I love this theater. The seats are comfy, the staff is kind and the popcorn is great. When movie theaters are open, I would MUCH rather go here than a Regal/AMC.

This is a small, very homey theatre. It has three screens. The staff is very friendly and I enjoyed my time there. I was actually surprised to find a major release movie here, but it was sold out everywhere else so I took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. Its not the most technologically up to date theatre, but it was not a bad experience at all. I will be going back.

Beautiful theater. Its a small theater, only three screens, but that should not deter you. The seats are comfortable, big, and recline. Concessions are fairly priced, very yummy popcorn. You can get by easily with medium sizes all around and still have leftovers. Bathrooms are very clean. I definitely recommend catching a movie there if you can.

A bit pricey...but almost all theatres are...but I loved this theatre. Very clean for an old building...seats were exceptionally comfy. They serve beer!

The Amherst Theatre has a convenient location, just off of Main St. Its easy to see from the road and offers close parking to the theatre. The seats are very comfortable. I saw a matinee showing of The Dead Dont Die for $8; thats an excellent ticket price. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place itself has a bit of an older vibe (which I am fan of). The Amherst Theatre is absolutely worth paying a visit

New releases in a decidedly clean and comfy setting always works for me, and the Amherst Theater delivers this well. That all of the expected munchies are also available seals the deal for me. Its a nice place when waiting for FIOS or Netflix just will not do.

Celebrating my granddaughters six bday. Wonderfully clean and a great atmosphere for children during matinee times. Will be back soon. Four more granddaughters dont you know.

I am loving the center auditorium. Talk about a theater experience. Feels magical watching films in that baby.Otherwise the other screens on the sides do the job and have nice new seating too.5 stars for that center auditorium though. What a gem.

One of the best theaters in Buffalo. Location on Main Street near Kenmore Avenue. Good, close parking. The movie house has 3 theaters, all with very comfortable seats with extending footrests. Full service popcorn, drinks, etc.Admission price is $7.00 or $7.50.This is the place to go to see current movies as well as international and special films also. Possible to see some different kinds of movies you would not normally find in larger movie complexes. Located in a small plaza with a Tops Supermarket a few steps away. Get everything done at once!

Two very popular showings out of three were showing there today and it was super chaotic. For the short staff they had. Three people. Otherwise it was probably as organized as can be given that people were polite to each other. Small place two popular films. Too chaotic.

Tonight was the first film for the semester of the Buffalo film seminar class at UB. They show all films for the class here, and theyre open to the public! The professors for the class discuss/introduce each film, show the film, then more discussion and Q&A after!!

An old theater thats had a major glow up with the introduction of recliner seats. There are three auditoriums and a decent snack selection. The bathrooms and waiting area are very small but clean and well stocked. The Buffalo Film Seminar, which runs every Tuesday from 7pm to 10pm, is an institution and a worthwhile escape regardless of whether youre a film student or not.

Many of the staff have been there for years. Better prices than the big chains. Clean and comfortable seating and temperature.

Our top choice in theaters. I know many theaters have upgraded their seats...I cant tell you why, but these are much more comfortable. Also enjoy their movie selection and the old time theater feel still present in the lobby.

Love this Grand old theater

Excellent theater for independent and first run movies close to downtown Buffalo. New recliner chairs are great! Excellent popcorn, coffee, and dont forget the cookies dipped in Heathbar or chocolate. They also host the Buffalo State film class once a week during session which are open to the public and are fantastic.

For such a small local theatre, I recommend supporting this small business by making in-house purchases of drinks & snacks. Small theatres like this rarely make any money (if at all) from ticket sales, so spending money on concessions here is the locally supportive thing to do!

Cheap theatre that has a nice atmosphere and frequently shows independent films. The seats are comfy albeit a bit dirty but you really cant beat the value of this place.

I enjoy this theatre as it is not too big and they have excellent films, comfortable seats and very good pop corn. It feels like home as we go there often for the film seminar and some regular films too.

Same experience as the rest. Nice atmosphere, no complaints. I just wish better movies were being produced to make it worthwhile to go to the movies!

I saw Tully with Charlize Theron yesterday May 5 here & I really liked the new look since I went before way back in 2008 I remember it being really dark & really loud during a movie not anymore it was very enjoyable & I highly recommend the Dipson Amherst Theatre for enjoying a movie you will not be disappointed & I was pleasantly surprised thats for sure

Thursday Night Terrors at the Amherst are the best thing I never knew I needed in my life.

This is one of my favorite theaters in Buffalo from the time I was a kid. So glad it is still open. Great prices and great movies.

Love the soda machine and the couch like seat you get to pick yourself. IF its the same place Im thinking of - the movie theater....
