Always fun to come here. The architecture alone , its just stunning. A great old building in Boston that is just beautiful. Seats can be a little tight on the leg room, but overall still comfy and cushioned. Ill always recommend this place, I love going here. We saw White Christmas during the holidays, and it was quite the treat. Spectacular show.

I purchased tickets to a performance. I showed up on the day of the performance to find a note in the theatre window that all of the performances were canceled. I called the theatre and was told that they canceled the performance a week ago and had refunded my credit card. That was nice but what would have been nicer would have been to contact me so I didn’t drive over an hour and already pay for parking and have to watch my daughter cry because she was looking forward to seeing swan lake. I checked and rechecked my emails and no, not a peep was sent about Swan Lake but they were more than willing to send me email after email about other shows that were happening. I was not alone as a few other families that were walking up clearly were not informed either. Funny how when purchasing the tickets they had all my contact information, phone number, mailing address, email and yet they couldn’t make sure contact was made To notify me the performance was canceled after spending a lot of money on tickets. The ticket representatives attitude was less than desirable as he made it seem that I should have figured it out when I received a credit on my card. I’m sorry that statement won’t come for another two weeks. Pretty sad..... I would not purchase tickets for any theatre operated by the Boch group as you are only setting yourself up for disappointment.

I don’t know whether a five star review is worthwhile because my visit was simply to pick up tickets from the ticket office in the foyer. However what was immediately apparent was the theater’s age and obvious heritage. They appear to run interior tours suggesting to me how proud they are of the longevity and tradition of this establishment. Perhaps the five stars are not entirely deserved after my brief visit but - it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

Fabulous experience and venue. Show reviewed was The Sound of Music. I only took this down to 4 Stars because at some points the acting was labored and the ensembles harmony intonation was not spot on. Although that warps me out of theater world, the average Jo wouldnt notice it. Climb Every Mountain was a showstopper in my heart, and the reprise. We were on our feet at the curtain call!

Overall the theater is gorgeous and was tastefully decorated for the holiday. All of the employees I interacted with were very pleasant. The acoustics, lighting and sound were all incredibile. I sat in the Orchestra Center row DD and I am a petite person (5 ft. tall). The view of the stage was ok, however Id suggest Mezzanine seats if youre short since I found myself moving back and forth most of the evening to see around the person in front of me. The seats in the area I was in were not well staggered and I was basically in line with the person in front of me. The space between the rows was VERY narrow so I would advise to leave all bulky purses at home and tall people to take note. My knees were basically hitting the chair in front of me all evening (sorry maam!) Additionally it was extremely hot in the theater. Prior to going in we were told by the ushers that it was going to be hot in the theater. I expected it to be warm due to all the people but by the end of the show people were using their playbills to fan themselves so dress accordingly. Knowing what I know now, I would go see another performance at this theater but Id sit in the mezzanine, take a smaller purse and dress more appropriately.

What a wonderful theater. I have been here three times. I saw Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Leonard Cohen put on incredible concerts here. I might just be getting old, but I think they play a dB or two too much here. The lower level is fine, but I think upper tier is a little echoey which can occasionally make higher frequency sounds ear piercing. Finally, I saw a comedy performance by Craig Ferguson here as well. The acoustics were perfect that evening. The Wang Theater makes you feel like youre stepping into the past. The place is so ornate and fancy. I highly recommend this place to all.

Gorgeous Theatre! Came here most recently to see the sound of music and two years ago Swan Lake. Each time I was impressed with the interior of the building and the performances. The gorgeous visual appearance of the theater is more than offset by the physical challenges of the place. The seats are worse than flying coach. I have a 29-inch inseam and my knees were hitting the seat in front of me. Line of sight from the balcony is terrible. Its like being on the floor. If the person in front of you leans forward it blocks the whole front-center of the stage. Id be hard pressed to see another show here.

I was here for a Christina Aguilera concert and I dont even know where to begin. She truly put on a once in a lifetime show! Everything was perfected from the wardrobe, stage pieces, dancers, vocals and the band. She is a great performer with the vocals to back it up.The Venue: All seats are relatively close to the stage and if you are lucking enough to land a 1st row seat you definitely have the chance to interact with the artists on the stage. The interior design of this theater is beautiful. Staff was fair and reasonable when people tried to make their way up closer from the back. I will definitely be back for another show at this venue.

What a shame that when they restored this gem, they failed to install seating that is comfortable for patrons. The rows are crammed in like sardines, and to make matters worse cup holders have been installed in the seat backs. The holders are so large you CANNOT find a comfortable place to put your knees (maybe if you are shorter than 5 feet, might work). The ushers allowed late arrivals to come in while a performer was singing rather than waiting for a break in the action. Very disrespectful to the performer. Lots of loud chatter from ushers did not help. We will not be returning.

The theater is moderate in size. When entering you are checked with guards that check your body for any metal and possibly check your purse. No big deal. Such an amazing clean place with moderate amount of concession stands for your needs whether it being a cold soda to some popcorn. Alcohol too. The bathrooms however are located deep into the theater which is an inconvenience because its not the easiest place to find. Luckily the workers there are friendly and very helpful. Bathroom stalls are few so if the place is packed youll probably be waiting. The actual theater is large and such a big seating area. With beautiful mural ceiling to the actual seat and cup stand in front of your seat (plus), this place is pretty nice to go for a show. The balcony seats are really nice so long as youre a few rows away from the front. I was second row in and the family in front just wouldnt stop moving and keep getting into my view. Youre welcome. Other than that chairs are comfy and exits are large and noticeable. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Its gorgeous, an amazing landmark. Ive seen great shows. The bars are well stocked. But it was built for tiny people in the 19th century. Im 6 foot and broad shouldered, so I barely fit in the seats. Like, my thighs are longer than the distance from the seat to the seat on front of me. So uncomfortable I cant really enjoy the show.

This theater is absolutely stunning. The architecture and decor that was created can be distracting from the show itself. The location is close to many restaurants and hotels/parking garages in the area. Convenient and easy to get to. Security at the door and once inside the crowd disperses based on seating. We sat in the upper balcony left and the ushers were quickly showing folks to their seats. The sound from the stage was perfect. The comedian we came to see often stopped using the microphone and you could hear him clearly from the balcony. Would absolutely come back to this venue for a show. Not a bad seat in the house
