Storyteller’s Secret is ABSOLUTELY 200% WORTH IT! I wish I could get amnesia, just to go do it again! I’ve done over 20 room escapes ranging within the US and Europe and this HANDS DOWN is the most impressive room I’ve ever done! This room is technically impressive and you get bonus riddles if you’re fast enough. I’ve seen most escape rooms use several locks and safes which gets redundant and boring after a while, but THIS ROOM only had one lock and the rest is pure imaginative genius! The rooms that I’ve down with this level of sophisticated tech almost always run into some technical issues, BUT this place was FLAWLESS! It was so incredibly impressive! I can’t stop talking about it. Everyone should experience this magical room!COVID safety: I’d rate it 10/10, so super safe!! We were brought down and screened for any COVID related illness or if we traveled within the last 2 weeks. They provide hand sanitizer. Besides the game master, we were the only ones in the room and in the lobby. Everyone is required to keep their mask on the whole time. They sanitize the room after every game. I would go back in a heart beat!

Boxaroos escape rooms are excellent! My family and I did The Magicians Study and The Storytellers Secret; The Magicians Study was the first escape room ever for some of us. The attention to detail in creating an immersive experience was great, the puzzles were challenging but fun (especially for first-timers like me). We loved the way that Boxaroo takes a Solve the mystery approach rather than an Escape the room approach, and how the puzzles really encourage collaboration. The Boxaroo staff were friendly and helpful. We cant wait to try other Boxaroo rooms!

Boxaroo was the best escape room experience I have ever had, PERIOD. Every detail of your escape room experience has been thought through. From the moment you walk in the door, to when you exit. It is simply awesome. Each room has been designed meticulously down to the tiniest detail. They incorporate all kinds of beautiful, custom designed props. Each one used for incredible puzzles that will fill you with WONDER.The production value is simply mind-blowing. It is worth every penny to enjoy the incredible rooms they have to offer. Not to mention the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, and: they KNOW what they are doing.Best of all, they love what they do. Their work has heart in it and it shows. Not many places, let alone escape rooms, have that. I cant recommend Boxaroo enough.

Ive been to many escape rooms since I started doing them a couple years ago. My partner and I were in Boston and decided to give this one a try after seeing the reviews online. We were intrigued by storytellers secret and decided to try that one. Its different from others weve done in that youve got 75 minutes instead of 60 and the room wasnt billed as an escape room but more as a journey. Oh and what a journey it was. The room was one of the best designed ones Ive ever seen. The set design, story, props, atmosphere, all of it was top notch. One of my favorite parts though was the incredibly unique way they devised for the game master to converse with us inside the room when we needed a hint, clue or just to advance the story. I wont spoil it but it was very innovative and memorable. The whole experience was fantastic. Once finished they gave us a printout of our room stats for how long it took us to complete tasks compared to others. They even had little pins available for purchase of each of the rooms which I thought was a nice touch. Overall I cant recommend this place enough. We liked it so much that we did the magicians study room just before our return flight home which was also quite good. If youre looking for a great escape room experience in Boston definitely give this place a go.

My wife and I played Storytellers Secret in early March 2020 and had a great time. The puzzles were a lot of fun, and the atmosphere was great. The hint system was totally integrated into the story/setting, and there was even background music to add to the immersion. The production value in this room was probably the best Ive ever played. The entire room was meticulously decorated, and with the integrated hint system, it was easy to get lost in the story and mystery of the room. I had such an awesome time! My friends and I came during our last week of our senior year of college (around mid-March before COVID-19 sent us home) and we still talk about how this was the most detailed escape room we’d been to together! I wish I could remember the attendant’s name but they were so awesome! After we solved the room, they showed us the behind the scenes of how the room worked (Mathematics, technology, theatrics, etc.) and we were so grateful! This was so kind of them and they definitely love their job! The business had hand sanitizer available upon entry and I felt assured that they had cleaned the entire area to keep us safe. I definitely recommend this place for when it’s safe to go out again!

Hands down the best escape room adventure Ive had. Husband and I did the Storyteller as a different idea for date night and it was amazing! The setup is really unique, the puzzles were creative and fun, and at the end they give you all sorts of info about the challenges including how you stack up with each puzzle along the way in terms of speed and whether or not the room decided to make a task more or less challenging based on your performance (its got some AI behind it). Ive done escape rooms all over the US and this was incredible! Also during the pandemic they sent us a free virtual escape puzzle out of the blue which was a really sweet gesture in addition to being a fun distraction.

While the experience was very fun and filled with updated technologies, there were many glitches during our escape room and accidental triggers that were not meant to happen. Between accidentally unlocking parts of the game early and certain obtacles getting stuck, the staff had to come into our room 3 times throughout our experience and it really killed the vibe of our journey. Storyteller’s Secret is AMAZING! I’ve done approximately 14 rooms with (I think) 6 different companies in the Boston area and this is BY FAR the most impressive room. The tech is seamless and so much more advanced than anything I’ve seen anywhere else. The story flow so naturally and is so perfectly immersive. The difficulty is spot on. Every aspect of the puzzle is hidden so intuitively inside thematic elements of the room. I cannot commend Boxaroo enough for creating what is, in my opinion, a perfect escape room experience, if you can even call it an escape room. I love a room where escaping is not the ultimate goal, as is the case here. Beautiful in design and execution and absolutely flawless.

We have done quite a few escape rooms over the past few years and my family and I agreed that this escape room is hands down the best we have ever experienced. We completed 2 of the rooms, Storytellers Secret and Museum Conundrum. While vastly different, both rooms were carefully and thoughtfully planned and made sense in every way. We have done escape rooms where there was ambiguity within the clues. Unlike those rooms, the puzzles in Boxaroo and how we got to the puzzles was incredibly clear. Every puzzle was intentional and the flow of the room was wonderful. We especially loved how everything connected in the end. As much as we love this company, we are sad to not have something quite like it near us. Its going to take a lot to remove this one from the top favorite spot in our growing list of escape rooms. Thank you so much to the staff, who was incredible, and for allowing us to chat personally with you after our experience. My partner and I love escape rooms, and have enjoyed a couple dozen in several major cities. We’ve really loved some, and were really meh on a couple. We recently went on a double date and did our first Boxaroo room; it was a secret room they weren’t advertising on their website called Storyteller’s Secret. It was hands down one of the best escape rooms we’ve done. We and our two friends had a fantastic time. Their puzzles were satisfying and cleverly designed, the room was pretty and soothing, and the overall experience was excellent. The staff were super nice and talked to us at length after we were done (we were the last booking of the evening). The management seems like genuinely nice people who love what they do.The thing that makes them stand out most is that they’re really committed to wholesome, enjoyable, and generally lighthearted rooms. My partner and I can be really type A, and love challenging rooms with time pressure, or scary rooms that get our hearts racing. That is NOT what Boxaroo is going for. The Storytellers Secret - The room was beautifully designed and the puzzle mechanisms are really intricate. I like the way the hints are given too; it ties in well with the theme of the room. At the end of the game, a field report was given to each player. Excellent escape room adventuring! Looking at the group photos on their FB feed, it looks like everyone “wins” and maybe you like being able to earn that win, but with Boxaroo, you don’t care. it’s all about the experience and ours here was by far the best we’ve had yet. It was a truly immersive experience - as if you were playing one of those adventure computer games, but were actually in it. Everything about it was superior to any other escape room we have tried: from the excellent and artistic set, props and puzzles to the music and sound effects. Heck, the room even smelled great! The puzzles were challenging and what I loved about them was that they weren’t the typical combination lock puzzle - you really had to figure things out as if you were in the adventure yourself. The puzzles were also not just one-and-done - there were multiple layers. Fantastic in every way. I can’t use enough superlatives here. Give this escape room a try - you won’t regret it!

All three were fun, but far and away the best of the lot was my experience at Boxaroo.First off the attention to detail was incredible. While other rooms had plenty of interest immediately around the active control or clue surfaces of the puzzles, at Boxaroo every inch of the room was gorgeously appointed. The decorations were beautiful, the painting was immaculate and detailed, and the puzzles themselves exhibited a degree of polish Id not seen elsewhere. And then there was the story! We visited the Storytellers Secret, and without spoiling anything it was incredibly immersive and unfolded much more like a cohesive interactive storytelling experience rather than a bunch of largely unrelated puzzles loosely pertaining to the theme.I will definitely be back to Boxaroo, and would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun, memorable and challenging escape room experience!Kudos to all involved.

Reserved the whole room for my family to play together. Everyone from 11-70 years old had a great time. Highly recommend!!

Amazing room... No obscure puzzles but still challenging. Great tech, good atmosphere, fun staff too. Definitely recommended.

Having done over 100 rooms around the country, I can say this definitely a fantastic operation from top to bottom that I can wholeheartedly recommend to enthusiasts and newcomers alike. With our group of four, we played The Magicians Study and The Storytellers Secret. Both rooms have a strong emphasis on narrative and theatricality, providing several WOW moments along the way. All the puzzles tied into the theme and narrative. The scenic was nearly impeccable and was overall very immersive. I appreciated that the entire experience was focused around a sense of fun and whimsy, which is a nice change from the deluge of serial killer dungeons, zombie apocalypse and prison themes offered elsewhere.Magicians Study would be a great room for first timers or those relatively new to the world of escape rooms. While Storyteller provides something new for the more experienced (plus it is a default private booking, yay!)Every staff member we interacted with was just wonderful and very accommodating. We seriously cant say enough great about this establishment and are already looking forward to returning for Conundrum Museum (and eagerly anticipating what they will come with for future rooms).Since Magician and Conundrum are public bookings, highly recommend playing on an offbeat time (early, during the week) to get a better chance at having the room to yourselves.

A friend and I took our husbands out for a surprise outing. We were joined by 4 more “detectives” and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! We will do it again! Well run event!
