Nice disc golf course but youll want the UDisk app to navigate otherwise its kind of hard to find the t-pads. They have a short course mixed in that weaves through the long course. This is also on the ski hill and is windy so it plays way longer than advertised. Baskets can be on super steep hills so be forewarned. Can also be busy with pedestrians walking and hiking through the course.

Disappointed that the park is closed for the winter season. Theres still plenty of great weather left. That being said, the playground itself is pretty fantastic! Ill be sure to update my rating if hours change or are more accessible to more people.

A+++ If you get a chance, visit this beautiful park! This one is by far one of our top park picks. Plenty of walking trails, places to have a picnic (restaurants close by) and the best part is the potential pictures. It is also very kid and dog friendly, which is great for our dog Lucy Loo Loo. They also have a variety of activities that are geared towards families. If you are looking for a serious hiking trail, this park has that covered too. Restrooms are on-site. Just be watch for turtles crossing the road and some paths. ;-)

Hyland Lake area is an amazing nature area to get out of the city with the kids. Something for everyone, from the playground for kids, nature center, hiking, water sports, walking trails, ski jumping in winter, etc. Our family favorite is the Hylamd Lake Park playground. The older kids love the large jungle gym type climbing areas, and tire swings, and the numerous twirly slides to fly down, younger girls can play on the two smaller play areas for their ages. Their are indoor restrooms and concessions as well. Great place to spend the day relaxing while the kids play.

Hands down one of my favorite places to bring kids of all ages!!During certain times of the year, they even have a mini splash pad going - soft ground, so many slides I couldnt even count them all, and play structures fit for toddlers through adult sizes (great when you gotta help a kid down from the top).I took a panorama to try to capture it all, but honestly theres still more to explore: like a set of tire swings up the steps area (behind the toddler area), and a jungle gym climbing structure to the far right. It can get pretty busy if daycares are visiting (but thats a risk with any great park!). Overall, definitely worth traveling from our neck of the woods ;)**PROS: great for ages toddler and up. Lots of variety and different skill levels/interests. Comfortable benches and tables and umbrellas, including areas close to the toddler area.**CONS: closed seasonally (check their website for up to date info). Not integrative (though you can take the light incline up to the playground, vs the steps, theres steps, stairs, etc. that would bar certain special needs children from enjoying the park). Though theres a fence around most of it, the sheer size and amount of things do mean that if you have a runner, youll be biting your nails at this place!MOMS Club of Shakopee and Prior Lake, President Katharina

Unbelievable venue. If I could rate 6 stars, I would. My wife and I had our wedding reception here and it couldnt have been more spectacular. This place is the perfect size for around 250 guests. Hyland Lake Playground has to be one of the biggest and best in the Twin Cities metro area - at least, I haven’t found anything to top it. Locals call it “Chutes and Ladders park” and that’s not far from the truth. There is a massive interconnected, multi-level jungle gym that can support children and adults. They have a smaller play set for little kids, and several other attractions.Seating is at a premium on busy days and if you want a shady spot, better get here early. Hyland Lake also sports a rare outdoor “gym” that has body weight exercise machines. There is of course a boat landing, covered pavilions, and lots of trails too.Hyland Lake is a must see destination if you’ve got young kids.

Went for my first wedding this past weekend. Had not been at Hyland Hills in 20 years. What a totally beautiful surprise. Even with a rain storm pushing the wedding indoors, the view to the hill from the 30 foot windows was idyllic. The bathrooms and changing rooms were clean, orderly and spacious. The ski chalet did not feel cold and impersonal, but instead warm and inviting. With nearly 200 guests, the space worked really well. Worth consideration for the next big event.
