As others have noted, this 2.9-mile (main loop) trail would be a nice little roly-poly trail run, since it has a nice variety of ups and downs with lovely scenery. The shorter 2.2 mile pond loop is also very nice. This is also a nice destination for a family hike because of the gentle little hills and the payoff of the pond if you do the pond loop. Note that dogs and mountain bikes are NOT allowed. The privy at the trailhead is a welcome bonus. Highly recommended.

What an incredible trail. The diversity of trees was delightful and the trail for me was a good balance of easy to breaking a sweat. Im a bigger guy getting back into fitness and this was a great hike for an active rest day. I look forward to exploring it again. The trails were marked and easy to navigate. No dogs or bikes too!

Lovely trail for nature and wildlife. Its promoted as a family nature preserve which is great but unfortunately ran into several groups of kids screaming with no parents in sight. And chances of seeing any wildlife after that dropped no notta. But most people are kind and courteous on the trails.

What a fantastic resource just outside Bellingham. Beautifully laid out and maintained pathway and trail options, magnificent forest hikes. Highly recommended for a fairly flat 4 to 5 mile walk. Enjoy the forest ambiance, beautiful trees, undergrowth, birdsong. Very accessible, year-round.

We thankfully saw the advertisement in a Bellingham magazine and went to walk on the trail. Wed never seen that part of Bellingham and now we have another reason to love the area. So peaceful and serene amongst the ferns and trees covered with moss. Loved it.

Great short hike that’s manageable for someone out of shape like me, I go on walks and I have 3 flights of stairs at home but I don’t actually work out and haven’t for years.I’m using this trail to build my endurance so I can move on to many of the other beautiful hikes in the PNW I just stop and rest as needed an move along. This particular trail, I had to stop twice but only briefly and I finished so I’m satisfied

Big Controversy about Pets(Dogs) on the Trail. So the Main Board says No Dogs but there is also a piece of laminated paper stating that Dogs are allows as long as Owner gives Hikers the right of way. Please get back to me on this.

Great place to spend a day. Lots to see and hear. The big trees are beautiful, the ponds are full of life, the trails are clear and maintained, and its really shady, so its a great spot on a hot day!

No dogs! My dog would have loved it here. There are plenty of places to take your four-legged friend in Whatcom County but this is just for you. This place is a piece of heaven. Some sections are tougher than others but over all it is a great place to unwind and just walk or run. Lock your car and secure your belongings apparently this place is known for theft. Still five stars for shear beauty.

This is just a great day hike! Its an easy trail with fantastic scenery. There are 2 trails... 1 is much shorter and took us a little less than an hour to complete and then the main loop was slightly more difficult and took roughly 2 hours to finish (mostly because Im so slow and out of shape!). I would highly recommend this for anybody wanting to get out :-)

Awesome well-kept and well-marked trails through the woods and a section along a wetland/pond! Trails were not difficult, only a few “steeper” uphill sections, but overall on the easier side. Since it’s located close to Bellingham its and great way to escape the city and get 3-4 miles of woods hiking in without traveling far...

A great hiking trail. No worries about bikes or stepping in pet doo as neither are allowed on the trails here. Choose between a 3 mile hike or a walk around the pond at about half the distance. The WTA bus stop is right across the street offering even more convenience

Yes, it is a wonderful spot. However, I totally disagree with the no dog policy. Dogs do way less harm than humans if they are on a leash and poop is scooped. How about changing the rules?

Dogs not permitted because it is a nature reserve. One bathroom in parking lot but not in the reserve.Very beautiful and feels like youre in the middle of the forest. I do recommend hiking with someone because the trail is very long and isolated. Nature therapy for sure. The majority of the trail is not stroller friendly but trail is well kept.Theres one really steep hill but there is a way to start at the end of the trail and go down the hill instead.
