Beautiful theater. I would recommend for the classic feel, and the acoustics carried well. However, I would not recommend sitting in section E. I was certain I got fantastic seats being front row in section E. What they fail to explain is - section E is like a cage filled with bar stools / chairs. Our seat location was great. But, getting in / out involved weaving in and out of 20+ people sucks.

Have been here for several comedy shows and they have had awesome bookings! I like the theater, its on the smaller side of the scale though so be aware that big names sell out quickly.Great location as it is right in downtown and just a few minutes away from the Green, Orange, and Red lines.Ive only sat in the balcony and Im happy to say it has enough of an incline so as to make the show enjoyable no matter where you sit. The seats are comfy, though I need to mention that leg space is rather limited (tall people, I feel your pain here).

The whole night from start to finish was great! The place is clean and well staffed everyone was very nice and willing to help to answers any questions I had weather it was where is my seats or the bathroom, or more importantly where can I get a drink..lol This place serves strong drinks, a little pricey but like I said heavy handed pour! I got a vodka and pineapple ...it was so yummy! Just a tip if u dont mind the quality ask for the drink to be made with the house brand they do not always offer it (suggesting the two pricier name brands) as an option. There was table service so I never had to miss a minute of the show. I saw Tiffany Jenkins, which was amazing!

I came from Pittsburgh to see Black violin when they performed there. I was in the balcony and I have to say I could still see and experience the show perfectly. This venue was perfect for the concert! They offered (expensive) alcohol, and the staff was reasonably helpful. However, a major concern is the seating. These seats are SMALL and stacked close. Presume that youll have no arm room with the person next to you, that is you have to pee youll be doing the scuse me scoots the whole way down the aisle if youre on the inside of the row. My biggest displeasure, however, was the leg room. For anyone over 59 youre going to be quite uncomfortable and will likely nudge the back of whoever is sitting in front of you, OFTEN. But the experience was amazing 5/5.

The acoustics here are marvelous. It is a great venue for this kind of a show. Its a beautiful old-fashioned stage theatre. The only downside is that there is apparently little to no accommodation for persons with any kind of mobility impairment. There are lots of stairs, and the only restrooms are in the basement, so if youre seated in the balcony or mezzanine, thats inconvenient.

First time here, was very grateful that we got to wait inside, away from the cold. The staff was very nice, very helpful. If you are sitting in the balcony, be prepare for a long trip up tons of stairs. The bathroom in the balcony area was so small. Claustrophobic? Doesnt work for you. It was so nice and warm, no drafts. The inside could use some new paint and maintenance. Basically a nice place, would have been a 3, but the staff got them the 4th star.

Mostly a great experience, but beware if you are tall. The seats in the mezzanine (and possibly the entire theater) are too close together. The show I saw was phenomenal, Reggie Watts is a magical creature.I also liked having a cocktail server in my section, that was awesome. The reason for the two stars, and the reason Ill never be back to The Wilbur, is the seats. Basically all of their seating are $5 thrift store no padding tiny chairs with an itty bitty round seat thats about the size of a kids frisbee. If youre 80lbs, Im sure theyre adequate for sitting in for 2.5 hours, but as an adult human with a love of food and a little jiggle round the middle, my butt fell asleep after 5 minutes and then the pain started. You cant shift around though, because youre packed in next to strangers, so I kept giving my neighbor a knee in the kidney unintentionally.Sorry, neighbor.

For nostalgia this place cant be beat, its absolutely gorgeous inside, like taking a step back in time. Seats are super cramped but it adds to the charm. Speaking of seats there is not a bad seat in the place, its a very small theater and no matter where you sit you feel close to the stage. Bathrooms are in the basement, down several stairs so plan accordingly. The staff is exceptionally nice. They do have table service, offering drinks and snacks. Be prepared to pay about $14 for a domestic draft and about $25 for a mixed drink. If youre visiting Boston try to catch a show here.

The Women in Comedy show we saw was awesome. Havent laughed so hard in months. The Wilbur, on the other hand, was a nightmare. Who runs this venue? Have they ever been to a professional theater? Three sets of ushers sent us to the wrong section. Sat for 20 minutes before the show started when another couple comes in and says that were in their seats. At first I thought that Ticketmaster had double-sold our seats (wouldnt surprise me), so the couple left to figure something else out. As the lights were going down, an usher came to demand that my boyfriend and I follow him downstairs. No explanation. I declined because at that point I believed that I was in the right seats, and the show was starting, anyway. Five minutes later another usher came by and waved her flashlight, asked to see my tickets again, and then demanded that I follow her downstairs. She wasnt moving from the row, so we followed her. No explanation, again. She took us through a maze of back-of-house rows and hallways, no clue where I was, and then deposited us in a section a level down in what -- apparently -- were our correct seats. I understand that I sat in the wrong place the first time, but after THREE SETS OF USHERS told us where to go, and then TWICE we were pushed around with ZERO explanation, this has left a terrible taste in my mouth. Its going to take a LOT to get me to go back to this venue. The place is also dirty, bathrooms a mess, seats ratty and old. What a shame for what seemed to have once been a beautiful theater.

Great time enjoying my favorite podcast there. The venue was quaint but accomadating and very old school inside. The door folk and ushers were EXTREMELY polite. The poor rating is coming from the price point. I had already spent 80 dollars on tickets and one drink was 21 dollars. 5 dollars for a 16.oz pland springs. Cmon yall. I went to an event on October 27th. No one was allowed to enter the theater until 5PM, so the vestibule area in the front became really, really crowded quickly. Overcrowded, really. Despite being one of the first groups there and checked in, we ended up in the middle of the mob to enter. Minimal organization. The seats in section B (VIP) were much more crowded than I was expecting - like an airplane. I say this as a petite female. People were practically sitting on top of one another, sideways. The drinks were way overpriced. We lined up to take pictures with the guests afterwards, and security kept yelling at everyone - this seemed really unnecessary. We were behaving and were respectfully waiting. No one was really stepping out of line. The constant yelling for no reason kinda ruined the atmosphere a little bit. For many, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet these guests.Overall, the experience was meh, considering the cost of the tickets. If I ever went to this venue again, I would just get the cheaper balcony seats. The people up there looked much more comfortable.

The show was awesome. The acoustics were just ok. Not what I was expecting. After the show the staff was very pushy. Yelling to leave the venue now. We were trying to meet the artists that played but were basically thrown out. It seemed that we were inconveniencing the staff. Terrible customer service. I recommend that the management or owner of this venue to check both seating charts to eliminate confusion and to put your staff in a customer service training program immediately.
