Went and rode my mountain bike here yesterday. It was fun. Im a beginner to mountain bike courses but this place had trails of varying difficulty which were clearly marked and made the ride so much fun. Id highly recommend this place for hiking or biking.

Really cool hidden park, great for hiking and biking. Tons and tons of trails, very good for walking dogs. I’d highly recommend Wapehani Mountain Bike Park! Make sure to keep that head on a swivel for bikes passing by if you’re walking.

A great place to hike and bird watch without having to leave town. The trails are very winding so you feel like youre in a much bigger park. Theyre generally well maintained, but they can be muddy and some paths are prone to flooding. Only downside is there are a lot of invasive plants in parts of the park, but that probably doesnt mean anything to most people.

Beautiful local resource. We took our little dog on a very cold day on the moderate trails for a walk. Really enjoyed checking this park out. I hope that the community takes care of this beautiful forest for a long time, it is very healthy with many ferns and mosses. ♡

Really broke my heart that they drained lake Wappahani. It was a beautiful lake that was good fishing, but the city didnt want to invest in saving it. They would rather invest in things we absolutely dont need.

Went there late March 2019. Just OK place if you are there for hiking.

There is still some construction around the parking lot and entrance. There also isnt a posting about a timeline for completion.

Re

It is not its natural scenery because they took out the pond.

Di

Recent contstruction has greatmy reduced the biodiversity and the draining of the lake takes away the beauty the park had.

A nice little spot of trees. Glad its close to me. Most trails are built for mountian bikes, of course, with lots of hills and loops, so not ideal for a leisurely walk with the dog. I-69 runs up against one side of it.

Not what it used to be! Parks and rec is slacking but won’t allow anybody to work on trails. No clearly defining trails. Just needs a lot of work.

Its nice to have a place to mtb in town. There is an unfortunate lack of jumps and features for a mountain bike park (theres one actual jump, a ramp with a drop, and probably 5 on-off ramps in the park). Still a nice place to spend an hour, or to bring friends who are beginner-ish level. Its definitely not a place youd go to practice for downhilling or technical runs.

Beautiful mountain bike park with numerous trails that can also be walked / hiked. Trails range from very easy to rather difficult. Theres also a nice lake with a walk out viewing dock. Dogs are allowed on some trails as well.

It feels like a jungle in there (in a good way). Feels very secluded. Decent amount of beginner mountain biking trails, especially for the close location in town (Im only a beginner, so cant comment on anything more difficult).

Smells like pee but actually has lots of nice wild flowers and pawpaw trees. People eat the snaping turtles there as evidance by the carcus of one.

This is my fourth year at Wapehani. For 45 minute rides, I could not ask for much better. Trails are twisty. Soil is premium Indiana clay with sections of small hills and some roots and rocks. Its a decent work out that is really fun in several sections. The woods are peaceful for a city park. Good work Bloomington Parks and Rec.!

This park could be cool, but the trails are braided beyond use, as if designed by 12-year-olds on BMX bikes--its almost impossible to navigate here.

The park is currently closed to remove the dam. The lake will be converted to a wetland and planted with native flora. The park should reopen in late 2018.
