A great variety of things for kids of all ages, and certain features can be used differently by kids of different maturity.I personally get a little anxious when my little girl is out of my sight on these types of playgrounds, so it took awhile for me to get comfortable with where the dangerous (for her) stuff was located. And I always wonder why they insist on making some slides end 3ft off the ground. All in all, its a must stop when we drive into town to visit family.

We are lucky to have such a great park here in Big Spring. The trails are long and expansive enough for most people. The swimming pool is a great deal of fun in the summer. We have a great golf course and disc golf course (disc golf course is FREE). Multiple playgrounds for kids to have fun in. A great lake with decent fishing and room for kayaking. And to top it all off, we get a killer light show every Christmas season and firework display for the 4th. The park is one of the best things about Big Spring.

The spring is dried up. Old oil Barrels in the water. Water is stagnant, dead, rotting fish on shore. Garbage along shore as well. Its absolutely gorgeous. Cant help or force people to do the right thing. If I wouldnt get in trouble let I would clean up the mess while Im there. I come to the spring to relax and think. Yet, my once happy place is now, depressing.

UPDATE ON REVIEW OF THIS PARK.On December 10 2018 I made the mistake of going to this park to see if anything changed. I was disgusted by the filth every where and once again there are dogs every where running free while there are signs saying dogs must be on a leash. But hey guess what? as normal when I went to find some one, anyone that works for this nasty park, there was no one to be found. LOL and their sad Christmas stuff they put up all around the park, you know the ADDS from all of the local companies. well there is filth all around them and some of the sad little toys and blow up things are just left laying around.. Yeah way to go spring SPRING, you are a Ghetto town that will never be anything until you clean up your act, get rid of the drugs, the filth the dogs running at large. Get some dog pound officers that will do their jobs and enforce the law that leashes are required at all times, and just for a FYI did you know that by law it is illegal to have a pit/bully breed in the city limits of Big Spring? but once again this GHETTO town will not enforce their own laws.. look at all the dead cats laying to rot on the roads. Look at the falling down houses in the city, the falling down buildings in the city..Big SPRING you need to look at your sad city and pull it together. this is a sad filthy city that the MAYOR will do NOTHING about cleaning it up.. so why should COMANCHE park be any different? if I had kids I would not allow them to play here for fear they would get bit by the at large dogs, the trash and the homeless people everywhere. The Ghetto in New York is better then this town and its parksI live in big spring Texas and refuse to go back to this park ever again, there is a man that owns a yellow lab type dog that lets it run free off its leash even though it clearly states that doge are to be kept on the leash. but because he is a golfer at the golf court, he gets bye with breaking the rules. since I was unsure of this dog I had my daughter go into the girls bathroom with my dogs while I went to get my car, when I got back, to my horror she was stuck in the bathroom, the door would not open. so i went to the golf office because as normal there was no one working in the park, the lady there who thinks she is gods gift to the world, asked me why :SHE had to call, it would look bad on her. I am making a report to the animal control, the city and the police about this park as it is dangerous for families or people with pets of their own. it needs to be closed down

This park is big, but its not the cleanest. The bathrooms are terrible and for how big it is, there really isnt a lot of different things to do. It is layed out well and what they do have is fun for kids, but a lot more could be done. I have a 1 1/2 year old and he loved to just run around and go down a few slides. Overall, good place to go with the family and hang out. Good picnic areas.

Review №74

I dont know whos bright idea it was to spend all that money to revitalize the spring. All I know is that it ruined the appeal it used to have to want to go hike that part of the park. With signs everywhere to stay on patched paths, it limits access to out of the way and off the beaten path hiking. Another score for visitors bureau. The dollars could have been better spent instead of a rusty bunch of signs that are hard to read and rusty railings and rusty lamp posts...

Big Spring is a neat city to live and tovisit. Howard County is rich in the oil and gas industry as well as ranching and farming. Nice hills, lakes, city parks and one beautiful State Park. Nice weather usually and lots of friendly folks... Plenty Motels, One landmark hotel, the famous Settles Hotel, an Excellent Cowboy Steakhouse, several Mexican food restaurants, two Chinese food restaurants, and one Texas Cajun Seafood and Steakhouse restaurant.
