Parking lot fills up really fast and there’s no wiggle room. First day we had to go back to wanogi and snowmobile up. Once here there is a nice open area and also many trails. There’s a map just west of Tumalo mountain for snowmobiles.

High enough to have good snow when other places dont. Its a small parking lot, but the trails can also be accessed using the common corridor provided through the Mt Bachelor Nordic Center.

This is a good hub for many outdoor activities and some worthwhile views. Have been there twice for the tumalo mt hike, which is always worth the effort.

This place is pretty dang amazing. In the winter time, its got a great set of trails good for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and even snowmobiling. Bachelor grooms the main paths for the skiing (you might need a pass for that though). The most wonderful thing about this area is the view. Youre smack dab in the middle of the cascades. Bachelor to the southeast, and broken top and the sisters to the northwest. It feels like you can touch them.

Great place to start your snowmobiling it looking adventures. Not many spots to park so get there early.

Parking can be challenging on a busy day, with a large number of snow-mobile trailers as well as many snowshoers and backcountry skiers. Best to arrive early, otherwise, the closest parking is across the highway at Mt. Bachelor ski area, which can also be quite busy. Restrooms are available at the sno-park.

Get there early, but one of the best to access the area.

A fantastic recreation area. Tumalo peak offers a challenging snowshoe or skin climb for those looking to get the heart racing. The top of Tumalo is home to some of the best views of the Cascades in the area, but the winter summit is windy...so be warned. The flatter terrain around the peak allows the snowshoe and XC trails to be accessible from beginners to more advanced skiers. The parking lot fills up quickly in the winter so arrive early for a spot. This trail allows snowmobiles and they use it, so dont expect a perfectly serene experience. The snowmobile trails are separate though, so conflicts are infrequent. In the summer Dutchman grants access to some of the best MTB trails near Bend(hit South Fork for an epic ride). Enjoy!

Snow park permit is required and heavily enforced. Small parking capacity so come early. Public out house wasnt serviced in a while so it was pretty foul.

Honestly one of my top hikes to date. We snowshoed up on a clear day and the views of the sisters as well as bachelor are national geographic caliber. The trail is very steep but not too long. Snowshoes or spikes are a must in the winter. I definitely plan to go back during the summer!

Accessed the Tumalo Mt. Trail from here. Somewhat difficult, but fairly short hike to the top of a mountain whith some spectacular views of other mountains. Did this hike in late July. Which, unfortunately, ment not a lot of snow left on the mountains, but definitely still worth the effort. If you have dogs I recommend starting early, as the summer sun can bring the pumace gravel at the top to pretty uncomfortable temperatures for little paws.

Great recreational activities from the parking lot. However, be aware it fills up fast, with many snowmobile trailers in the winter.

Parking is difficult with a full size pick up and or a large SUV pulling anything longer than a two place snowmobile trailer. However thats the highest in elevation for snow.
