This museum is so far a potential museum in what used to be the store and office of the former mill. Fun to look at the old contents of the store. The elderly people who took care of this place are getting older, so the park service is taking care of it.In the hands of expert museum managers, this could be a wonderful museum about textile in the entire state. I stumbled upon it thru Google. Im glad I went. I enjoyed the drive to the museum. Enjoyed chatting with the park ranger. Check it out. Support it

I spent at least half a day at this great museum. I had gotten fascinated by the production of Alamance Plaid in this area and I got to learn all about it. They even had a few samples of the plaid to give away!

Amazing amount of work has gone into gathering artifacts and information regarding this important part of Alamance County’s history. I would highly suggest a field trip to this location asa part of every family’s Sunday afternoon.

My family and I went on a Sunday afternoon and had the best time! Our two boys (10and 5) are home-schooled so we treated it as an educational field trip. There is so much to see and learn about, not just about the areas textiles and the equipment, but about life during the height of the mills, in the late 1800s. I thought my boys would be bored, particularly the five year old, but they really loved it and have asked to go back. The two wonderful ladies working there took ample time to show my boys everything and were totally knowledgeable about the era and the equipment. It was a great experience!
