Decent climbing, but not really. It’s great for the area! But, keep in mind that the area is terrible.Don’t expect good climbing here. The rock is sharp, greasy, and prone to crumbling. Most things are reachy and don’t flow, but once you accept that it’s alright. Come with a good crew and it makes it all the more manageable.
Mortar Rock park is just around the corner from Indian Rock. Parking is difficult on days when visitors are exploring the pocket parks in the neighborhood. Mortar Rock has become a favorite of the rock climbing community. If you are there on a day when there are no climbers practicing their moves and holds, you can see the chalk their hands leave behind. In winter, the rocks look like an Irish fairy land draped in thick green moss.
Cool spot to chill for a minute before Indian Rock.
Nice quiet and casual. Despite all the traffic, its very clean and well maintained. Best hard bouldering in the area but just a few steps away from fun easy and moderate bouldering. Not much there if you dont climb.
Great place for some hard Boulder problems!
Five stars because I got Nats Traverse first try!
Sweet little vest pocket park tucked in a bend in road between several houses. Kind of dark Grove of oaks. Small. Worth a short visit
Baby brother to Indian rock.
If youre a rock climber, you have to challenge your self and finger tip skin here to become legit.
