Great easy hike with stunning views of Boulder on the one side and mountain peaks from the other. Its quite a busy one. College students running up and down.Weve arrived around 6 pm on Monday, so we were able to find a parking spot.

We planned to do the first and second flat iron hike while passing through Boulder on our way from Golden to Estes Park.Unfortunately, we were the day after the big September snow storm (that shouldnt be a thing). We didnt want to just sit around though, so we decided to still do the hike.It was kind of icy in the snow, but it wasnt terrible. It was pretty in the forest with all of the snow. It was very foggy, so we really couldnt see any views. We ended up turning around a little before the top because I couldnt feel my feet (my shoes were soaked and it was 30 degrees) and there were no views to see anyway.Id love to come back to Boulder sometime and do this hike when I can enjoy the views and feel my toes!

This park has intensely challenging hikes, but once you are at the top of the mountain it is all worth it. Probably the steepest public park trail that I have ever been to, along the way up you are offered stunning views of Boulder for miles. As you progress through the trail you are offered forks that are well marked based on the level of difficulty.

Worth the hike, and its a steep one! You cant get to the top of the actual outcropping without climbing gear, though you can get pretty close. And the views going up, from the top, and going down are all amazing!!

This is the perfect trail for beginners looking for a challenging start. The trail is very well marked and usually wide enough for two people. Some parts are a little more technical than others but making it to the summit is totally worth it. The views are amazing and the rock climbers at the top are the nicest people you will ever meet.

This not too difficult trail is great! I hiked all three flatirons and it was a bit challenging at some points because I dont have too much control over my right arm and hand, but if I can do it, it should be a piece of cake for everyone else.

As I mentioned in a previous review, Im not sure which Flatirons are which, but Google Maps says I went to the first and second so here I am. Here are some more pictures. Thanks again to the city of Boulder and staff and volunteers who keep these trails clean and safe for the rest of us. Very much appreciated!

This is an incredible hike. We went in July 2019 on a sunny day. There had been so much rain that the trail was extremely lush. There were a lot of nice people on the trail and so many great photos opps of not only the flatirons but also of Boulder and CU. When you get to the top of the first flatiron, you might actually be at the top of the second. Keep going because the trail traps around the backside of the first flatiron and has a gorgeous view to the northwest with the Indian peeks and longs peak. Enjoy!!!

One of the best hikes in the boulder area. It is a little difficult, but you dont need that much experience to get to the get top. It is not too dangerous, but always be mindful when hiking in unfamiliar territory. Also if you dont want to pay for parking, make sure to drive a few blocks away on a side street in the residential areas. Ive parked there a dozen or so times and have never been towed or ticketed. Its a gorgeous hike, and a wonderful way to spend part of a day.

As an East coast gal, Im always so impressed with the friendliness of the people here in Boulder, especially whenever I hike. I enjoyed a less crowded trail because I went late Tues., and the dusk light was beautiful. If youre coming from sea level like me, itll feel like a mighty strenuous hike. I had no trouble with parking but on other days I have and would walk into the park from 12th Street. Thanks, Boulder, for being so hospitable!

We just want to spent some time before dinner after we arrived Boulder in last December. It was a surprise to visit this place. Great sightseeing to have a panoramic view of City of Boulder. We only finished the half way of trail since we arrived late in the afternoon and it became dark quite early in the Winter time. It was a good decent exercises. I am sure you will have a better view if you reach the end of trail and hillside of Flatiron. Highly recommended.

As far as front range hiking goes, you cant get much better than Boulders Flatirons. The entire hike up is relatively steep, so its a great place to work out. Once you hit the top, you are greeted with stunning views of Denver, Boulder, and the Great Plains. I would suggest this hike to any photographers or hikers looking for something close to home.
