This is a MUST see cave! They have a gift shop, flushing bathrooms that are clean, hiking trails (we went in October & they had fun scarecrow scenes set up along the trails), a butterfly house (although it wasn’t in operation-Covid 2020), but the best part was the underground boat ride inside the cave and our experienced guide! So glad we were able to experience this natural wonder!

This place is a little hidden gem. Our tour guide was laid back and funny, and she definitely knew her history. You walk across a bridge and down a little trail to get to the boat ride. It’s a short ride, but well worth it. At one point you can touch the cave ceiling. The history surrounding it being an old nightclub is mind blowing. So glad I stopped. After the boat ride there is a mile or so of trails leading to other little “blue holes” and a small waterfall. The butterfly house was under construction, as were the zip lines I believe. But still 100% worth it in my opinion. The trails were really nicely maintained with mostly fresh white gravel and the trail actually attached to another trail, one of Kentucky’s “green ways” for about half a mile.

Beautiful area and very cool cave to visit! The gift shop had lots of cute items and souvenirs. Yes, the actual boat tour is maybe 30 minutes long, the cave isn’t that big but it is worth to visit. Wear shoes with a good grip and watch your head in a few spots! The guide was very friendly and funny. The tour sells out so make sure to book ahead.

I took my two teens to Lost River Cave for the boat tour. We had a great time. Never been in a cave before. The tour guides were funny and the history of the cave is very interesting. I am disabled so I called in advance to see if I could even get on the boat. Information given was accurate and when I arrived everyone I encountered was very nice and helpful. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. For 20 bucks, you cant beat it.

This was a neat experience and a fun cave tour. We liked the stories about the history of cave, it would have been nice to have a little more explanation about the science for my kids. This was the only river we saw in any of the caves in the area so it was definitely a unique experience. You will get a little damp on the tour and you do have bend way over for about 30 seconds to a minute to avoid hitting your head on the way into and out of the cave.

Making reservations online for this was a snap. Arrived 30 minutes prior to the tour, killed some time outside on the trails for a bit. Guide started the tour promptly when it should begin. Very knowledgeable and informative. Markers around the cave provided information. Be prepared to put your head in your lap so that you can get under the cave ceiling in a couple spots. Tour was about 30 minutes onboard and 45 minutes in all. The zip line was closed but looked like a hoot to do. Very nice gift shop with unique, one of a kind gifts. All staff was friendly and personable.

Lost River Cave is a nice little tourist spot in Kentucky with a nice cool underground boat ride, butterfly garden, and Zipline park. Our tour guide Jess was great- she was funny, was very knowledgeable about the cave, kept a good steady pace and made sure we were comfortable staying within the CDC guidelines. Definitely worth checking out if youre in Nashville for a weekend as it is only an hour drive.

Great place to visit with family, great history, trails, and the cave tour was good. The prices are reasonable but the only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the actual cave tour. For $19.95 I’m thinking, at least, we would have almost two miles of cave to explore. It was a very SHORT cave tour. We went to the end of the cave and turned around and came back. However, great spot for a quick trip.

The tour was very good. We had two tour guides who were very knowledgeable. Whoop Whoop!! The experience of going into the cave on the boat is one that shouldnt be missed. The only down side was when our tour was over, we headed back to the gift shop to find it was already closed. The gift shop should be open until all your tours are complete so people can buy souvenirs. so disappointed that we werent able to get anything that would remind us of our visit.

The Lost River Cave tour was absolutely amazing! The guide was knowledgeable and funny as he provided historic background and geographical facts about the cave and river. Visiting in October gave the opportunity to see it in full color, and it was absolutely beautiful! We arrived at 2:40pm, took a 3pm tour, and enjoyed walking around the grounds/shopping, and left about 5pm. If you are crunched on time you could be done quicker, but it was nice to explore.Warning: the office/gift shop is loaded with adorable finds - everything from cookbooks and hot sauce to Christmas ornaments! As a WKU student, you would think I would have gone here well before my senior year, but I’m glad that I came when I did! (Btw, WKU students get half off ticket price, so bring your student ID) I went with my roommate and boyfriend, and we had a great time! Our tour guide was Linda, and she was amazing. I was nervous for the simple fact that there was a family who didn’t wear their masks, but by the time we were going to hop on the boat, Linda made sure they were given disposable masks, which made me feel so much better. She was super informative and funny, taking the time to answer all our questions. On the walk back after the boat tour, my roommate, boyfriend and I found a moth fresh from its cocoon. We called Linda over and she ran back down, excited to see it and share her knowledge. Overall, great experience! I went back a month later with my parents who visited.

Lost River Cave has a wonderful history and offers a boat ride to those who are interested. My guide was personable and welcomed questions from the group during the tour.As the boat goes into the cave there is an area where visitors have to bend over pretty far to keep from hitting their heads on the ceiling of the cave. The pictures I took using my phone didnt turn out very good and its difficult to prevent the flash from being in the eyes of other visitors since 1/2 of the guests face the other 1/2 on the boat.
