A good park with 3 sets of play equipment for toddlers, 3-5s, and 5+. Plus, it has swings for babies and older kids and a couple unique features like a meteor climbing rock and a crater sand box. The whole park is space themed. It also has a cool acoustic feature that creates an eerie echo effect that kids enjoy playing in.Great place for sledding in the winter. Has a nice bunny hill with a flat top and plenty of space for many families. Would be excellent for a blanket picnic in the warmer months. There are walking paths that go past and around the park with nice views of the mountains.

For a place that used to be a dump, there a great hill which is used during the Winter snow days as a sled zone. The park is named after astronaut Scott Carpenter, and there is a rocket ship in memoriam of his life here in the City of Boulder. The pool is currently being rebuilt, so parking is extremely limited for the moment, for your information. The park is quite safe, with transients (state trooper name for homeless pop.) keeping to themselves at the picnic benches and on the East fields. Watch out taking the BIKE PATH which is cramped especially at the Mountain/Creek-facing corner! This corner, which appears deceivingly as a footpath to both tourists and the elderly alike, is in fact part of a Bike Path! Unless you want to get creamed at 20 mph I suggest taking the dirt path (adjacent, will upload pics soon) or finding another route! The ambulances have blocked this path on more than one occasion whilst cleaning up.

Good during the day, not so much at night. The park itself is great, but the bathrooms need some taking care of. There are junkies sleeping in the bathrooms and paraphernalia on the ground around the bathrooms. I’ve walked in on a few with my young son in tow, and I’ve seen lots of children, young children, go in those bathrooms alone.

Previously the old Boulder landfill and wastewater treatment plant - now a community pool and park! This park has a lot of open grass space for picnicing, playing frisbee, or running your dog. The hill is a prime sledding spot after a snow. They also have a playground, swings, and a skate park. Plenty of parking too. I recommend coming right before sunset to watch the sun fade below the tips of the flatirons.

Have kids? This scenic park is a great place to play. Great playground equipment, skate park and pool or just enjoy a roll down the big green hill. This is a place where people practice Tai Chi and Karate or just sit in the shade. Boulder Creek is nearby if its hot and you want to wade in the water...though be careful as currents can run strong in spring. In winter, after a snow, this is the place to come for great sledding. Bring the dog but keep in mind they need to remain on a leash.

This is an excellent public park in Boulder, with a playground, skate park, swimming pool, and a large grassy, hilly area. The park itself is a terrific place for picnics and sledding, depending on the time of year. Perhaps best of all, its a place to enjoy the legacy of Scott Carpenter, one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts and a true hero. He laid the groundwork for the pursuit of science, knowledge, and exploration that has become a hallmark of Boulder.

Review №91

This is my favorite park in Boulder right now. It has free parking and is centrally located. It has plenty of space for little feet to run around. It also has a nice mixture of play structures. Kids between 1 and 10 should find opportunities for fun activity. It on the bike path and not far from the creek. Smaller children need close supervision here! That said, anyone who grew up in Boulder has fond memories of scaling, then playing in the rocket. Plus, it seems more stable now ;) Its nice to go to a park that was a lot of fun when you were young and see that its well maintained and exciting for your children.
