the trail will get slippery, but that is rare.Besides the sewer trail, dankwardt definitely has plenty of other interesting trails and features, such as the disk golf.

Great park, one of the best play areas for smaller kids. Lake Starker for geese and youth fishing, old fashioned red curly slide, statue & canon guns, water fountain, band shell, and cabin museum.

Main street bridge still isnt open after many years. Nice well kept park. Disc golf, skatepark and a small playground. Good place for family gatherings. Tennis courts and pool in the Summer.

Very nice park. Packed with RAGBRAI. Used the pool to swim laps. But they dont have a lap lane so was a challenge.

Great park - next to Crapo park. Its pretty cool reading the history how Mrs Dankwardt donated the land for this park. Look it up while youre sitting under one of the many old oak, ash or hickory trees. I will post pictures of the deer we saw on our first visit.

Skatepark is awful. Its becoming more dangerous than it is fun. The ground is basically a cheese grader for your body and the ramps are a whole different story.

Easter weekend

Nice park, I am a disc golfer so thats my main interest. And it is one of the worst disc golf courses in the area. It is a bad design, plus it has several safety issues. There are several back ups plus the flow is terrible. You have to cross a busy street three times. And they are home made baskets, that are at least 20 years old. All other Citys in the area have new baskets in or will be in with-in the next month or so. There are probably more players in Burlington than any other City in the Southeast Iowa area, and they have by many peoples opinion the worst course.

You can see deer here every day.

Great family friendly park for anything including archery, disc golf, hiking, skating and many more activities.

DISC Golf corse is nice. Simple but a range if challanges for a novice.

This park is AWESOME! It has it all. Eighteen hole frisbee golf, lots of nice pavilions for parties/celebrations, a skate park, playground, hiking/biking trails (some through the woods are on poured concrete trails 15 above ground), a municipal pool (mediocre), and an old bridge metal grate bridge closed to vehicles. Right next to this park is Crapo Park. Crapo has a historic log cabin, views of the Missisippi, hidden springs, and more trails. They perform concerts during the summer here, and theres a color changing water fountain. Have I sold you on how amazing this park is yet?!
