The energy and such positive vibes that emanates from this location is remarkable. Wonderful and amazing and just what I needed to experience at this point in our history. So many young people out Smiles on their faces talkin saying hello kind words laughter. it just feels good

We took a scenic trip to Bloomington this fall. We went to Oliver Winery and then decided to take a trip to IU campus to walk around. This was such a lovely area. Spur of the moment we hopped on two scooters we saw that you could download an app for and we rented them. We cruised around the beautiful campus. The fall foliage was out of this world as if they had thought out each tree and the placement of it and planted them all for this purpose. Maybe they did!? We took photos of the sample gates and walked and rode on the tree lined paths. The trees were a beautiful canopy of yellow, orange, and red. We also took photos of the Rose well and the lover trees. What a wonderful day trip to Bloomington.

This historic gateway to the campus of Indiana University may well be one of the most photographed sites in town. Just beyond the threshold are 9 acres of woodlands in the heart of the main & original part of campus built in 1820. Brick pathways branch off in different directions and it matters not if its winter, spring, summer or fall this is an EXCELLENT place to see natures beauty in Southern Indiana.

An icon of Indiana University and Bloomington, Sample Gates are definitely a must-see when visiting IU. As the main entrance to the university, Sample Gates are an incredible photo opportunity. The foliage is always kept in excellent condition and always looks perfect. Overlooking Kirkwood Avenue in beautiful downtown Bloomington, the Sample Gates are the perfect connection that tie the university and the city together.

Every time I pass through the Sample Gates, it reminds me of my amazing 4.5 years at Indiana University, and the beauty and the history of the amazing campus. It was impressively beautiful on this day because of the gorgeous flowers on the display and the beautiful fall-time weather we were having......

Indiana University/Bloomington is so beautiful. Such a cool campus. My daughter is going to school there and she loves her classes and all of the services they provide. I would recommend them to any student and their parents.

IU has a beautiful campus. It is worth a visit. Bloomington is a very cool place to stay and visit. Theres plenty to see and do there and around the town.

A perfect place to take in IU and its surrounding buildings, restaurants and nature. Its picturesque and is popular with students, families, locals, tourists etc to take pictures next to the Gates. Finally, its a beautiful place to view Kirkwood street.

Enter the Sample Gates and walk the paths through campus. It is one of the most gorgeous campuses. The architecture and paths through campus are beautiful. I love the fall colors! I just visited for Homecoming and 40th Frat Line Anniversary. My how things have grown and changed. Yo, B-Yown!

Awesome place to take graduation pictures at! If you get your cap and gown early go then (or think of doing it without). Right by the bus stop and has plenty of restaurants near it.

Aesthetically pleasing, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Kirkwood, and absolutely breathtaking in autumn, the Sample Gates have come to represent the opportunities and possibilities that await at IU.

Beautiful campus, do yourself a favor and take a nice long walk through it.

Sample Gates is an iconic view of both the beginning to Indiana Universitys campus, and downtown Kirkwood Ave, which is the main strip of downtown Bloomington, Indiana. This area is most generally kept very clean and flowered with red/white tulips that make this area a must-see while visiting. If youre able to visit later in the evening, the sunset will set down Kirkwood Ave that will make for the best pictures with both the Sample Gates and Downtown bloomington!

I guess living in b-town my entire life gives me a slanted view of this. It is nice but not anything worth a special trip. The only thing it is really good for is photos. The photos definately say you are at IU Bloomington.

Bloomington native here. The Sample Gates are certainly iconic, however I wouldnt recommend someone make the journey just to see them. They are worth seeing if you are finishing up a tour on Campus and are heading downtown for food or drinks. Great photo opportunity.

Very cool landmark at IU, perhaps the most recognizable piece of architecture on campus. Theyre right next to the IU Media School and across from Kirkwood Ave. Entering campus through these gates welcomes you with a beautiful area with great vibes.

The Sample Gates is the iconic entrance to the Indiana University Bloomington Campus, and the favorite meeting place for many, well loved for the beautiful view along the Kirkwood Avenue - the busy main artery of the town.

Such a wonderful place for photo op. Even for a nice walk its so good. Grab a cup of coffee and have a walk, you will go back with a peaceful mind and nice memory. Best place in campus I believe.
