This was our first visit here since we don’t live in Bloomington. My whole family got food and drinks. Our service and food were great! We spent about $50 for 3 dinners and some drinks with a tip. It’s kind of expensive but to me it is no different than dropping the typical $30 - $40 for popcorn and sodas at our theatre back home. You just expect to pay more at a theatre. At least with this you get dinner and it is served to you. The chairs lean back a bit. There is so much leg room and space. Sooo comfortable! You also have a service button and your own little light button. The sounds and picture quality are fitting with any other cinema. Great quality. If you’ve never been.... I highly recommend giving it a try! You’ll love it!

We attended for a special live performance event from the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia being broadcast to US theaters. It was a big disappointment that this theater didnt even pretend to take it as seriously as they might a movie. They had it projected at maybe 1/2 the size of the actual screen, and it took three separate asks to get the volume loud enough to fill the theater (two asks from me and the third from a different audience member, at which point a theater employee came into the room and yelled is that loud enough yet? Yikes!) But the theatre still gets 2 stars for being an extremely nice facility - very luxurious and clean. I assume an actual movie experience would be good, but our show was a huge disappointment.

It was a great ,I was all alone no wait in line . I think it was close due to the covid 19.20 ,21

This is a nice theatre. Just being able to have a drink with the movie puts it above AMC. The concession is a little pricey but worth it for the convenience of not having to leave your seat. Speaking of seats they are very comfortable and spacious. I did find myself wishing they had reclining seats with footrests but other than that I loved watching Rob Zombies Three From Hell here.

It’s a nice theater, but when purchasing my tickets online no where did it say that the movie I selected wouldn’t have the dining service option. This was the only reason I chose to come to this theater at this specific time. Disappointing!

After a long hiatus from visiting Ovation, came out to see 1917. Chloe, manager & bartender, was a delight. She was attentive to all of her guests and kept up with the servers as well. Thank you for making our experience a great one.

Nice theater, seats are not as comfortable as Marcus, but still good. The food is a good option if you have a babysitter and want to eat while you are out but not waste time. The waiters service is good.

Ovation Theater is a great place to enjoy a movie with a date or your family. The facilities are clean and like new. The meal selections are varied. Food is cooked to taste like expected. Portions are huge. The cost is premium, too.

Thinking it would be nice to have dinner and a movie at one place. But was very disappointed 1st in the uncleanliness. Trays were dirty. Drink holders had junk in them. 2nd, we were the second group there and pushed the button to order and waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order. Movie had already started. After ordering waited another 45 minutes for food that was cold, not good and grossly overpriced. Needless to say we will not be back. Great concept but poorly managed.

On the 22nd of February went to see the 1815 show of Harley Quinn an was very disappointing to find out that the theater that we were in was not full service and that we could not order dinner. There was no prior notification of this and considering that this place advertise itself to be a dinner and a movie theater. After being informed of this after we brought our tickets and went to try to order food to find out it would take too long for the food to come out prior to the starting time of the movie. Needless to say we were very disappointed and definitely will not be back due to the lack of notice and the lack of service that was advertised. If you going to be a movie and a dinner theater then the entire theater should be and not only when it is convenient for you.

I used to love coming out here. We could sit down and watch all the horrible reviews and everything would be brought to our seat, quickly and the food is good. Now I come and for the same price of ticket am put into an express theater where I have to order my food and when it’s ready come get it. Was told if we wanted anything not on the limited menu to order it from the bar and we would be given a token that would flash when it was ready. That is wrong and here I am 25 minutes after the movie started still waiting on my food. The whole point of coming all the way out here is to have the service to your seat and now that they don’t have that, what is the point. Last time I will waste my time and money here.

Be aware not all theaters have full service. Some you have to get your own food at a counter. Not a huge deal but fyi.

Why are they now serving food in all theaters but one? Guess we picked the wrong movie because we couldn’t order any food. And why are you allowing people to purchase the companion handicapped seats when they are not with a wheelchair bound companion? There are only 2 spots available for wheelchairs. As the mother of a wheelchair bound daughter, I was highly offended when I saw this happening in your theater. And to that young couple who reserved those seats online on Christmas Day. Your behavior is disgusting. My husband helped build this theater years ago. And I have always been loyal to it. But that’s about to change.

I orded tickets with fandango and arrived early. Once I picked up me tickets I was told the theater my movie was showing in did not have food service. That is the entire reason we selected this overpriced theater. We politely asked for a refund 10 minutes prior to the films start time. I was told I would have to go through fandango. Called and was on hold until after the start time and then was informed I could not get a refund because the film had already begun. What a scam! They could have at least given me credit since they knew I was not seeing the film. Poor customer service.

Really skeptical about this place, visiting for the first time. Surely there would be lot of confusion, with wait staff trying to serve customers while the movie was playing. But they did it! Orders were handled efficiently and didnt disrupt the movie. The food was really good - hot and tasty.

8 dollars a ticket. Not bad considering all the amenities. Restaurant, bar(yes you can drink in the theater), lighted seats, trays attached to the seats for food and a cup holder in the center.

Currently at the theatre and the movie was supposed to start at 9:15 and the previews haven’t even began. There’s a Chevrolet ad with an “Enjoy the show” message .. and at least 3 entire songs have played. The movie hasn’t started nor the previews. Very weird experience. And it is also pretty dirty here.

There needs to be a better explanation of the “Ovation Express” when buying tickets(especially on Fandango). 3 friends and I ,who have been to the theater numerous times for the full service experience, were greatly disappointed to find out that in order to get a popcorn and soda, we had to pay the same price as the unlimited bowl in the full service side. However, instead of enjoying the movie we had to get up to get our own snacks and drinks. Why the change? And why the lack of explanation to patrons?

The fact that this theater offered to serve food/drinks while watching the movie was our main reason for attending over Wehrenberg. Given they have decided to stop that service in certain theaters and those movies all together, I dont see the point in not having the extra comfort in seating and bigger screen sizes. :(

Freezing cold in theater food wasnt got and it was nasty. It actually made me run to the restroom to throw up. My drink wasnt what I asked for and it wasnt even properly made. So I wasnt pleased at all with this place, I will not be going back.

A very nice movie theater. The seats are very comfortable and it is nice you get to reserve your seats. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a little pricey for their food and movie but overall a great experience.

First time at this theater, and I was disappointed. When we came into the building, we were greeted by a very cheerful waitress, which was nice. We went into theater 6, and immediately were thrown off by a foul smell, similar to the smell of stale diapers. We ordered the bottomless popcorn, and not only was it cold, they also did not come back to refill it. The seats were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and welcoming.

The seats are decent enough but not super comfortable. The food/concessions are expensive, but are of a decent quality. The quality of their screens and sound are both excellent.What makes this place worth 5 stars is the servers. Not having to wait in lines, having concessions brought to you is the absolute best. Just push the call button on your seat and you are set!

My niece and I went to a 9 p.m. movie Dark Phoenix, and the service we got from Stephanie Davies was exceptional, she definitely likes to make feel people welcome and well taken care of. I work in the restaurant industry so I do appreciate, and also can tell when a server goes far and beyond. Thank you Stephanie!!!

Excellent theater with a good food and drink selection. Only complaint was the lack of reclining seats.

All in all I enjoy it. The service could be quicker at times. The smell has gotten a bit musty! Almost reminds me of being inside at the zoo.

A good friend used to work here. But other than that its the best theater Ive ever been to, if they wanted to make it better, it would be nice if it was a IMAX theater, but thats just me rambling on. Its a good theater and I absolutely recommend it.

Such a great time! The seating and theater were immaculate. The service was excellent and the food was really good.

This is my go-to theater in town for its location and amenities. For the first couple weeks a movie is playing the theaters are full service so you can order your food from your seat. After that, they go to an express situation where you get your snacks from a window or order from the menu at the bar. I find this split cumbersome. I can only get certain things at each place so I end up having to order twice and ordering from the bar is not convenient. Therefore, if it isnt a new movie, I just skip the food. Thats the reason for one star off but otherwise a decent theater.

Would have given 5 stars my wife and I have always loved the place ever since it opened. Every movie theatre in town started switching the way they do things and making upgrades to compete. Love the expansive menu and the service. But now they have went away from their business model and made Ovation Express of which makes it just like every other theatre in town where you have to get your own food instead of being served

Theater is nice and clean. It is a bit annoying that they come to give you the check at the pivotal moment of the movie but other than that, its a great place to see a show.

First things first lets get to the food! I ordered the cod tacos with fries and a side of french toast sticks? I was thinking Burger King and got french toast sliced up instead? LoL anyways the food was pretty good, the tacos were amazing! The price point was a bit high but that was to be expected with this being a cafe theatre. The theater itself was spacious and clean, although it never hurts to have a few wipes handy. If you want to have the food brought to you you have to select that service when you get your ticket(I used fandango). Some cafe theatres have this available with every showing with the exception of that last showing of whatever movie but not this theatre. If you forget to make the selection you can still get food you just have to pick it up at their express window. They are located out by the airport and if your not familiar with the area google maps will get you squared away! My only gripe or pet peeve was that even though I ordered/bought my ticket online I had to go to the customer service desk to retrieve before I could enter the theatre?? Maybe Im being pretty but isnt the whole idea of buying your ticket online is so you can print it off and then head right inside BYPASSING the line?

Favorite theater. You get dinner and a movie all in one so you dont have to worry about being late for you movie because dinner ran late.wait staff is always quick and friendly. I buy my family gift certificates to here all the time its out of the way for me by 45 min6but is well worth the drive. Love love love it

Forgot the young girls name who was our server, but she was absolutely so wonderful, sweet and genuine. An awesome employee that tht company is lucky to have. Went to see an evening show on a Wednesday. Wasnt busy at all, great food and the already mentioned amazing server.... Only thing that would have made a better are power reclining seats which is what Im used to where Im from. The theater we were in did not have them, but still enjoyable. I was on a visit from Chicago and would definitely come back.

Nothing special, other than nice tables at each of the seats in the theaters. The seats do not recline though which is a huge bummer. Friendly staff bumped up my rating one star as everyone was super nice.

Went to see End Game at 4:30pm on 4/30/19 in theater 5. The picture was dark and seemed to have a slight flicker the entire movie. Im thinking the projector bulb was about ready to go out. Food was good. Chips were not stale.

The lady at the front was very rude and wasn’t welcoming at all. she made my movie time experience so much worse and ruined my whole day. she also was against fun and didn’t know how to be nice. she also laughed at me when i told her my seat selection. she was quite judgmental. also this place is very expensive.

Wonderful people. Full menu if you want it and throwback movies and kids summer movies. Excellent theater.

The best reason for going to this theater was because they had a full menu and would serve you. They advertise this on their site. They have now changed it to a very limited menu and they wont serve you except in 2 theaters and you wont know which theaters those are until you get there. They didnt tell us this until after we purchased the tickets. Missed part of my movie standing at the bar waiting for my food. One very small concession window now if you arent lucky enough to get a full service theater. Loved this place til now. This was the exclusive place I went to see movies. I heard wherenberg has reclining seats and I might as well go there If I have to go back to getting my own food and drink, especially when they are over priced here anyway. I was willing to pay it for full service but not for this average experience. Tell corporate they lost customers due to the policy change.

Purchased tickets so I could be served while I watched the movie, I was then informed after purchasing the tickets that they now have select theatres that do not serve food (which happened to be my movie), we have to get it ourselves. Needless to say I wasn’t very happy about that, the whole attraction for this movie theatre is being served while you watch the movie. This change is ridiculous.

They no longer offer wait service. Pretty much sucks to pay more for less than other theaters. Subpar food, skimping on meat in the wraps. There was a black hole in the dead middle of the screen for our entire movie today. Definitely not worth your time.

Went to a movie today in a full service theatre, there might have been 16 people in the entire room. We sit down and immediately look at menus. No one comes by, though others are getting served. After 10 minutes we press the service light. The previews start and there is sound but no picture. A server comes over to tell us the manager knows and theyre working on it. So we go to give him our order and hes already walked away and halfway back out of the theatre. I then just went down and got in the express line for the concession stand. What a compete joke. I have never seen such inefficiency. So I waited in line there probably 10 minutes, there were four orders ahead of me. All that to get two sodas and a large popcorn (that wasnt even remotely warm) for around $18. My comes down to join me thinking I had got lost. I didnt even want popcorn but I knew ordering anything else would take even longer. We finally get back into the theatre and the technical issues continue. Lights are on, the movie sound is playing with no picture, then there was a picture with the lights on, then they restarted all of it, it was a mess. I get technical issues, it happens, but no one explained what was going on, apologized or anything. I went to the front box office and told them I wanted a refund and they would refund my tickets but not the popcorn and soda. At that point we just wanted to leave. We ended up staying, but it certainly wasnt enjoyable. I for one will go to ANY OTHER theatre in town before returning to this one. A 1 star rating is too generous on this one.

Comfortable seats, plenty of parking. Its a newer theatre so its still in good shape and clean. Food service is a little slow and I wish they had a counter you could walk up and get quick things like drinks and popcorn and candy

Every time my husband and I go we have an amazing time. We enjoy the food (flat bread pizza) and the atmosphere. I live in Decatur but the ride is worth it.

We went to a oclock show and this was our first time there. We arrived a little late took our seats and got our orders taken and served very fast. Id imagine if its busier service might be slower. But if your looking for a quiet place to watch a movie with your sweetie this is it!!!

The premises are lovely, and the theater equipment is excellent, always providing quality picture and sound with no malfunctions. However, the food is overpriced more often than not, and while it is presented nicely, sometimes isnt even worth two thirds the price paid. The service is also kind of spotty, with wait times varying wildly, albeit the waiters are always polite.

When we choose to see a movie in Bloomington/Normal normally we would go to Ovation because of what they use to offer. By having to order our food/drinks either before the movie or during kind of takes away from the experience ovation was known for. Chairs are falling apart, popcorn isnt the same. Next time we think about seeing a movie, we probably wont be coming to ovation. Such a loss...

Just changed the policy for some of their screens where you dont get access to the full menu. On top of that you have to order at a window, and go get the food yourself. Nowhere when we ordered tickets did we see this. Really disappointed with this change, as getting food delivered to your seat was the only real reason to go to this theater as opposed to some of the other theaters with better screens. Probably wont be coming back, and we were frequent customers.

You would think for the price of food and admission you would have waiters serve you (like they used to) and have food that is edible.

This was our first time visiting Ovation Cinema. The seats were very comfortable, the food was great and the prices were reasonable. We loved the fact that they offered different menu options and drinks. Although, at the end of the movie, the theater had a power outage, due to the weather. We were given two tickets to come back at anytime. We will definitely drive back to Bloomington to see another movie.

Great theater. Big comfy seats. Seat side service. A little pricey on the food but its good. My only complaint would be the volume. When we took the kids to see Little Foot there were several parts of the movie that were extremely loud. To the point it hurt my ears and the kids put their hands over their ears. Tone it down just a hair.

They no longer do in-theater food service in several theaters but somehow expect you to know the difference, due to a tiny font on the online ticket purchase. How on earth do you expect customers to notice and understand this when it’s not how things have been in the past and is a direct opposition to the type of theater you are? This seems like a fantastic way to go out of business. Also, the Express window concession is not “express” at all. They give you a food pager. You can tell the employees know how messed up it is.

Food is overpriced. No one explains how it works. It smelled like a monkey house at the zoo. We werent sure if they deliberately did that since we were seeing the Lion King. It was way too cold in the theater and the seats, arm rests, and tray tables werent cleaned. This was my first time being there. I was not impressed!

This place has a fantastic concept however, the food was terrible very very over priced. I would have no problem paying the price they charge if the quality of the food was much better. The seats need updated and 2 of the call buttons did not work. Again I love the idea but needs some reworking.

So I feel if you going to change your policy on serving food in the theaters maybe you could let the customer know when we buy the tickets instead of me missing the beginning of the movie because I had to order my family food and the manager on duty did not really care about it at all. this will probably be the last time I come here becuase of this. If your going to act like a regular movie theater thats fine but at least let your customers know.

Been here several times. The wait staff is good. The building looks good from first impressions. The smell of stale damp air is a turn off. The last two times were disappointing as far as cleanliness in the theater itself. Floors not clean. The cupholder had food still in it. As far as screen quality its ok. The operators do not have clear training on brightness and clarity. The screen has been dim and out of focus the last 3 times we patronized the facility. I hope they get it fixed but not sure I will take the chance. Great location very convenient. Food is good. Service is good. Video quality so so , cleanliness so so.

Went to Ovaition to watch IT 2. Staff was difficult to find. I was served the wrong drink twice. Expensive for mediocre food and service. The theater was clean and comfortable.

Nice unique movie watching experience. Order food and eat. Oversized chairs that are comfortable as well. They do their best not to interrupt the movie, but it is going to happen a little. Prices are a little high, but not outrageous. Food is ok, but not gourmet or anything. They do have traditional movie snacks as well.

Growing up this was a different theater but with Ovation taking over the past few years I find myself going out of the way to visit and dine at this movie theater!You have your own designated seat, personal service at a push of a button, and personal dim lights for eating.Service is usually prompt and the viewing is always on time. The prices are not terrible but depending on what you get the prices vary. Great food every time I go though!

Theater use to be great because of the full service menu. Last time I was there I got a movie in one of their express theaters expecting a full service theater. Got seated expecting menus and a waiter to come take my order, instead had to go to the Express counter to place my order with a very limited menu. And believe me there was nothing express about the Express window. I finished my order and I received my electronic buzzer to let me know my order was ready. I had to wait for other people to finish placing their order to pick up my food because there is no pick up window. There is one window with 2 registers to place orders and then pick up your order. If they are going back to that method of service they need more than one Express window.

I greatly enjoy the concept of dinner and a show. A full menu to choose from, ranging from burgers to pasta dishes. The servings are not skimpy either. Nice big chairs with a swivel tray for you to set your food or drink on. However, one of my main contentions is I have never been offered a refill on the coffee. I understand they are looking to balance service without disrupting the movie, but if I ordered coffee chances are I want more than one cup. Service needs some work at this place. Party of 3 and one of us received food 10 min before the other two. The popcorn bowl is awesome.

First time at a theater that served you food at your seat. I’m not a fan. I found it very disruptive to the movie. They wanted a card before the order and then expected you to sign the ticket in the dark. I go to movies to get away from distractions not to eat.

Usually a great experience with good, but pricey food. Not 5 stars because sometimes service can be slow. And they removed the coke freestyle machines.

I like the theater, but they really need to bring back the food and drink service to each theater room. No one wants to get up in the middle of the movie to go order a drink or food.

Interesting and convenient way to view a movie with table service. The cod tacos were delicious. The pizza had a good flavor but a soggy crust. There are many options on the menu for meals, appetizers and desserts as well as regular movie food-all at typical movie theater prices. One annoying feature are the tiny white lights that make menu viewing easier. While they may be helpful, the people sitting next to us refused to turn them off when they were not using them and even turned on the lights on the unoccupied seats near them. It might be nice if there was a courtesy sign about turning off the lights or maybe they can be made red instead of white so one can still see the menu without distracting other patrons. The lights on for the entire movie were a definite distraction. Otherwise we had an overall fine experience.

This place has really gone down hill. The last 3 times we have been there there has been a problem with the projector/ lights either the picture was too small for the screen, or the movie started playing and the lights stayed on, or both. Each time we had to go get someone and let them know there was a problem. This time, the movie started playing and the screen was all white. Its a movie theater, displaying the movie is literally the most basic thing they can do and they keep screwing that up. Also the food quality has gone way downhill and despite them cutting down the number of full service theaters, things still arrive cold. I was a huge fan of this place for a long time and am deeply disappointed in how far it has fallen. Its consistently bad now. I dont think i will be going back.

Movie started over 20 minutes late after screen froze up before previews and had to go find someone to fix it. Sound was in and out. Very loud almost unbearable. Didnt know before hand that food wasnt served like rest, had to go get our own food. Popcorn tasted stale and was cold. Will never use this theater again!

Food is absolutely wonderful most of the time. My favorite thing they have is on Golden Cod. 50% of the time it is absolutely spectacular. The other 50% of the time it is soggy and makes all the fries and everything on the plate soggy. The movies are always wonderful of course because Im the one that chooses them. Wait staff is generally friendly and courteous however they never come to pick up your plates so if you have more than one plate in front of you it will remain in front of you until the entirety of the movie.

The movie experience itself is great; audio and visual is pretty good. Spacious reserved seating is a godsend which really improves the overall experience.Ordering food is quick and easy; not as intrusive as you might think. Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone down over time; theyre banking on the convenience factor. If you eat somewhere else before you go you arent missing out on anything.

Nice place. I had the buffalo chicken salad- it was huge (like for 2 adults and a small child huge) and good.

The seats are nicer at Marcus. AMC is cheaper. The food and alcohol will be better at most chain restaurants for the money. But if you want to kill two birds with one stone, its nice to have the option.

The evening I was there Everthing was Very Good, Food was Hot, Popcorn Fresh, Seats Comfortable, Temperature was Nice. AA+

Well this is the first time I have been to that theater since they remodeled it,I usually go to the other ones around town but I love all the extra space and the service was great too all of the staff we ran into was very friendly and at the push of a button they will make sure you enjoy your movie without getting up they will do all the work for you I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.
