Walked the dog just before sunset and it was pretty crowded. Everyone is very respectful in terms of sharing the trail. Went again in the morning just after sunrise and it was MUCH quieter. Did the Shevlin Loop which was a great little run. Views of the river and towering trees.

Nice little one to take your kids fishing. Use some power bait with a small barbless hook (otherwise the trout may swallow the hook and you may accidentally kill fish you would rather release) and a small weight. Your kids should be able to catch as many as you want. You can keep two per kid, but catching and releasing is really fun.

I shot a wedding here in the summer and it was a cute little quaint venue along the pond! The outside space was really gorgeous! The inside of the building is kind of outdated, and it was unfortunate that during the couples ceremony there was tons of people fishing in the background because the public part of the park stays open, even when weddings are being held.

A great place to walk your pup or just enjoy the towering Ponderosas. Runners and walkers alike find the assortment of trails a joy to spend time out in a truly natural setting. There is also a paved road, closed to car traffic, for bikes or walkers who require a smoother surface.

Old growth pines in a well maintained park with trails and a gorgeous creek. Group picnic areas and lots of smaller benches for small outings. Plenty of big trees cover the historic parts of the Fremont meadow. Bathroom facilities and signs are located throughout the park. Walking the loop or the creek trail gives different perspectives over the entire park.

This park is beautiful and it has lots of trails connecting with each h other. You wouldnt know that you are 15 min from Bend. You can hear and sometimes see the Tumalo creek as you are hiking the trails. You may climb a bit here and there but for the most part its really easy and enjoyable.

Long hiking and biking trails that follow the river. You can make the experience as long or condensed as possible... but would definitely recommend giving yourselves a couple hours! Sections of the paths have very little shade, then others cut right through the forest. Plenty to find at the end of little paths that veer off the main paths. Such a beautiful place.

A great spot for running or walking and the starting point for success to one of the best mountain bike trails in Central Oregon, the Mrazek trail. Simple parking on both sides of Johnson road and well signed for trail access. A paved road leaves the parking area and is car free all the way to Aspen meadows for walking or running. Several well marked trails on the east side of Tumalo creek offer additional routes.

Great place to go for a hike with your littles. If you pull off to the left (side that doesnt have the teepees) you can walk some awesome trails. Let the littles run wild worry free of rigs, they can play in the water, try to catch tadpoles, have a picnic. Its perfect for close by family fun that feels like your out in the woods.

This park is so amazing. At first it just looks like a little parking lot with some burnt trees but wander down the path to discover the loveliness of this park. Tip: continue down the drive to park closer inside the park if theres still spaces. Have little ones that need to run around outside? This place is perfect. Theres little tidal pools that form along the path of the river that they can wade in, throw rocks in and play. Hike, bike, run, bring a picnic, dogs on leashes. This place never disappoints when you just want to get outside and be in nature and you want to go some place close to town.
