A great pull out with a magnificent view! I just wish people would follow the rules a little better and pick up after themselves. Masks on the ground again ....

Really bummed out We didnt get to see the dam up close. I flew the drone and got some really good shots. We drove a 32 foot motorhome with an 18 foot trailer to the look out. If you go, look for the abandoned train tunnel down to the left. I almost missed it. Ill be posting a video of the drone footage looking at the lake and Hoover. Simply YouTube search my name or DRCRAWL

My girlfriend and I not knowing Hoover Dam was closed stopped at this Lakeview overlook and it was a beautiful place to stop and look. Bonus was totally the cute as hell Chipmunks that followed us all over!!

As youre driving to Hoover Dam, the Lake Mead - Lakeview Overlook is a nice spot that you can pull off the the road to take a picture. You can take a nice photo of Lake Mead from a decent vantage point. Its a little windy up here and there isnt a ton of parking, but I cant imagine people will stay here too long. This will be a quick little stop for a picture and then youre done.

We were hugely disappointed that the Hoover Dam was closed to the public. We were hoping we could see the dam from the overlook. The photos and historical boards provided in the overlook was a great look into how the Hoover Dam was built and it’s historical significance in today’s world. Will definitely try again next time.

It gives a great expansive view of the lake and the marina. Best if all its free. Was excited to visit the honey can for the first time, pity it was closed... This was a saving grace.

Drove to see the Hoover Dam and it was closed! No indicators or notifications about closure until you litteraly exit the street to the Hoover Dam visitor center and are greeted by a bunch of armed guards kicking you out. So we settled for over view pictures of lake mead it was beautiful but not worth the almost 2 hour drive, the lake at Davis dam is nicer and the marina at Catherine landing is also nicer, next to Laughlin.

Fun, quick scenic view but only went because Hoover Dam was closed.That said, its more of a drive by attraction -Parking is very limited (had to circle twice before someone left, others started double parking).If you dont plan on going to Lake Mead, but want a nice gloss over how it looks, by all means take the extra 2 minute detour.

Although the dam itself was closed to the public when we were there, the scenic overlook was open with spectacular Views of Lake Mead

Hoover Dam was closed, so we stopped by here. Parking is limited here but not an issue during our visit. A great place to walk around and enjoy the views.

It was pretty hot: 109F. But a great view of Lake Mead. The Dam was still closed so we ended up here.

View is beautiful!! Stopped at the overlook because we couldn’t go inside to see Hoover Damn...Feds do not allow anyone to carry, they will search your car even if you’re not carrying.

We wanted to visit Hoover Dam but unfortunately was not open to the public.. we stopped here to get a picture and take in the view. Beautiful

The views go on forever. This spot just made us take off our sun glasses and admire the beauty. Beautiful lake just makes you want to rent out a boat and test out the waters of Lake Mead!This location also had many tourist information signs (which point out interesting landmarks).

Droce the rental Lamborghini up to the lookout...took a few personal pictures. Visitors wanted pictures of the Lambo....I told them all be my guest. Seemed like the overlook was overshadowed by the Lambo. Great view of the Lake and Marina.

I ended up visiting while there was enough smoke in the air to slightly burn your lungs, so the view wasnt that great. However, I tried imagining it without smoke and for some reason it just doesnt do it for me. You dont really get a full view of the lake and the giant boat launch/dock looks odd next to the desolate land. I guess Id say its still worth the 10 minute stop, but its nothing special.

Since the Hoover Dam is closed because of everything thats going on, this gives you a great view of the lake. Although you cant see the dam unless you climb down but not recommended, it is nice to pass by on the way to the grand cayon.

360 views all away around, best spot for a picture opportunity. Parking close by and youre always near your vehicle, nice. No restrooms, but theres a casino near by, Railroad Pass Casino.

Very nice scenic lookout with views of the lake and marina. 8 parking spots are available and enough of a shoulder area for an RV or Tour Bus to stay for a short while (there no designated large vehicle spots though so I wouldnt recommend overstaying your welcome).

Lake Mead is just gorgeous! Whether you park down by the lake, spend time at the camp ground or just go to this beautiful Lakeview point. I strongly recommend checking it out ️

It was a nice way to see Lake Mead. Sadly the water level is very low due to LA having a swimming pool and every backyard and a Greener lawn then where the water comes from in the North State of California or the Colorado subsidiaries

Wished Hoover Dam would have been open as well, so we went to Lake Mead, hot that day, very hot!!

I had a great time but I love lovely views. It was the best at the overlook and we were blessed with a good day in December. There is parking and easy to get to from Hoover dam. A must see!

Beautiful place. Temperature was hot but there was such a nice breeze. It was totally worth the drive.

This is not the Lake Meand but a viewpoint to see it. We spent few minutes in the evening at this viewpoint while returning after visiting Hoover Dam. The place has free parking but limited spaces are available so at peak tourist season parking will be difficult. Though it is a good place to spend evening.

Beautiful dam area and the depth of the electrical equipment. So gorgeous and overwhelmingly huge. A must see if you visit NV.

Enjoyable overlook of lake Mead and also easily accessible if youre wanting to stop before, after, or not at the Hoover dam.

It was hot, it was sunny and bright, views are spectacular but parking is very limited, but makes sense when its an overlook and you dont really have to spend too much time there. One overlook before the ride to the hoover dam

Parking lot is very small and tight. The view is great but there is always at least 1-2 tourists who want to watch the world burn by blocking up everything instead of letting others get out of their parking spots to make space!

You get a great view of the entire lake.

Gives a sweeping view of Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam was closed when we visited, due to Covid. This was the next best thing.

Nice place to get out of the car and stretch. Most photos included power lines. Some pretty rocky hills. No amenities that I found.

You get a breathtaking view of Lake Mead from this overlook point. We came in February and it was a little windy up top so bring a light jacket. Also there were swarms of tiny bugs flying around, might just be because of the season. Anyway, you can drive up here and drive back for a quick trip - no difficult walking or hiking required!

Cycling up to the lake Mead lwas a nice experience. I intended to visit the Hoover dam but it was closed. Amazing view of the lake.

Views were extremely amazing, great place for family of all ages. There is no bathrooms, water, or vending machines at location. Just beautiful views and nature..

Hot and windy. Nice view. Limited parking, but people could not stay long with the heat and wind. No facilities.

Absolutely beautiful, You can see it off in the distance before even getting close to it and the water is just as blue then as it is up close. Its a little oasis in the middle of the desert and breath taking

Beautiful spot overlooking lake mead. We enjoy stopping here for a break on our ride to vegas. Has a lot of informational plaques, and trash cans, please use the trash cans as there is some trash from visitors past the ledge.

Hoover Dam was still closed due to COVID19...so we did a quick little detour to stretch our legs & found this view before heading back & changing our course. Looked nice & clean, no trash thrown around.

Place setting is beautiful. There is so much to see from that location. Beautiful back drop of the mountains and the Lake Mead Basin. While there enjoy the beauty of the view of the mountains and the history of that location. Its definitely a Must See place to go.

The view is beautiful, but theres nothing more to do than enjoy the scenery.We were passing through on our way to Las Vegas and, due to pulling a trailer, couldnt get to the Hoover Dam viewing area without dropping the trailer 3 miles up the highway at a hotel. However, we turned off here a little ways back up the road and did see a stunning view of Lake Mead.If youre anyway stopping at Hoover Dam or have a trailer and cant drive down there, add this in. Its easy, beautiful and a quick stop.

We went for Hoover dam, which was inexplicably closed and security staff was extremely rude. This was a nice view, but couldnt take away the disappointment.

Although the Hoover dam was closed the parking area had some great views of the Lake and interesting history to read!

To be honest, the place is so beautiful and worth visiting. You can feel how devastating the colorado river could be if Hoover Dam wasnt constructed.

Historical information is related at this site. It was too windy and no wind breaker was provided. No view of lake due to overcast.

Breathtaking views. Not a lot to do but the views make stopping over time well spent. Be sure to drive up all d way to d dam for a full day of fun.

The overlook gives you a good idea of how low the lake has become over the years. It has a few information boards that explains the importance of the lake and how it was built. If you are going to the Hoover Dam, you have to stop here too.

Worth the walk up from the parking lot. It gives a spectacular view of the dam. Prepare to wait a long time to park, dont rush it. Definitely a great photo-op.

We arrived too late in the day to go to the dam so this was our second option. Though it was very beautiful, there was a lot of work in the way of getting a perfect picture. I would visit this spot again.

As you drive back, after visiting Hoover Dam, you will see a sign for the Lake Mead viewpoint. Once you take the turn the parking area is very close to the main road. The view from this area is wonderful.

Big horn sheep, golden sunset, views for miles, the Hoover dam is engineering and construction that is kind of mind blowing.

Its definitely a beautiful view of Lake Mead, only 2 minutes away from the main road connecting Boulder City to Hoover Dam. Has free parking spots. There are interesting information about the lake and history of Hoover Dam placed on stands.
